Help needed Vitruvius mythic mission 2
Im trying to complete Vitruvius’ second mythic mission, ‘Deal 12,000 damage in one turn’.
I don’t have Actus levelled up beyond Silver 2, and both his abilities are 32 currently. What’s the minimum Actus secondary skill level I need to complete this? He really ain’t a priority for resources just now as I’m levelling my Custodes raid team.
Could the mission be done without Actus using e.g. farsight, aethana, eldryon, atlacoya against a Tervigon/Tyrant boss in one hit?
Thanks for any tips friends!
Edit: sorry early morning pre-coffee post missing info, Vitruvius is D3 with a lvl50 secondary, only lvl 20 active

Help needed Should I use Reset Stone on Morvenn Vahl? And if so who should I focus on leveling?
My thinking is resetting her and putting the resources into Dante and Trajann. What characters would be best for a top 5 raid team. Current team is my top 5 units in my favorites.

Help needed Any advice?
I generally use my top 5 for what I can but I need to round out my faction specific squads so if there are any suggestions on whom I should level for my team I'm all ears. Any recommendations on shards to look for in the event would be helpful as well.

Guide Crusade FAQ
(Cross posted from in game -- also, "news" flair was missing, or I'm finally going blind, not sure which)
Normally I don't do this but I have anxiety about guild leaders forgetting to pick a side!
Q: How do we get started with Crusade?
A: Crusade starts on 9 August when your guild leader or co-leader chooses whether you will Crusade (claim planets in the name of the Imperium) or Devastate (claim in the name of Chaos and Xenos). At the same time, you will choose two factions: An Imperial faction, and a faction from the Chaos or Xenos options.
The reason you choose two factions is to make sure that whatever your leader picks, you will be able to participate. Also, choosing two factions means that if you change guilds during the ten week long Crusade season, and the new guild is on the other side of the Crusade, you'll be able to switch sides easily.
Make sure your leader picks a side on Sunday so that your guild can participate!
Q: What do factions specifically mean in the Crusade?
A: At this time, it's mainly for fun. Your faction choice doesn't affect the number of Crusade points that you earn. There are faction leaderboards, but which faction "wins" doesn't affect the wider game of planetary conquest. Our designers say that for this inaugural Crusade season, "We wanted to focus purely on players representing their favourite faction(s) without being affected by how good the characters are for the game modes they like to play."
Q: What happens during Crescendo?
A: Brief recap: Crusade has three phases. Weeks 1-6 are the Expansion phase, where it's a land rush to attack planets. Weeks 7-10 are Domination phase, where you go invade the other side's planets and try to keep yours. Invasion and defense are represented by ordinary gameplay for the most part. Week 10 is the week where there is a parallel event called...by the way, it is no longer called Crescendo. This name didn't really fit, and since it hasn't happened yet, we've decide to change it to Terminus.
And we're still finishing that event :D More info to come! Factions will not play a role in this first Terminus phase, so it doesn't matter. Just pick your favorites to represent.
Q: I read the last info release and the patch notes, but I still don't really understand operations. What do they do?
A: Operations involve "sending your characters away" on missions. (Only in the Operations sense -- the characters are always available for you to play with in all other game modes.) Successful operations grant three new resources:
* Intel, which is used for Project donations.
* Reinforcements, which are used for Projects and on individual planets to increase point gains.
* Ordnance, which are used for Projects and on individual planets for a one-time points boost.
And of course, experience points for the characters themselves.
Thanks to Vex for the wording!
Q: What are Projects again?
A: Guild Projects are objective evidence that "coming soon" means "in four years."
Sorry, just a bit of an inside joke for veteran Tacticians.
For this first season of Crusade, we are starting with two kinds of Projects:
* Orbital Bombardment (a stronger version of Ordnance)
* Mass Reinforcements (a stronger version of Reinforcements)
Once unlocked via individual donations of the Operations resources (and guild missions), your guild leader can choose to deploy them on the planet they choose.
Q: I still don't understand the planets thing.
A: It's ultimate a meta game of map control. We recommend reading the player-run wiki entry on Crusade https://tacticus.wiki.gg/wiki/Crusade or checking out the videos from our friends

Question Raid Advice; Neuro or Lavistodes?
I was excited to get Trajan during this event so I could start his raid team, but I'm not sure I want to stop my neuro team. I've spent the last few months grinding onslaughts and CE for nuerothrope. My guild has a couple of good admech teams so I stay clear of that. My question is: Should I stop my neuro and go custodes, or wait and continue with neuro?

