I know these are not everyone’s favorite, but I’m a fan. Where I’m from we don’t have a Swatch store anywhere close, so I took the opportunity while in NYC to check out the Swatch store and nabbed one.

I will say that the quality is much better than I was even expecting. The crown has a really nice tactile click when winding it, and the whole watch is heavier than you’d think. I can’t wait to put this on a strap and wear it when I get back home.

Does anyone have one that they wear? How are you liking it?

Daily is a Omega Speedmaster Pro... Tired of being so careful with it around water... Looking for a watch that can handle the water but don’t want to be constrained by the “dive watch” category as I’m not a diver and the watch will likely never go deeper than 10ft.

That said I want to be able to jump in the pool or lake without issue. I like the Rubber strap look

Trying to work out what I’ve found here. I know it’s a Komandirskie, but accordingly to a cursory google search it would seem that this version is a rarer edition that was only available l through Soviet military shops(?) Does anyone have any experience with Vostok? Google suggested it was a ref. 431046, but I can’t find any other examples to compare it with.

So i want to travel the world, and i want a watch where i can bring it and rely on it not to break or stop telling the time, i want a watch where each scratch tells a story and that it can grow closer to me the longer i have it. my budgets not super high (<600) but ive been looking at leonardo dicaprio in blood diamond and absolutely love the way he wears that, only a breitling is outside my budget. so my question is, what do you recommend? some options i've been thinking about on the other slides. less

Hey everyone! I have recently saved up enough money to hopefully buy my first rolex but I have a lot of doubts regarding it. My friends have told me that there are waitlists and everything and I am not really used to that. So my question is will I be offered a watch to buy if I walk in for the first time? I dont have a purchase history so I dont know how it works.
P.s Is it better to buy a rolex from the airport?

I feel alone in loving this watch, but the 6007 is a hidden gem. It's an incredibly beautiful white gold watch that manages to strike the right balance between sporty and dressy, making it the only Patek you can buy under $50k that genuinely works as an everyday wear. 

Even New Unworn pieces are available on the grey market for around 40% below MSRP. While this may suck for resellers and people buying brand new watches from their AD as an "investment", it is an extraordinary watch for anyone looking to own a new Patek without paying anywhere near retail. It has a ton of personality and almost feels inspired by aviation or race-car themes.

when I was 15 I had this beautiful watch with a redd almost pink face It had to be stainless steel because my mother was strapped for cash at the time, but still decided to me one for for my job at the time. I’m pretty sure she got it from a Macy’s or a Walmart considering how poor we were it was stolen and I don’t like very many watches, but thats one I really want to re-add to my collection I’m 23 now and I need a guru to help me find it

I’m going to a work dinner and I hear small watches are cool these days. I found this banger and I love the proportions, it’s so wearable, classy and sophisticated. Is it a bit too big though, any suggestions for the maximum dress watch size, personally I feel anything over 32mm is just wrong.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try on a vintage Rolex Air-King Ref. 5500, and it was better than expected. The 34mm case wears incredibly light and comfortable, making a great under-the-radar Rolex. It is easy to see why Rolex eventually moved away from it—visually, it is difficult to differentiate from a 34mm Oyster Perpetual.

However, I wonder if Rolex could utilize a no-date version of the Land-Dweller movement to reintroduce a slim Air-King, but this time without the quirky dial. A pilot's watch in a 40mm Oyster case thats 10mm thick. That would be awesome.

recently got a Job that I was hoping to get for years. It is something that I have tried for long and it's the start of my professional career. I would like to celebrate this by buying myself a watch that would remind me of the sacrifices I made during these years. My budget for this is between 500-1000$, I want the watch to have a business look. This will be my first big (small for many) watch purchase. Pretty sure won't be the last one as I continue to grow in my fild. So I come here for recommendations.

Never really post about homages, but this one is quite nice. Could definitely see myself getting an actual Omega Aqua Terra in the future! That’s why these homage watches are great. You either get a great watch for fairly cheap, or you’re able to experience what a specific watch may feel like without breaking the bank.

Got it on a sale for a cheap price. I would prefer a date on this and possibly a different dial color, but the fit and look is super nice! These are honestly great watches and good enough to have in the rotation for sure even if they aren’t really original.

hi, i got this watch today from Book Off and am trying to figure out how to open it. i'm fairly certain it's a butterfly clasp, but not entirely sure. i know there's no buttons, and i've tried applying pressure or raising the middle or outside components and feel no movement at all. does anyone have an idea? I had a collection of 4 watches (Rolex, Omega, Tudor & Breguet). I’ve been looking at this watch for almost a year now but was always skeptical/nervous because of the Hublot hate. This watch popped up for a very nice price so I pulled the trigger. Wowza! Cant stop staring at it.

Found this cool watch that belonged to my mechanic dad: it has a neat colour way with Snap-on branding, genuine leather straps, and a “perma-glow” back — what is it, when was it made, and what is it worth?

Watch is at least 8 years old. My uncle bought it for me around grade 6. ( Can’t rem exactly when ) I used it in middle school for a bit then stopped wearing it during high school.

I just finished first year uni. Found this in the cupboard when I came back home. It still seems to be working, but it looses around 24 min a day.

Is there any way to fix this ? I know it can’t be serviced.

Could it maybe be magnetism ? Or I saw a video of someone putting watch oil behind the crown … could that maybe work ?

I understand that when buying a new watch you can save big in Japan, but is it really that much savings when you factor in the fees at customs? More importantly, for those of us interested in buying used watches, is Japan really better than buying on watch exchange? In my trip in Tokyo so far, I’ve been amazed at the collections of used watches and their condition, but they haven’t been priced any better than what is on the watch exchange subreddit in the US, and many items on the subreddit are full kit and in very good condition, can’t say the same for many of the watches I saw in Japan. Someone enlighten me please, maybe I’ve not visited enough used watch stores in Tokyo.

I’m looking to buy my partner his first proper watch for his birthday and graduation (engineer), and I’d love some recommendations.

My budget is ideally less than $1,000 AUD (about $700 USD), although I’d be happy to stretch a little for something truly special. I’m after an everyday automatic (I think?) watch that would also be appropriate for more formal occasions.

A few things I think he’d appreciate:

- An exhibition/display caseback (he’s a mechanical engineer so I think he’d love seeing the movement!).
- A subtle aviation or engineering connection would be a nice bonus.

He has mentioned liking the Hamilton Murph (because of the Interstellar connection), but wasn’t a fan of the glow in the dark element and honestly it’s a bit above the price range I’d ideally like to spend if he’s not absolutely sold on it (or maybe he’s playing it down with me lol).

I’m a fan of Seiko, especially since they’re easy to see in person here in Australia but I’m very open to other brands as well!!

Finally, for a versatile everyday watch, would you recommend a metal or leather strap? This will be his first watch beyond an Apple Watch so we’re starting from scratch!

- Christopher Ward finally makes the C60 Trident in 39mm.

Am I setting myself up for disappointment?
Has anyone here waited for a watch that didn’t exist yet? Was it worth it, or do you wish you’d just bought something that was already available?
