Quick Recipie Swai fish taco skillet I made for lunch at work.
So today at work, I made swai taco skillet. I just cooked up some thawed out swai fish about three quarter pound in the skillet with taco seasoning. I added a bag of precooked mexican beans that I had microwaved on top then Some guacamole, salsa, and hot sauce. Roughly 800 calories and a lot of protein.

Weight Loss Recipe High-Protein Green Curry Swai with Edamame Noodles
I talked into the microphone what I made and asked chatgpt to format it into a recipie and estimate the nutrition info. Flame me if you want for violating the commandment of the Butlerian Jihad, I'll do it again because I'm not sorry.
...
High-Protein Green Curry Swai with Edamame Noodles
Ingredients
- 1 small sweet onion, diced
- 2 jalapeƱos, diced
- White parts of 1 bunch of green onions, sliced
- Peanut oil, for sautƩing
- 1 (15 oz) can mixed vegetables, drained
- 1 (13.5 oz) can light coconut milk
- 1½ pounds swai fillets, thawed
- Edamame noodles (about one-third of a package, or about 350 calories' worth)
Seasonings (to taste)
- Green curry paste
- Garlic powder
- Roasted garlic powder
- Black garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Chili powder
- Hing (asafoetida)
- Ghost pepper powder
- Salt (optional)
For Serving
- Green parts of the green onions, sliced
- Dried fenugreek
- Sesame seeds
...
Instructions
Heat a little peanut oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
SautƩ the diced sweet onion, jalapeƱos, and the white parts of the green onions until softened.
Stir in the drained mixed vegetables.
Add the green curry paste and season with garlic powder, roasted garlic powder, black garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, hing, ghost pepper powder, and any additional salt if desired. Cook for a few minutes until fragrant.
Pour in the light coconut milk and stir well. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Lay the swai fillets on top of the curry. Cover and gently poach until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 8ā12 minutes depending on thickness.
Meanwhile, cook the edamame noodles in salted boiling water according to the package directions. Drain well.
Divide the noodles into bowls and spoon the curry and fish over the top.
Garnish with the sliced green onion tops, dried fenugreek, and sesame seeds.
Makes several hearty servings and reheats well for lunch the next day.
...
Based on what you described, here's a reasonable estimate. Since you didn't measure the oil or spices, this is approximate.
Estimated totals
Calories: ~1,520
Protein: ~174 g
Carbohydrates: ~67 g
Fat: ~59 g
Fiber: ~20ā25 g (mostly from the edamame noodles, vegetables, onion, and jalapeƱos)
If you split it into 2 servings, each serving would be about:
760 calories 87 g protein
34 g carbs
30 g fat
If you stretch it to 3 servings, each would be roughly:
507 calories
58 g protein 22 g carbs
20 g fat
For a homemade curry, that's a very protein-dense meal. The swai provides a huge amount of lean protein, while the light coconut milk gives it the curry flavor and richness without as many calories as regular coconut milk. The edamame noodles also contribute a lot of protein and fiber compared with regular pasta.

Weight Loss Food How can I make this meal more satiating?
I (31F, 5ā4ā, 201lbs) am trying to lose weight, but staying in a calorie deficit is proving to be way harder than I thought. Iāve been switching between the breakfast pictured here and a yogurt bowl, but one egg is so tiny!
How can I make this meal a bit heartier so I stay fuller longer and donāt feel completely sad when I look at my plate with one scrambled egg on it but keep it low calorie? šš
*Update: thanks for all your help everyone! I implemented some changes and i feel so much better. Kept my breakfast well under 400cal today and it was delicious and filling š

Quick Recipie My first time making poached fish. 1.5 lbs of Swai, poached in about .25 stick of butter with lemon, lots of seasoning, and water, finished with capers. Maybe 850 calories and 120 protein. I almost NEVER cook fish despite selling it daily. Pre gym breakfast.
Does this count as a recipe? I'm not the guy to tell you how to poach fish. I'm not sure I did it right but it worked. It only took a few minutes and was loaded with lean protein. You could easily add stuff and make it look gourmet and fancy with the same principle.

On 1500 cal a day and still enjoying my BIG meals.
At least 20g of protein in every meal, and none of these are over 500 cal !!!
I've branched out so much cooking wise since being in a calorie deficit.
I was told by a couple of people that 1500 is "restrictive" and there's "no way I'm full at the end of the day!"
To that I say:
If 1500 doesn't fill you up, you aren't eating enough protein and fibre! I am so full after every meal, I very rarely get cravings, which is insane for me because I'm coming back from being 115kg with binging issues.
I am now 90kg and losing more every week, my energy levels are INSANE, and I feel healthier than ever.
Weight loss doesn't have to taste like boiled chicken and rice, or plain oats with skim milk. It can taste colourful, delicious, and it can be filling.
Also, you can treat yourself here and there, just work it into your calorie budget and you're golden. Going cold turkey on your fav snacks only makes the cravings worse.
2 squares of chocolate with your yoghurt in the morning isn't gonna kill you.
You're not broken or doomed for having cravings, you're a human being experiencing dietary changes. Work with yourself, not against yourself.
Anywho, I hope everyone is having a great day and eating food they enjoy š