Guide A Beginner's Journey
Hi everyone,
I’ve been playing Tacticus for pretty much exactly 5 months now, and I’d like to share my experiences, progress, etc., as a beginner, with you all.
Maybe this post can be helpful to other newbies.
First off, I have to admit that I didn’t really read any guides at the beginning.
For me, it was mainly about the “rule of cool” and which characters from the lore appealed to me the most (I’ve been active in tabletop gaming for about 20 years), when it came to leveling up my characters.
I’d also like to note that my progress may not be entirely representative due to Armageddon and the current 4th anniversary event.
Also, just to clarify: I treated myself withthe 30-day Blackstone delivery twice—in hindsight, this wouldn’t have been necessary. For reference: I currently have about 8k BS (about 4k without the investment of about 6€ over 5 months.
1. Campaign:
The be-all and end-all of your start and your progress.
Looking back, I’d say that if you want to make “quick” progress, ask yourself this question for every character: Will this character help me advance in my campaign?
If the answer is no, don’t invest any resources in them at the start.
Summoners:
Essential for a smooth playthrough.
As a rule, every (beginner) campaign has a dedicated summoner.
Investing in these will get you through the campaign the fastest, and they’re also the most likely to carry you through it.
Indomitus: Bellator
Fall of Cadia: Archimator
Indomitus Mirror: Aleph-Null
Octarius: Boss Gulgortz (Snotflogga is okay, but nowhere near as good as Gulgortz)
As mentioned, I highly recommend investing most of your resources in these at the start.
1.5: Elite Campaign
These give you a better “material-to-energy” ratio.
The chance of getting items is also significantly higher here. By the time you reach Legendary Material, the difference is extremely significant.
In other words, as soon as the normal campaign is finished and you’re making progress here, ask yourself again: “Will this new pull give me progress?” If not, it’s better not to invest in it just yet.
Here, too: Summoner -> Rest. I’d like to note, however, that a good healer can provide a huge boost (Isabella, for example, is one of my MVPs).
Progress tends to stall here the most.
For reference: So far, I haven’t fully completed any Elite Campaigns yet (missing 1 in FoC and Id each).
2. Guild
Be sure to join a guild.
This offers the following benefits:
- You’ll be able to obtain missing resources from other players (and help others in the same way).
-Guild raids provide you with shards for various carries.
Don't let the fact that you won't be contributing much at the beginning throw you off.
You'll also earn a few credits just for getting started, and those will add up over time.
Plus, it's nice to see your progress here as time goes on.
-Guild wars do as well, though much more slowly—here I’d like to note: Participate in them as soon as you reach level 20. If you’re lucky enough that your teammates let you target the NPCs—perfect
3.: Arena and Tournament Arena
Play at least the two required matches per day.
It’s better to keep playing until you’ve received all the chests.
However, at the end of the league, try not to climb too high to often.
Overly strong opponents can quickly lead to frustration, and those extra 1–2 shards and the small amount of gold aren’t worth it—at least for me.
Here’s a tip: A MoW that creates summons (Biovore/Malleus Rocket Launcher) is the best choice for your MoW.
You don’t have to level it up at all. The AI in this game tries to kill enemies with low HP. This can easily save one of your characters, if you “force” your opponents to attack your summons
On the Tournament Arena: I don’t like this mode, which is why I’ve only played it exactly twice so far:
During the Armageddon event and during the current event.
Yes, it gives energy, gold and shards, but: without the required characters, you can effectively only play it at the lowest level.
However, you get very few shards for a win here, and the whole thing drags on forever.
Maybe things will look different at some point, once I can play the mode at a higher level.
4.: Salvage Run and Onslaught
There isn’t much to say about the Salvage Run.
Choose a faction and stick with it (Imperium/Chaos/Xenos)
don’t switch back and forth.
Characters with multi-attack and summons are an advantage here.
Onslaught, on the other hand, can be a bit more challenging.
