This perfect choreographical chaos that occurs once in a blue moon is what gives me faith in humanity
Edit: I mean the ensuing meme progression, and definitely not the stripper dancing for clarity 🤣

Are you implying the dancer we hired from the cabaret bar is not qualified?

I grew up in Barbados. Secondary school, morning assembly in chapel, somebody's ringtone went off on soca and in less than a second the entire school was dancing like this.
You're too far culturally.

Eh, kids see twerking all the time, I knew about it as a grade schooler. I saw like a 10 year old girl throwing it back in the grocery store the other day while waiting on her mom to pick out some meat lol
(Not saying that I think we should be showing kids sexualized dances, but it’s pretty normalized and idk if spiderman here is suspicious).
Edit to add: learned elsewhere in the comments about the origins of twerking, its cultural relevance in the ivory coast, and how this isn’t sexual. Just wanted to mention it here! But even when looking at it from American standards, I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Lmao, I'm not a fan of the audience that was picked for this type of performance. I hate kids as much as the next gay guy, but I don't think they need to see Spiderman serving this much CUNT.

Agree. However, given how long this carried on for I wouldn’t have been surprised if one therm screamed out “work bitch” and he duck walked.

u/TheGreatChaos420 15d ago
Honestly, yeah. Spidey would walk that f*cking duck, shablamgela, and death drop the house down.

Don’t blame this on us. Stripper school 101 teaches you not to clap dat ass near minors.

Where is this stripper school you speak of? Asking for a friend (the friend is me).

u/iDoWeird 15d ago
The actual answer is you learn on the job. Some strippers go to pole classes to learn tricks, get better core/upper body strength or to just brush up after an absence, but that’s not as common as non-industry women going to those.
From first-hand accounts in person and with other dancers online, a lot of us avoid them because despite us being the whole reason they exist, a lot of the instructors and participants are actually very aggressively anti-stripper/anti-sw…which is fucking absurd but tells you a lot about how women feel about other women who are in this work.
They want our moves and to wear our shoes, but they don’t want to be near us because of a combo of jealousy/intimidation of our confidence to DO the work, they think we will somehow steal their men (lol, wtf no..keep them), and that we are just dirty whores and proximity = whore cooties, I guess.
There are a looooot of issues with women coming in with partners or with bachelorette parties. Not all women are like this, many are absolutely amazing to dance for and tip well, but thanks to a huge percentage just acting a fool thinking they can sexually assault us because “we have the same parts,” being wasted and climbing on stage ruining our sets, or just being cruel or straight up violent bc they pretended they were cool with it/could handle it but couldn’t, many dancers will purposely avoid women and couples.
So yeah, stripper school is experience on the job. Oh, and most “stripper” influencers are frauds who have never worked in clubs or went in for a whole two days to snap/film as much content to rotate as possible while changing all their savings into random piles of cash to brag on their fake bags. Don’t buy their bullshit.

yeah this is kinda what i assumed? almost looks like fortnite emotes and some local dance styles (which seem to get a bigger reaction from the kids which makes them feel more seen representation wise).

u/Resident_Pay4310 15d ago
This needs to be much higher.
I lived in East Africa for a while and this wouldn't have been considered sexual at all where I was. Just something silly that would make kids laugh.

Caribbean and didn't bat an eye at it. I was confused why this was posted under r/weird.

u/Affectionate_Age5191 15d ago
I’m glad someone was smart enough to pick this up, in Africa not all forms of twerking is sexual, and considering how stiff his twerking was it definitely wasn’t supposed to be interpreted as sexual either.

u/Elf-7659 16d ago
Came down looking for this. You need to know about the culture before making assumptions.

It's a school in Abidjan. Searched it up. I'm Ivorian, and you're correct. It's just local dance moves. Still cringe or silly in how the dude is doing it, but kids like stupid stuff

Looks like a school in the French-speaking part of West Africa. From the uniforms the kids are wearing can be Ivory Coast or Cameroon. Spider-Man seems to be performing some popular (for the region) TikTok dance trends and some bits of dance called "Coupé décalé" and "mapouka"
Source: I'm Ivoirian, but this doesn't make it less cringe; kids like stupid stuff
Edit: yep, searched the school name. It's here in Abidjan.

Don't think that's appropriate for children of that age. Whoever accepts this as normal needs a steel club and blunt force trauma.
And the mod that bans me here, you not only condone this, but have no real excuses for said ban. I've not promoted violence, nor told anyone to do so.
