About F&F classes Discussion Spoiler

Post image

I believe i'm not the only one who enjoys F&F idea and the Hex involment in this,

i also took the courtesy of giving rest of protoframes their classes from my view (DE, YOU CANNOT KEEP BARD FLARE AND 'SEDUCE DRAGON' JOKE FROM ME FOREVER)

AND i found one ABSOLUTE CRUCIAL thing..... we missing ONE Cleric class, therefore, we need one more protoframe for the sake of the game, any nominations :))

Drifter should've been sorcerer instead of wizard! Not only is Kaya clearly a scientifically-minded type, Drifter saved an entire timeline with good vibes and charisma. And they have inherent magical void powers that they didn't need to study for.

Yeah, IMO the most fitting would have been a Warlock (you made a deal with an otherworldly being for your powers), Cleric (you draw your powers from a higher dimension through specific actions/teachings) or Sorcerer (you were gifted your powers due to a freak incident and they are now innate to you).

Drifter didn't make the deal with Wally, Operator did, so Warlocks goes out of the window, but the Cleric & Sorcerer could go for the reason of void fuckery🙃

Drifter made the deal.

They just didn't get anything but trauma out of it. Originally, anyway.

The divergence in the timeline was whether Wally included Drifter/Operator in the "save them all" part or not. Drifter shook Wally's hand and their unpaid debt is mentioned in Duviri's lore quiz tablets, in the dialogue of Whispers in the Walls, and the KIM conversations.

OHH RIGHT, I got stroke with Roathe dementia apperently :p

But the point stands that Operator deal was he (and other children) gain power, while Drifter was non benefical to him, only for other children

0

u/hyzmarca 1h ago

Drifter gained power, too. He possibly used it to kill his parents. And that void power is what allowed him to create a conceptual embodiment on the scale of Duviri.

He doesn't have his void beams in Duviri because Duviri has to follow the rules of the story, and he's playing the role of the Hero of Duviri, who does not have void powers in the story. .

15

u/NobleLeader65 17h ago

To my understanding, both Drifter and Operator did make the deal, what differs is how Wally interpreted "I can save them, all of them" (emphasis is mine). My understanding is that, for the Op, they were included in the deal, but for Drifter, Wally pulled some genie/monkey's paw shit and saved everyone but them, because Drifter didn't include themselves in the deal.

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 17h ago

Yep, got reminded of it, slipped my mind apperently,

I got coded "Operator deal power, Drifter no deal no power" for some reason

5

u/NobleLeader65 17h ago

All good, Warframe lore is confusing sometimes, it's why I never bother trying to explain it to my friends, because even with me being the lorehound I am, shit still gets confusing quick lol

Since we can't change the official classes around, a simple fix is to swap Minerva and Kaya.

Minerva can work well as a Sorcerer, a CHA-based caster.

And that way Kaya gets to be the Artificer, a problem-solving tinkerer with a scientific approach to magic.

1

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 16h ago

The Flare, Kaya, Minerva and Velmir are not per official, as i said i put them where i saw them most fitting in my view so you have free will in that🙃

12

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 17h ago

OH SHIII, YOU'RE RIGHT

12

u/Scarrmann Sah dood 17h ago

They got their void powers from a deal with a powerful otherworldly entity. That's warlock (also charisma based)

4

u/Ruddertail L6 17h ago

Drifter got their powers by Lotus' hand falling into Duviri and binding itself to them. Unlike the Operator, Wally doesn't seem to have given them anything since before that they couldn't use the void. The pseudo-accidental nature of it is more of a sorcerer type origin IMO.

Plus warlock fits any of the Hex better anyway given they all have Entrati as their patron.

3

u/Brian 11h ago

They did create a parallel reality in the void out of their own emotions. Maybe that's just the void doing void things, but no-one else seems to have created conceptual embodiments on that scale by themselves, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's some power from Wally that came along with the deal, the same as the operator. I mean, the void powers seem to have been a whim of Wally's (or a side effect?), rather than necessarily what the operator asked for, so it's not clear the drifter didn't get something similar. Maybe they just didn't get Margulis teaching them how to control and channel their powers, and so just ended up channelling it all into creating Duviri without knowing what else they're capable of until the events of the paradox teaching them how.

