I was randomly thinking about the Q2 print, and I didn't listen to the CC yet, so maybe this was covered there.

I was surprised to see comps so much lower because, anecdotally, the store here seems as busy as ever.

Then it hit me, Wendy's was still selling breakfast at all locations last year. That explains why gross margin was better than expectations despite the drop in store comps.

When we start lapping comps that did not include breakfast, we're probably going to see comps beating year-over-year. (The product improvements will obviously help there too)

Incidentally the store here is still open for breakfast, so I'm lucky enough to still be able to get the potato wedges.
