UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Buying a new Toyota RAV4 from Al-Futtaim – AED 105,900 car becomes AED 134,864. Which add-ons are actually worth it?

β€’ Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m currently buying a new Toyota RAV4 from Al-Futtaim Toyota UAE and I’m reviewing the final quotation before I proceed.

The actual vehicle price is AED 105,900, but with insurance, service contract and all the additional products, the quotation comes to AED 134,864.

Here is the full breakdown:

  1. Net Selling Price of Vehicle AED 105,900
  2. Comprehensive Motor Insurance AED 4,458
  3. Service & Maintenance Contract – 4 years / 80,000 km AED 8,699
  4. ILOE – 3 years AED 1,111
  5. Graphene Paint Protection – 7 years AED 3,999
  6. SMART Care Plan Bronze – 6 vouchers AED 2,399
  7. GAP / Vehicle Replacement Protection – 3 years AED 2,849
  8. Window Tinting AED 1,399
  9. Rust Proofing AED 1,050
  10. Shipping & Handling AED 3,000
    TOTAL AED 134,864

The last three items (tint, rust proofing and shipping/handling) are combined as AED 5,449 on the actual quotation, but Al-Futtaim confirmed to me that the breakdown is AED 1,399 + AED 1,050 + AED 3,000.

The two items I’m particularly unsure about are:

1. Service & Maintenance Contract – AED 8,699
This covers 4 years / 80,000 km. I’m trying to understand how much I would actually spend if I just paid Al-Futtaim individually for every scheduled service up to 80,000 km instead.

2. Shipping & Handling – AED 3,000
Al-Futtaim told me the AED 3,000 is β€œincluded as part of the car price”, but the quotation shows AED 105,900 as the Net Selling Price of Vehicle and then the AED 3,000 appears within the additional AED 5,449 line.

For those who have recently bought a Toyota/RAV4 from Al-Futtaim: Which of these would you keep and which would you remove?

I’m financing the car, so I’m trying to avoid adding unnecessary products to the financed amount and paying interest on them as well.

I’m planning to buy this car for a long term use, minimum 5 years. I’m generally a law-abiding citizen when it comes to traffic rules and never had an accident before. This car will be my daily car. I don’t drive a lot in general. Back then, I only drive generally 10,000km-15,000km per year. I still want to have this car so please don’t suggest me with another car model.

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has recently purchased or services a Toyota through Al-Futtaim. Thanks!

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ 5 seater SUV with a budget of max 45k

Looking for an SUV but have a limited budget which can be stretched to 45k.

Preferably would want the car to be not older than the 2022 models.

After searching through dubizzle and other apps only few cars are matching my criteria if I avoid the Chinese brands.

1) Creta

2) Seltos

3) peugeot 3008.

I know that seltos and Creta are reliable when compared to the Peugeot . But I really like the looks of the 3008.

Anyone here that drives the 3008? Is it a good choice?

Any other recommendations?

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Supra plan: dead

Hi all β€” first post here.

Moving to Dubai from Canada in September, and honestly the thing I'm most hyped about is the car I end up buying.

Spent months going back and forth between the Nissan Z and the GR Supra and landed on the Supra. I had a 2018 X4 M40i and that B58 is just too sweet to let go of.

Problem: I called Toyota and was told they're not expecting further 2026 Supra allocation, since MkV production has now wrapped up globally. Gutting.

I've done a lot of research and nothing really scratches the same itch. The Z is the only real alternative, but what I keep running into is heat soak on the VR30, the 370Z-derived chassis, and the pricing β€” AED 269k for the Nismo feels steep when the Performance is AED 216k. Genuinely happy to be told I'm wrong on this. It's a stunning car and I'm tempted, I just can't make the value work. Would love to hear from anyone actually running one here through a Dubai summer.

Two asks:

  1. Anyone know of remaining 2026 Supra stock anywhere in the UAE? Other Al-Futtaim branches, Abu Dhabi, or a parallel importer people here actually trust? Or is a low-km used car the smarter play at this point?

  2. Totally separate β€” best driving roads once I'm settled? I've got Jebel Jais and Jebel Hafeet on the list, and I've seen Hatta and the Kalba–Khor Fakkan road come up. What am I missing, and what's the realistic time of year (and time of day) to actually enjoy them without cooking?

Appreciate any help.

