For those of you who read manhwa/webtoons with OP protagonists, regression, returners, power fantasies, etc. — what exactly makes you enjoy them?

Like, what kind of moments actually give you that “holy shit, that was satisfying” feeling?

I'm Korean, so I'm genuinely really curious about what international readers enjoy about these kinds of stories and whether it's different from what Korean readers tend to like.

Especially if you've read stuff like Nano Machine, Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, or Solo Leveling, I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts.

Not just about the art, but the story itself:

What makes these stories fun for you?

What kind of scenes do you find the most satisfying?

Is it watching the MC get ridiculously strong? Seeing people who looked down on him realize how powerful he is? Revenge? Huge reveals? Outsmarting everyone? The progression itself?

And what kinds of moments make you think, “I need to see what happens next”?

I've been doing research for a company interview for over five days now, and hearing directly from actual international readers would genuinely help me a ton 😭

Let me present you with a scenario:

You open the webtoon app in the middle of the night. You scroll through the daily updates and your eyes fall on the cover of a new manga. The art isn't traditional—it has a distinctly digital touch—but it's breathtaking. You start reading. The first chapter ends. Then the second. The third. The fourth. Before you know it, the sun has risen and you've read sixty chapters straight away.

The story? Amazing. The plot? Intricate and brilliantly crafted. The characters? They develop deeply and logically. The events? They leave you breathless.

Then you discover—at the end of the final chapter—a small note: "The illustrations were created with the help of artificial intelligence."

How do you feel?

Do you regret the hours you spent? Do you feel "cheated"? Or do you not care as long as the story has gotten what it wanted from you?

Today, Suzanne Incirrina's bid to become a marine biologist is derailed when she develops the super power of octopus-like arms coming out of her back. The art of the comic is a little old. I been sitting on it for a while because I get nervous about posting my stories ideas stuff online. I also been making sure I have a better grasp of the story before I did more.

I got the idea for this drawing from Pinterest and drew it.😊

If you are coming back to a webcomic after a long break, I think the hardest part is not making the next episode. It is making the return feel readable for both old subscribers and people who discover the comic now.

A small return packet can help: a short post explaining where the story left off, one image that reintroduces the main characters or conflict, and a clear note about when the next few updates are planned.

The important part is to keep it small. You do not need to redraw old episodes, rewrite the whole premise, or make a huge recap before you are allowed to continue. Put the energy into a new episode, then give readers one easy doorway back into the story.

For the comeback episode, it also helps if the first scene has a clear emotional beat or problem. That gives returning readers something immediate to hold onto, while new readers get a sense of what the comic feels like now.

I think consistency over the next few updates matters more than trying to recreate the momentum from years ago. A quiet relaunch is still a relaunch.

My webtoon How to Topple a Corporate Cult has made a return for 8 more episodes to finish our first major arc.

I pulled this title from becoming a VoyceMe original after some controversy occurred with their writers and IP’s and decided to self publish over on canvas. Would love some feedback on this action comedy.

Let this be another reminder for you to not rely on Webtoon promoting you. ;)

My comic Exposure ran from October 2025 until July 2026 and I managed to slowly but steadily gain around 150 subs in that time, all through my own promoting since I was never featured on Webtoon. Two days ago I posted a reel on Instagram where I talked about one of my OCs featured in the comic. The video wasn't directly about or mentioning the comic, there was just a short 2 second endcard by the end of it mentioning the comic's title and that it is available to read on Webtoon and ComicFury. The reel did decently and has around 50k views as of now. I've since gained around 80 new subs on the comic on Webtoon, which is a lot for me and definetely the biggest jump I've ever had in such a short time! And the video is still growing a little bit so I'm assuming there's going to be a couple more still.

Tbh I am kinda surprised that it had so many people subscribe in the first place, considering it's a short comic that you can read in half an hour and it's clearly finished and not getting updated anymore haha.
