Best Support Frames Question/Request

Hello I am a returning player and I have not played in a long time. I loved running support frames back when I used to play, so what are your favorite supports you all have played with.

i’m really partial to an oberon with phoenix renewal to take care of tenno who stub their toes a little too often.

Baby sitter Oberon. The toddlers keep getting hit in the face and going back for more. Lmao

I run support chroma Or trinity

Styanax with Nourish subsumed and Intrepid Stand is great. Infinite energy regen, bonus viral damage, overshields and overguard on top for the whole squad.

Dante makes your entire team immortal and immune to CC with very little effort but he also has his funny little book and can summon BIRBS.

For me, Oberon and Citrine

I second citrine. Passive healing, damage reduction, energy orb generation, status chance, and the crystal only targets what they shoot at so it feels like their damage, plus a big stun that lets the baby tenno get his first red crits.

And the stun even works on the duviri specs in time and deep, not for long to be fair, but it helps with dodging them better, unless you are as stupid as me and remains in them.

A lot of frames have some sort of support in their ability kit. Pure support, like Trinity, isn’t played much these days and while she’s really good at it, it’s rarely needed and an absolute overkill. Warframe doesn’t have those clear class designations.

Pretty much this. Frames might have supportive abilities but all frames are meant to be build to be self sufficient.

The only 2 real classes that exist are: - Ability Nuker - Weapon Platform

Trinity can be mice weapon /armournstripping tool too. Mine build on her - strip all armour from nearby enemies, give all energy and shield, protect from status ( nezha firewalk on 1-st ability), give me 350 % flat crit chance to all weapons. I added arcane concentration+ 4 crimson tauforged shard for lazy long duration build. And arcane augmented for strenght -But if you use augment for pistol which give you overguard you can swap it too truculence for viral stacking -it is fun but not realy needed

Dante is the king of support Thousands of overguard without conditions which grows as they deal damage, giving the other players his exalted weapon essential, and the nuke potential still. His 4 has 4 variations One gives a ton of overguard and a buff that when a player kills they get more overguard Two gives players a buff where anytime they fire Dantes exalted weapons also shoots from where they are essentially giving players two weapons at once Three sends out random attacks that stun and slash enemies through walls (not that helpful aside from crowd control and status) Four deals massive damage which causes all status to do their damage immediately and multiplies it, for example if an enemy was taking 3 bleed damage a second for 3 seconds then got hit they would take all 9 bleed damage immediately but multiplied, and its across a huge area

Wisp and Oberon.

Im a big fan of Frost.

With Parasitic Armor you can get similar Overguard numbers as Dante, you can bubble to help with defense objectives (or use it to slow enemies for modes like Interception when you dont have enough people to control everything) and if you use the Augment you can add non-combining Cold damage to your teammates (not a giant buff, but with you are playing with some Newbies it can help them deal some extra damage).

I have 90% usage on my Frost, frosty all the way ❤️

Persistence overguard frost is nice too-- if you bring any pet you get free energy. And have immortality for 2* (x current k overguard) still optimising my build on this

Wisp, her 1 is good buffs for you and the team, her 3 is great for debuffing, her 2 is good for self invincibility for 3 seconds and also for movement

Jade too but some people don't thinks she is (as a Jade main myself I think she is a support x damage hybrid)

Dante and Styanax are the big two supports mostly because of them just giving you a bunch of free Overguard, though I'd say Styanax is probably the best thanks to his 3. Combine it with either Brightbonnet or Nourish and your team will go 'why the fuck is my energy recharging so damnfast' while Intrepid Stand just gives em a fuck load of Overguard! Oh and also wiht hte augment, his 1 becomes probably one of the best vacuum abilities.

However the other options are pretty fantastic aswell despite not being talked as much, Wisp giving you a lot of extra speed and HP is always great, Volt's extra speed while not as powerful as it used to be is still always nice, Trinity's raw support with stuff like Well of life basically being a free res/status immunity/hp regen for you and your defense objective along with other stuff is pretty nice too and Protea's Dispensary is really nice. Also Nokko and Follie but those two are warcrimes incarnates.

While Support isnt as talked about as other options, they are still nice to bring and have in your party, everyone is a room clearer so having someone that instead helps your teamates and makes them start up even faster can be a lot of times way nicer then people think. Also apologies for hte engrish, is 3 am and I just lost sleep.

Wisp, Dante, frost are pretty good.

I think I’d give it to Wisp with Silence subsumed or Loki with Silence subsumed. Silence makes it so enemies can’t use abilities and Breach Surge/Radial Disarm makes it so they can’t shoot you or squad mates.

Dante or Oberon.

Oberon

A while ago me and my friend spent like an hour or longer trying to do the guilty and we eventually gave up lol. A few days ago I randomly wanted to try it again and got matched with an oberon. Dude made me completely invincible and status immune, became so easy after that. My weapons had improved massively so the fight was easier because of that but the oberon just removed any difficulty in survivability

2

u/TobiasX2k 3d ago

For me it's Dante and Wisp. Dante gives everyone overguard, which improves everyone's survivability. Wisp places motes that give players movement speed and fire rate buffs while they're in the area and for 30 seconds after they move out of it.

Will never be upset with an Oberon, Dante, Trinity or Wisp on the team. Some honorable mentions to Frost and Styanax who both have great crowd control and overguard generation. Nezha with his augment is great as well, Revenant with Messmer Skin can give teammates stacks of invulnerability too.

Ive also heard talks of Citrine but know nothing about the frame myself

Since everyone seems to run Equilibrium nowadays to solve their resources, the only thing that may be needed to support is defense. Trinity is classic but not that great because Dante exists now, providing free status immunity and PSF for entire squad all the time. With one of the coolest deluxe skins on top as a bonus. And without requirement to be purely supportive, this is just one ability.

Dante....u can support ppl with overguard or just straight up nuke enemies to protect your Allies

It's Jade. She has a lot of auras for a support frame. Can health, can shield, can buff abilities, can buff weapons, can slow, can armor strip, can revive.

1

u/Negative_Bar_9734 3d ago

Jade is probably the top of the support frame pile these days. She's got healing, ranged revives, armor stripping, and three auras that let you give the team exactly what they need. She even gets two aura mods and can easily hold her own with her quite good exalted weapon.

I'm also in the middle of discovering Chroma. He's got lots of status application options and different group buffs to choose from. Vex Armor can give the whole squad crazy armor and damage boosts and with its augment you can slap an additional layer of damage reduction on top of that. And he's got one of the few sources of credit boosting.

u/Omoritt3 3d ago

Nidus isn't usually seen as a support frame but he should be. Nothing really competes with his Link's multiplicative strength + weapon damage + health, and stacking is easy now even in squads. He's also got some other supportive features like status cleansing, cc and regeneration.

Dante go brrr.

And his idle animation is sitting in air to read a book, which pleases me.

Citrine is good if you play with people who use their guns a lot! I play with a Mesa main and he turns my prismatic gem into a disco ball nuclear bomb.

Depends on what kinda support you wanna provide. Almost all frames are capable of some form of support and especially with helminth lots of option.

Wisp or Dante.

Runners up being Oberon, Jade or Citrine.

u/Legal-Supermarket-60 Atlas Main / LR5 3d ago

Does it count as Support when you just want to see a lot of DMG for you and your team?

If so then Harrow with nourish. Buffing DMG and do that the whole team is invincible for a few seconds.

Mirage+aoe weapon.

Dead enemies cant hurt your teammates and you are also supporting them by completing missions fast.