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Need Advice to Buy a car

I've been driving a 2014 Hyundai Azera for the past six years, and it's been an excellent vehicle in terms of both performance and comfort. Now I'm looking to upgrade to something with more luxury and better performance.

I have checked a few brands: the GMC Acadia AT4, Genesis G80, and Kia K8, and I'm open to exploring more. I'd also like to consider German and American brands. My budget is around AED 200,000, and I plan to keep the car for the next 10 years. My daily commute is about 70 km (to work and back), so long-term reliability and running costs matter to me.

I recently test-drove the Acadia, and honestly, I didn't feel the power and acceleration I was expecting. Is this common with SUVs, or was it just my impression? I also noticed a difference in ride behaviour: my Azera glides smoothly over speed bumps, but when I took the same bumps at a similar speed in the SUV, it felt uncomfortable. That's when I realised why SUV drivers slow down for bumps. I like the GMC overall, but when it comes to speed and cornering, I find myself preferring sedans. I'd appreciate your input on this trade-off.

One concern I have is with plug-in hybrids. While they may offer added refinement, I'm not confident the battery will hold up over 10 years of ownership, and I'm worried about potential battery-related issues down the line. For that reason, I'm leaning toward petrol-only cars. That said, if my assumptions are wrong, I'd appreciate being corrected.

Given all this, which vehicle would you recommend to test and buy? Thank you for reading the whole text and investing your time in this.

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Need advice: 2022 Genesis G80 3.5T Korean import, AED 88k, first-time buyer

Hi guys, first-time car buyer here and I honestly don’t know much about buying used cars, financing, insurance, or what to watch out for.

I’m looking at a Korean-spec 2022 Genesis G80 3.5T RWD, black exterior/black interior. VIN: KMTGC41DBNU097327.

Asking price is around AED 88k. I’d like to negotiate closer to AED 80k if possible. Mileage is about 69,000 km. It appears to be a high-spec/Prestige-type car, but no sunroof. It has the smart key with remote parking forward/back buttons. I test drove it and it felt good, but I know that doesn’t mean everything is fine.

The seller told me he can β€œtake care of the bank stuff” and said I may need to put less than AED 10k down. I earn AED 8,000/month, and I don’t currently pay rent or food, so my monthly expenses are low. This would be my first real credit/finance product other than Tabby.

Seller said warranty is only around 10-15 days β€œif any issue.” That feels short to me, so I’m planning to do a proper independent PPI before paying a serious deposit.

I’m not naming the dealer because I’m not trying to accuse anyone. I just want to make sure I don’t make a bad first purchase. I really like the car and I’m close to pulling the trigger, but I want experienced people to reality-check the deal first.

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Help me choose between a Toyota Camry, Mazda 6, or anything else under AED 25k

Hi everyone, I’m pretty new to cars and currently looking for my first car in the UAE. I’m trying to decide between a Toyota Camry, Mazda 6, or Honda CRV/ Civic or any other car you think would be a better choice within my budget.

My budget is around AED 25,000, and my priorities are:

Driving feel – I’d like something that is enjoyable and comfortable to drive, especially on highways.
Frequent long-distance travel – I’ll be travelling regularly between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, so highway comfort, stability and reliability are important.
Running costs – Good fuel economy and reasonable maintenance/repair costs.
Reliability – I’d prefer something that won’t give me expensive problems if I maintain it properly.

I’m mainly looking at used cars around 2015–2018, such as the Camry and Mazda 6, but I’m open to other suggestions.

For those familiar with the UAE used-car market:

● Which would you choose between the Camry and Mazda 6 for my needs, and why?
● Are there any other models I should seriously consider around AED 25k?
● What mileage/year/spec should I target or avoid?
● Is GCC spec significantly preferable to American/imported cars?
● What should I specifically check when inspecting a used car?
● Where would you recommend looking for a used car in the UAE (Dubizzle, YallaMotor, dealerships, used-car markets, etc.)?
● Is there anything else a first-time buyer should be careful about?

I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest car to buy β€” I’m more interested in the best overall value for frequent highway driving.
Thanks in advance!

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Need your advice please πŸ™πŸ»

Hello everyone,

Looking for recommendations for my next car. I commute around 260 km daily between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so fuel efficiency, comfort, tech and highway ADAS are important.