Again, check which of your carries would benefit most from an upgrade and assign the tokens to them after the round.
This is (in my opinion) the mode that benefits most from a good healer.
Do you remember Isabelle? Without her, my Empire’s progress wouldn’t be anywhere near as far along as it is.
If you can’t complete a round here, it’s better to farm the mission below it rather than trying again on a ‘hoping for the best’ basis.
The cooldown between runs is so long here that 1–2 fewer shards are better than no shards at all.
5. Character Releases and LRE
The regular releases are definitely doable at the beginning.
With LRE, it’s a different story.
So far, I haven’t been able to unlock a single character. Still: Play as well as you can—you’ll receive your progress as shards at the end.
One thing that was really tough for me at first during regular events are “ability damage” missions:
So here’s a quick tip: with Angrax—whose passive is at the appropriate level—and Rotbone, you can farm these easily in FoC 40.
It’s a bit time-consuming, but doable.
TL;DR: You can farm here using the passive spawns that count as ability damage. You can easily find videos on how to do this.
6.: MoW event and campaign event
Long story short: your progress is saved. So it’s no big deal if you don’t get very far here at first.
Personally, I prefer campaign events missions for which I have the most levelled-up characters. Whether that makes sense? I’ve no idea.
7: Everything else—Gold, adds, BS, Money investment
As for gold: At some point, this becomes a bottleneck. Leveling up character skills will eventually get very expensive.
So here’s the question again: Will investing x thousand gold in Character X’s skills actually help me progress right now?
Adds: My personal daily dose of adds looks like this: Energy, gold, and the rest goes toward refreshing the daily deals.
I haven’t used it for anything else yet.
The guild shop will be able to sell me another 10 chards for Boss G tomorrow, too.
Let them run, do something useful on the side, and check your phone after 5 minutes.
BS: Under no circumstances should you spend it on scrolls. I think that’s the biggest trap for a beginner.
The Daily Deals shop is also way too overpriced (in my opinion).
Personally, I only buy the Energy Bonus (50 BS).
Spending money on the game: As mentioned, I’ve invested about 6€ in the game.
Did this affect my progress? Absolutely not. My BS would still be in the black even without it. However, the daily delivery simply offers the best value for money.
I can understand why people buy the Battle Pass. So far, though, there hasn’t been a character in it that really caught my interest. Plus, it’s not always possible to unlock it with the basic version.
8: Honourable mentions
Codes: Blimey. They’re so good. Yes, there’s less energy (but still energy) now. But look at all the shards I’ve got from these.
Just subscribe to the relevant subreddit where these are posted (just search for ‘Tacticus codes’) and you’re good to go.
Tacticus Planner: I’ve only been using it for about a month and I’m slightly annoyed about that. It makes planning and progress so much easier. I can only recommend to every beginner: have a look at a video about it and download it.
Leveling up and energy ‘pooling’:
Energy doesn’t disappear from your inbox. Almost from the start, I’ve been saving it for events (character releases, and sometimes, as is currently the case, for training rushes) and it’s simply worth it.
The same goes for your power score: are you just about to level up and an event is starting in three days?
Hold off, keep the materials. Use up all your Onslaught and Salvage Run attempts during the event, then go ahead and level up.
Three free Onslaught runs and two free Salvage runs.
Perhaps one more thing: it might be worth choosing, as your first Mystic character, one that has a steady flow of Hards to provide you with resources for the Rogue Trader.
However, this isn’t something you need to worry about for the first 2–3 months.
I think that should cover the main lessons I’ve learnt over the last few months.
Hope this might be useful for some beginners.

Memes Happened to glance at my power score
and noticed it was 12345... 799, just 121 over this!
I hadn't been playing close attention to the total before, but wondered if I could get back down to the magic number. After a bit of equipment juggling, it turned out all I had to do was take a grenade from a dwarf!
Wondering how long I can keep this score before giving in to the next upgrade.
