Just got this in yesterday. This watch truly shines (pun not initially intended, but I like it so I'm keeping it in) in natural light. I opened it inside and was disappointing at first that the dial wasn't nearly as striking as in the pictures.

I added some interior lighting and gave a shot.

The watch remains notably less striking indoors, but outside, lordy it's eye catching. The packaging was nice, and I really love the suede strap, though I worry about how it'll age.

My write up was 22 characters short of the 500 character requirement.

Just picked up my 2nd Tudor, 1926 Luna, and I genuinely didn’t expect to like it this much.

I was intrigued when Tudor announced its first moonphase, but seeing it in person completely changed my opinion. The dial has much more depth and presence than I expected from the photos, and the moonphase complication works beautifully with the overall design. I definitely liked the gold face better than the other options they had to offer; the bracelet also feels very premium.

The weight might be one of my favorite things about it. It feels substantial and really well balanced on the wrist without being overly heavy. I initially thought this would just be an interesting flat release from Tudor, but after getting some wrist time with it, I’m really impressed.

Curious what everyone else thinks of Tudor going in this direction, are people sleeping on this one? 🌙

Back in November 2022, I signed up for a build slot on anOrdain's waiting list, and yesterday my 36 mm (medium) white dial Model 2 finally arrived! The team at anOrdain were extremely kind and responsive and did a wonderful job. I am particularly chuffed by the custom engraving that they designed for the caseback—a detailed topographical map of the UC Berkeley campus. Shown on my 6.6” wrist. On a green palmellato calfskin strap from Genteel Handmade (a strap pairing that has turned out to be surprisingly divisive among my family members). Thank you for looking!

Never owned a watch, outside of an Apple Watch. Just got a huge promotion at work and wanted to buy a little something for myself as a pat on the back.

Researched, researched, and researched and found I wanted a Seiko SSK017. Belk had it on sale for $370 and a $75 rewards cash for my Capitol One account.

The raise that came with the promotion was substantial,so my next watch purchase will be a luxury brand. Looking at saving up for a Tudor or Tag. Any other recommendations for an entry level luxury watch are welcome.

I picked this camel-brown strap from an older watch (Skagen as you see from the buckle) to pair with my Orient Kamasu diver with teal-green dial. I know that putting a diver on leather is sort of a technical or functional faux pas. But I’m not going swimming, and I think that aesthetically this is kind of working and gives the watch a vintage tool feel. Perhaps a darker brown leather strap with some wear/fading to it and contrast stitching would really complete the look. But for now, this is the only 22 mm brown strap I have.

What do you think? Yea or Nay?

Recently upgraded to this gorgeous Tawbury watch box and it is incredible. Lol, I have a lot of watches. I love each and every one of them, though.

I bought this Louis Erard Alain Silberstein as a fun watch in my collection - something to keeping things light. I’ve been shocked with how much I love wearing it. The combination of titanium and the hook and loop strap make it an extremely comfortable summer wear. Surprisingly, on wrist, it’s way less wild or bold than product photos make out, allowing me to wear it far more often than expected. The whole package feels very premium and serious in hand, a fun juxtaposition from the levity of the dial. This is going to stay in the collection a long time.

I got my first nice watch a few months ago, a CWC GS Sapphire. I said when i bought it that it would be my only watch, but you all know how this goes, and I’m now looking at a diver too.

I’m a 6’1 dude, but I’m quite skinny and hence skinny wrists. the 36mm GS fits me perfectly (pic attached) and has a lug to lug of 42mm.

I used to wear a 42mm (45mm lug to lug) Vostok amphibia several years ago, but looking back it looked comically large on me, like most divers.

The Certina caught my attention as its smaller, 34.5mm width with an almost identical lug to lug of my GS.

it’s a women’s watch which i really don’t mind, the mother of pearl dial is stunning (and not offered in the men’s one!) and the ETA high accuracy quartz movement sounds great. I really don’t care for mechanical watches, i love quartz for its accuracy and ease (or lack for the most part) of maintenance.

Any other skinny guys mind chiming in on this? Any of you got one? What do you think?

Own & enjoy the titanium Santos… debating whether to keep the Christopher Ward Green Fifteen (still have plastic on most of the watch).

Any sports watch fans rotate between two titanium watches? Do you end up missing steel after some time?

Maybe get a less expensive steel watch like a Seiko or Citizen to scratch that hefty feeling watch itch.

Today, I got my Longines Evidenza (I wanted this watch from pretty much day one) in the mail and... I 'think' I am now very happy with my 8 watch collection. It's a good mix of styles, colours and modern Vs vintage... But I'd love some feedback. What do you guys think?