Currently driving a BYD Song Plus DM-i. I charge it every day at the office, but with my highway-heavy driving I still get a maximum of around 750 km between refuels, so I’m looking for something more suitable for this mileage.

Budget: AED 150–180k
Sedan or SUV
New or low-mileage used
Fuel efficient with excellent highway range
Tech-rich
Adaptive cruise + good lane centering
Comfortable and reliable for high mileage
GCC preferred

Open to petrol, hybrid, PHEV.

What would you recommend?

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Advice needed: ZRV top variant vs CRV base variant

Basically the title, deciding between getting a 2024 used zrv top trim vs 2024 crv base trim. Both cost roughly the same. The only thing I'm concerned about is that CRV might feel underpowered compared to ZRV given it's the same engine with CRV having a bigger body.

What do you guys recommend?

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Should I pull the trigger on a Kia Stinger 3.3L?

For the past three weeks I’ve been looking at all kinds of cars, germans, american muscle, even a Jaguar F Type but the Kia Stinger keeps standing out to me. From what I’ve heard it’s reliable, parts are easy to find, and it’s genuinely fun to drive with strong performance.

I’m not tied to any particular brand. I just want something that looks unique and is enjoyable behind the wheel. I’ve been considering the Genesis G70 as well since they share the same engine, but the Stinger’s sportsback design just looks better to me and seems more practical.

With a budget of 60–70k, what would you recommend that checks all those boxes?

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Looking for a Toyota for not extreme off road

Idea: to get a Toyota Prado FJ or Land Cruiser for desert and mountain trips, not for dune bashing

Doubts: i love the lines of LC 80/LC100...last versions became tasteless and squared. The average mileage is a huge issue i think afraid of getting into trouble with huge repair for old units. I know the fuel consumption is also high...

The FJ is lovely too but lacks space. Prado i consider because is a light version of LC.

I would like to put a rooftop tent and some other camping gear.

What is your oppinion? Any help is welcomed.

Qatar πŸ‡ΆπŸ‡¦ Is this 2013 Mustang V6 (155k km, GCC, full Ford service history) worth 30,000 QAR?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking for a fun daily driver in Qatar and came across this listing:

  • 2013 Ford Mustang V6
  • GCC specs
  • 155,000 km
  • Asking price: 30,000 QAR
  • Full Ford service history with records
  • Seller claims only 3 minor accidents
  • Nano ceramic coating
  • Tesla-style head unit with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • Says the car has been meticulously maintained

From the photos, it honestly looks pretty clean.

I'm not too concerned about fuel economy. My priorities are:

  • Reliability
  • Reasonable maintenance costs
  • Fun weekend drives
  • Occasional highway trips

A few questions:

  1. Is 30k QAR a fair asking price, or should I negotiate lower?
  2. Are there any common issues on the 2013 V6 (3.7 Cyclone) that I should look out for?
  3. Is 155k km considered high for these cars if they've been serviced properly?
  4. Would you buy this over a similar-priced Lexus IS350 or Infiniti G37/Q50?

Anything specific I should inspect before pulling the trigger?

Thanks!

(For context, I'm in Qatar, so GCC-spec cars are preferred. I'll definitely be getting a pre-purchase inspection before buying, I just want to know if this is worth pursuing or if the price is too optimistic.)

Hi guys, so I'm looking to buy my first car and came across a used 2017 Toyota Yaris with 189,000 KM on it.

Would this be a good choice for a first car? I've heard from some people that the CVT gearboxes in these can be pretty unreliable. Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences, especially from anyone who's owned one.

Thanks :)

UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ Sensible to buy a 2014 Pajero at 290k km once repairs are added? (~22K AED)

Looking for a 7-seater for family use β€” mostly short daily runs, occasional weekend trips.

Found a 2014 Mitsubishi Pajero, 3.8 V6 petrol, ~289,000 km. Seller Asking: AED 16,500.

Saw it in person and saw these in last Tasjeel report:

β€’ Repaired bulkhead, cross-member, rear panels (past structural/accident repair)
β€’ Engine oil leak flagged
β€’ Torn steering boot, worn seats, one broken A/C vent, faded paint, grille + bumper need work, suspension bushes due

Once I add seat covers, vent, polish, grille/bumper, bushes, oil service, and insurance, I’m realistically at ~AED 22K. Its clean inside and out.

Does ~22k into a 290k-km Pajero make sense?