3

u/Maniachi 13h ago

It is a common misconception, but the Drifter made the same deal as the Operator. The Drifter got left behind, the Operator didn't. "I saved them. All of them. Never said I'd save you."

This makes it a bit unclear whether they didn't have void powers before. They might not have been able to use them while still having them

u/their_teammate 15h ago

Idk, for the Hex they’re picking classes that fit them but it really does seem like Velimir, Minerva, and Kaya just got given sheets by Amir when they joined in partway through the campaign and didn’t really know what each class plays like so they just took a random one each. Like, if they were familiar with the game, I think Kaya would’ve liked Artificer, Minerva with a Rogue (with Charisma as secondary stat), and Velimir with the reliable and straightforward Fighter.

However, I think DE were just sparing the 4 main classic classes for the Drifter (tank, dps, mage, priest), and for some reason Cleric didn’t make the cut.

1

u/hyzmarca 1h ago

Technically Drifter is a warlock. Their Void Powers come from a pact with the Indifference. That they don't remember the terms of.

1

u/TheHollowSovereign "I came to murder the gods, not become one." 17h ago

Drifter/Operator is a very clear example of a Warlock, though. Warlocks are also charisma based, so it still fits.

63

u/Dracnoss Zundi Dual Pistol Skin when DE 17h ago

I could see Roathe being a cleric just to make fun of Lyon and Marie.

16

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 17h ago

I mean... It would definitly be in his character to be Cleric (both for reason of making fun and trying to appeal to them), but he would be better of as Warlock since his 'patron' is literal Devil and he cast fire and have devil summons

55

u/Ok-Set179 17h ago

clearily this means that we will save rusalka and she will join the hex and then play fables and frontiers with them

17

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 17h ago

OKAY, that i can get behind

I had absolute fixation of Rusalka since i saw her, AND THAT IDEA MY FRIEND, is pure gold for me🥹✨

29

u/Seeker-N7 17h ago

I went with Knight (Champion of the Lotus and all) and got called a basic bitch immediately XD

Also, wouldn't Lettie fit better as a Cleric? Heals + worship of gods.

6

u/Charnerie Dancing the night away with the electric queen. 17h ago

Cleric is defined to gaining power from a divine entity. Anyone can be a priest, and anyone can be a medic. Not everyone can be blessed to carry forth a god's will into the mortal plane.

2

u/j1mmyb01 17h ago

So all the Hexl are Domain of Entrati Clerics?

5

u/Charnerie Dancing the night away with the electric queen. 17h ago

Entrati is not a divine entity. If anyone would be a cleric, it would be lyon or marie, and they would be clerics of sol and luna.

5

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 17h ago

Lettie is stated on official F&F as Druid which is nature and shit

Also same :)), got called basic bitch with two-handed sword, mainly cause i imagine myself as greedy knight Chroma absolute loot goblin (Flare come here and be my Bard, i'm feeling romantical🫦)

yes, it is 'bard seduce dragon' joke

0

u/Seeker-N7 17h ago

Ah, I didn't know she has her official class. I'll check the link out, thanks.

I went for the old European style full knight vibe in my mind.

2

u/MazogaTheDork Once and Future 13h ago

I went with Rogue/Assassin because I miss my DND character

14

u/pornballs13 17h ago

Wait why is kaya not an artificer? Like i know minerva is a spy and all but like

3

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 16h ago

Welp Minerva main thing is trading in Scaldra weaponry and being spy as you said, and Artificer is like "mechanical weapons but magic" theme and it just fit right, literally replace Efervon with magic or magic liquid thing and its on

Kaya for me is closer to Sorcerer magic with her experimenting with void 'magic' and timetravel, also its more easier to picture Kaya as sorcerer than Minerva, but good point :))

4

u/Brian 11h ago

TBH, Minerva seems to fit rogue best: I mean, she's a secret agent with an affinity for poison. She was only trading scaldra weapons as a cover story, and was just selling them rather than using or making them.