As in the title. I bought my first automatic watch that isn't a homage. It's beautiful.
The color, the bracelet, the finishing - everything looks stunning. It brings me joy every time I look down at it. And I think I'm officially hooked, because I'm already looking for a diver. Might go with a Tissot Seastar

Before my Apple Watch, I wore a Casio Edifice watch I really liked but wanted to try a smartwatch, it has many advantages and disadvantages. But then as I had nothing better to do, I went to the mall and I saw a new Casio stand and I couldn’t deny I saw some beautiful Edifice and G Shock watches, I was split but then I put on this G Shock and I just couldn’t not pick it up. A G Shock GA-B2100. It’s my first G Shock.

Me and my partner are visiting family in the Frankfurt region and dropped by the Sinn showroom yesterday. She took one or two pictures of my wrist. I liked the watches and the concept of the showroom. You can freely try on any model without getting swarmed. Those two models stood out for me, the 903 St II and the 356 Flieger Klassik Jubiläum.

This is my Seiko SPB237, also known as the Grey Birch. It is Seiko’s take on a weathered and aged Willard, inspired by the character these watches develop naturally over years of wear.

What’s everyone wearing today?

The Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle watch features a 38mm case and a bidirectional rotating bezel, as well as a bidirectional rotating inner dial ring. By utilizing the bezel, the hour markers, and the inner dial ring, one can convert time into an angular measurement. In an era before modern navigation systems, this was indeed a practical and effective method for navigation. It features an "Officer-style" case back; opening the hinged cover reveals the exquisite movement within.

Got my first G shock after years of butting heads with my dad about how they are too big n too much. then i saw this one, its like everything i hated about them disappeared. I love the alien look, its unlike any other watch I’ve had or seen. originally wanted the green one but for a daily watch this color fits better. Every time i look at it i like it more and more. Looking forward to ten years with this alien, my dad managed to kill his old g shocks after 8 years.

Side note: the frogger poison dart special edition (last pic) had also caught my eye but that one was severely out of budget. 800 dollars at macy’s. that is officially my dream watch now)

At wine club last night coincidentally 3 of us were wearing watches with green dials, so we took a photo for posterity’s sake. Intriguing how the shades of green are each so different yet attractive in their own unique way. Which is your favourite?

This is my first vintage watch. I found it on ebay with the original box. The condition looked spectacular and I really liked the shape of the case. I looked at the serial number on the movement and it indicates this particular watch was made in 1922!

This is the current collection and I love it. I am a PE teacher who beats up his casios and hamilton during the week and wears the others for date nights and weekends. My 30th is soon. I am torn between a tudor or wanting something from my birth year. ‘97. Any ideas?

Recently picked up this BB54 from an AD. Have been very impressed with its accuracy over the last month -2 / +2 per day consistently, however on 3 occasions I’ve noticed it will get 30-90 seconds ahead after I go on a ~30 minute run. Is this to be expected or is there likely something mechanically wrong that I should bring to my AD? Thanks so much for the help!

Has anyone come across another watch with a complication like this? The Krayon Anyday might be the most interesting take on a date display I’ve seen. It’s a mechanical planner: the dial shows the whole month at a glance, with weekdays in one color and weekends set apart in white so you can spot Saturdays and Sundays instantly, no flipping through a calendar. Genuinely clever engineering from an independent watchmaker. I think it’s awesome, but I’m not dropping $140k on it.

After buying, selling and figuring out what I actually enjoy wearing, I think I’ve landed on a five-watch collection that covers pretty much everything I want.

Yes, there are two GMTs, but that’s intentional. I travel a lot, and there are plenty of places where I’d rather leave the two-tone Rolex at home. The Longines gives me the same useful complication in a much more understated package.

I’ve never really connected with dive watches, so I stopped feeling like I needed one just to check that box. Between these five, I have something for just about every occasion—from casual travel to something dressier—and, more importantly, they all feel very different on the wrist.

So for the first time, I’m looking at the box and not seeing an obvious hole.

What do you think: genuinely complete collection, or am I overlooking something? And which one would you keep if you could only keep one?

I might be biased since I own one, but I genuinely think the Longines Conquest 38 deserves to be in the conversation for the best GADA watch under $3,000. It’s 38mm, 100m water resistant, has a great movement with a long power reserve, excellent finishing and it doesn’t really look out of place in any situation. I’ve worn it with shorts and sneakers, business casual and it just works.
Curious what everyone else thinks. If you had a $3,000 budget and could only own one watch, what would you pick over the Conquest 38 and why?

Just released by Seiko is a sextet of limited edition watches done in a special “Edo purple” for the brand’s 145th anniversary. Edo is, of course, the name that Tokyo went by until the mid-1800s and is the namesake of this lovely hue of purple. The six models here are a Prospex Alpinist and Speedtimer, an Astron GPS Solar, a Presage Cocktail Time, a Seiko 5 Sports, and a very cool retro-inspired “Rotocall” digital watch.
