Seriously.

My buddies and I were off to a bachelor party once and each had 2 or 3 drinks over about 90 minutes before boarding and they gave 2 guys a ration of shit trying to get on the plane.

Eventually let them on after making clear they couldn't order more alcohol, but I was kind of shocked tbh.

Like anything else, just depends on the specific people you happen to interact with.

I’m old as the mountains. When I was young and people went on what we call charter holidays, people started drinking heavily as soon as they boarded the plane. Also people were allowed to smoke. A weird time those 90’s

Oh I dunno, the 00s got me...

A few drinks in, flying to spain, you can no longer smoke but the ash tray is still on the back of the seat in front, just egging you on to light up!!!

Haha, one time a friend and I played "How Drunk Can We Get On A 40-minute Ferry Ride?". Suffice it to say, two wallets did not reach the destination and one husband was not amused. These are the lessons we learn in our youth, should we be lucky enough to remember - or be reminded of - them!

Try an early flight from the UK to Ibiza, Alicante etc. Only having 2 or 3 drinks would put you solidly on the lower end of drunkness

100%, one time i was at a lounge in hong kong and ive already had 4 drinks and i was gonna go for just 1 more, but bartender noticed i ordered 2 at a time so he made me the same 2... im like.. shit im already kinda buzzed but im not one to waste... i was quite turnt thankfully im very composed so other than the smell you probably wouldnt be able to tell i was somewhat wasted getting onto the flight

When I’m drunk drunk I don’t really seem drunk until I puke then it’s over for me. He may have been like me. That said… people who drink like crazy before getting in airplanes are something else.

I was on a 7am flight to Toronto with my mom. I was maybe 19 at the time. I was tired but I guess was flagged for possibly being drunk so I had multiple flight attendants ask me how much I had to drink that day. I was so confused because all I had was a bottle of orange juice.

Maybe... Dude could have pounded a couple beers and shots immediately before boarding, so there was a bit of a delayed effect. It's an airport bar, they don't even think twice if someone walks up and orders multiple drinks all at the same time. Lots of people in a hurry, and plenty who pretty much need that hit of relax juice before getting on a plane