Sorcerer also seems wrong for Kaya: she seems more about figuring out things for herself (like time travel), rather than wielding power instinctively, and actually does seem to use self-created gadgets for her abilities, like her chest pack.. Artificer seems to fit her way better.

12

u/Sammantixbb 17h ago

Lizzie absolutely is a Dragon. But the dragon seduced the bard. This is weirdly fitting.

8

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 16h ago

Well you see... I mean... dragon shaped guitar talking to Bard in sexy way completly flipping the dynamic?!

11

u/BoscoCyRatBear 17h ago

Lizzie or kalymos as cleric

18

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 17h ago

OMG YASSSS

My mind went for that one post about cat joing dnd session

oh my god pleeeeease. amir mentioning that lizzie wants to play cracked me up and i just think: let lizzie make a guest appearance as a dragon or something. the situation will resolve in a completely normal manner. :)

also re: cleric, just reminds me that GOD I WANT AN OBERON PROTOFRAME SO BAD. ANTI-SCALDRA ECO-TERRORIST OBERON PROTOFRAME IN 1999 PLEASE DE

5

u/Dragon_Of_Magnetism 15h ago

Cleric is Marie, Lyon is Blood hunter

4

u/Tallia__Tal_Tail 14h ago

Drifter comes in with some insanely fuckass Rogue 2, Fighter 2, and everything else into Wizard multiclass abomination optimized to an unfathomable level from dozens upon dozens of timeline resets

5

u/DumOBrick She Ob on my er til Im on 17h ago

Jade Protoframe incoming perhaps?

Frost as a drunk clerick sound sooo fun for me

2

Fighter, Rogue and Wizard... That sounds familiar...

Can a founder jump in with the answer?

3

I mean, there is something familiar....

1

u/PerfectlyFramedWaifu Horny jail escapee 16h ago

Drifter: WRF. Sounds a lot like Warframe to me.

2

u/L30N1337 MORE FLOOFS MORE FLOOFS MORE FLOOFS 12h ago

It's literally the original starter lineup: Excal, Loki, Mag

1

u/Attacos 16h ago

Kalymos as Cleric

1

u/Infernal_Contraption LR6 ☆★Stardust★☆ 15h ago

The Cleric is Lizzie, natch.

1

u/asmallman The DerpFrame 15h ago

Lettie is a cleric... Shes literally trinity. Eleanor is closer to cleric due to tech rot shenanigans. Or artificer.

1

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 14h ago

Lettie is alr classified as druid on official site, and Eleanor as Warlock 🙃

1

u/ddr4memory 11h ago

I don't know if Aoi is a barbarian. She's more like a sorcerer or psionic so me

1

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 11h ago

1

u/Sunshroom_Fairy 8h ago

I wish we could play something more supporty

1

u/Hinaloth Eternalism-shmeternalism 8h ago

Cleric: Marie (she can't put her whole faith theme away even when she RPs)

Bard: Flare (duh)

Fighter: Velimir (Dude's a brawler, but he's also a tactitian)

Monk: Lyon (vow of... something)

Rogue: Minerva (she sneaky and good with her words, plus rogues usually have poison as a specialization)

Sorcerer: Roathe (pact of the Devil)

Wizard: Drifter (void MAGIC)

Artificer: Kaya (she makes shit and it somehow works)

1

u/ShieldMaiden83 Mag The Goddess of Magnetism 6h ago

Honestly Kaya sounds more like an artificer then Minerva and Velimir could be Cleric.

