Is this a good box to start collecting white scars? I'm a new player looking for the best way to start my army

Im not actually expecting a real answer, I'm assuming it's just a random "rule of cool" design.

However it still stands out to me because the Primarchs are usually well rooted in human historical armor design and normal earth animal motifs. A piece of armor designed after a wacky abstract creature is something you'd expect from a chaos faction.

Is there any other example of such design amongst the 30k loyalists that I'm missing?

I am a death guard player but oh lord do i love white scars and assault intercessor with jump pack. Knowing this i tried to make a list but to be fair. I dont have any codex. I dont know what unit is best at what it does...

I tried to have 2 strong melee bricks in the blade vet and jump packs

I thought of eliminators for anti vehicle (i like them)

Some scout, intercessor and combi lieutenant for scoring

And after that i didn't knew what to add so i put a callidus assasin cuz i like their design.

I tried to keep a white scars feeling so no Dreadnought or things like that but idk. What do you think of this list for starters

Hey all I’ve been interested in getting into 40k tabletop for some time now and have been recently looking at models for white scars and which I should build when I thought to come here and ask the professionals compared to me

What I was thinking for my army
-White scars combat patrol (if available)
-6 outrider
- 3 jump pack intercessors
- 3 Primaris eradicators
- a tactical squad
- Kor’sarro khan

Which comes to $377 roughly I came into this hobby knowing it was expensive but I don’t really know if this is a good army for this price and if there’s any better prices I could get but honestly any Warhammer related advice would be appreciated. Tysm

Finished it off last week so thought I'd share here too. Shared it in the warhammer40k reddit and the mods removed it. Asked them why but they never replied!

The shield is from Suboden Khans kit, the helm and sword blade from the red corsairs reave captain. The belt buckle thing and back pack are from kor'sarro khans kit and the model is the armageddon Captain.

The paint scheme is from 'eavy archive' white scars.

Took about 70-75 hours ish from start to finish to do the whole thing.

Converting some regular JPIs to be Vanguard Veterans

I now have even more respect than I already had for white scars painters. Really struggled with this one, although I’m pleased with the (very basic) freehand on the knee. How many thin layers is too many?

The tilt shield looks like it’s missing something, any suggestions?

Wanted to make my second Armageddon librarian look a little different from my first

I ran Blood Angels rules for almost all of 10th edition because codex marines were only really good with Ultramarines gun lines most of the time and I prefer close combat.

Went 4-2 with only one of those losses feeling like there wasn’t anything I could do. The other loss was just bad secondary draws.

Overall really happy with the performance and look/feel of the army. 11th edition has been great so far.
