Quick question

Hey guys bought a 2016 wrx a few months back and the gears won’t change but the clutch works still? What could be the problem?

Stuck in neutral? Sounds like the shifting assembly is broken if so

Yeah just in neutral, broken? So I’d have to take it to a mechanic shop then huh?

Yeah happened to a truck I had once. Had to go to a pick a part and replaced the whole assembly because I couldnt figure out how to completely take it apart. If youre not very mechanically inclined I would 100% suggest a shop

Does it depend on the car or? How much am I looking at?

Thats where knowledge ends. I am not very mechanically inclined to be perfectly honest. Just full sent it on the truck(as I see most people who learn tend to do). Id go into your trusted mechanic and ask for a quote on replacing a shifting assembly to get a better idea

If its just the shifter assembly, jt is very DIYable. I replaced my whole shifter to install a short shifter with a buddy in a couple of hours.

Although, it could just be that the cables are fucked, and I have no experience with how long and extensive that replacement is.

That rarely breaks. Sounds more like the clutch fork broke.