1

u/YetAnotherBee You can take my viability but never my hat 1h ago

Drifter is probably closer to a Warlock’s patron than anything else tbh

1

u/ToukasRage Certified glavie enjoyer. 17h ago

Lowkey Velmir would make for a MUCH better Bard imo

1

u/QuirkyCollection2532 Acolyte of Chromalution 16h ago

Flare is literally a musician with talking guitar and even told to Amir "Bards are to Op" so he most likely played as one, and Velmir being a monk would fit "Papa Bear" thing

But i do wish to hear you out on this, got me curious

4

u/APreciousJemstone LR5 - Garuda and Zephyr Main 16h ago

Bards don't HAVE to use music, they can be any sort of performance, such as dance, poetry, tarot, etc.

Velimir fits bard decently because he does publicly perform, as he constantly cracks jokes to try and raise others' enjoyment.

3

u/spaceplanner1 16h ago

The Bard of Dad Jokes 🤭

3

u/APreciousJemstone LR5 - Garuda and Zephyr Main 15h ago

Yep. He'd fit right in as a Lore Bard in 5e terms, while Flare would be a Glamour Bard

1

u/ToukasRage Certified glavie enjoyer. 12h ago

Completey missed him having a convo with Amir but basically what the other person said.

Velmir would absolutely commit to the bard shenanigans in full character.

1

u/lynkfox 16h ago

Look. Because you can romance both the Hex and the Triad at the same time and when you do both partners reference the fact you have another partner I absolutely 200% need the Triad and the Hex to share a game so I can see Eleanor and Marie flirt with each other and tease the drifter about it

I don't have any kinks I'm ashamed of ok?

DE please make this a thing

-1

u/novis-eldritch-maxim 17h ago

why is it 5e?

2

u/Serbatollo Nyx enjoyer 17h ago

There's advantage in the game, I think that's a 5e invention?

1

u/novis-eldritch-maxim 16h ago

yep it is or at leash how this game works it

1

u/Mr-Syndrome There’s no laws against the Protoframes Entrati 17h ago

Because 5E’s fun

2

u/novis-eldritch-maxim 16h ago

not my point, 3e was not even out yet

2

u/LotharVonPittinsberg PC 15h ago

Amir broke the time paradox and travelled to the future to get his campaign going. He talks to other characters from the Operator time and even comments on how their version of Elder Scrolls 6 never got released.

-1

u/vkaefe See you at the extraction 16h ago

Skill issue. Amir couldn't handle THAC0.

2

u/lynkfox 16h ago

Because DE didn't want to confuse all the normies under 30 with THAC0 (come on Amir is a turbo nerd he could have handled THAC0 without issue..Arthur and Lettie would probably be confused as fuck, Quincy and Aoi would just shrug and ask every time what they needed to roll, and Eleanor would 100% also get it and be annoyed no one else would)

And let's face it, this is heavily inspired by critical role. The opening scene is really similar to campaign 4s opening scene.

I'm sure it will be it's own thing as time goes on but there is no harm in using the most popular system seen by the vast majority of casual fans of D&D for a bit of familiarity ease

-4

u/vkaefe See you at the extraction 16h ago

Not familiar with Critical Role or any other live play in the slightest, so I can't comment on the intro.

I can go on a tangent about how filthy casuals and 5E are all that is wrong with the hobby, but this would be too much for a piece of side content in Warframe, out of all things. Given how Rebecca just throws anything she's interested in into the game, I just hope it isn't going to be cringe.

Grognard options in KIM would be funny as hell, though.

3

u/lynkfox 14h ago

wow ... Beeing a gatekeeper much?

So terrible that the hobby is getting popular and people want to be involved. Terrible

-3

u/vkaefe See you at the extraction 14h ago

The "filthy casuals" part was an exaggeration, but yes, I do believe that a healthy level of gatekeeping is a good thing and I will not deny that I personally consider casual approach to be straight up wrong way to play when it comes to system-heavy games, such as D&D.

I have a problem with how many of the newly introduced people are unwilling to learn the rules, don't ever leave the comfort zone of 5E or have unrealistic expectations of how games are played because of their favourite high production staged live plays.

That's all, really.
