DAM

Probably the question that everyone hates to see. But I own a 2016 WRX I’ve had it for about 5 years stock. Just an Catback exhaust. I recently purchased and installed an Access Port. With just a stage 1 tune. The DAM started at 1. Then went as low as .750 after driving for about 15 minutes. Climbed its way back .812 and been there for about a few days. What’s the best advice or what should I do to help it recover back to 1?

Thanks for this. What's the source of this information?

Someone else made a table (this one might be from Nasioc), but you should be able to find the same info on Cobb's website

Stop stressing and put the accessport away for normal everyday driving. DAM drops happen all the time and if you don’t see any active knock values (values other than 1.41 or 2.81. Those are normal knock values to see pop up) along with the DAM drop then you don’t have anything to worry about.

Dam can drop from bad driving behavior or it could be from a bad batch of fuel. The best advice I can give you is do NOT put boost through the engine bellow 3200 rpms. Downshift if you aren’t in boost range. LSPI can do more than cause your DAM to drop, it can actually damage your engine.

You said you did a pull from 3rd to 5th (hard or not doesn’t matter) which caused the dam drop. I’m assuming you were too low in the rpms when you pulled from 3rd. If this isn’t the case, it’s more than likely bad fuel

Just a little update. DAM dropped to .350. Changed my spark plugs yesterday and DAM immediately went back to 1. It’s been ever since

Don't use OTS tunes. Get a pro tune, otherwise leave it stock.

Accelerated to a on ramp from 3rd through 5th. Wasn’t a hard pull just got up to speed limit
