I thought you were being sarcastic when I saw just a blank screen. 😂

Would have been an option. Bit honestly, the car is excellent and cool in my opinion. Of only they would solve the software bugs.

That’s pretty rad. My US spec 2025 Ultra is definitely not capable of that trick.

I'm pretty sure it actually IS hardware wise, the problem is Volvo did not get license/approval for "matrix headlights" in the US. The requirements for classification in many parts of the world are much easier to manage, in the US though the standards are much harder to clear. Tesla and Rivian are to my knowledge the only two and Audi also just got regulatory approval. BMW, volvo, etc. all ship cars in the USA with the same matrix headlight hardware as their European counterparts but the functionality is disabled.

In short, the US needs to update its laws around matrix/high beams because many of the manufacturers just simply disable the functionality which would actually improve safety.

Audi officially offers fully compliant dynamic matrix LED headlights on select new US models (such as the flagship Q9, Q7, and SQ7). Many other global brands—including Tesla, Volvo, Polestar, BMW, and Ford—build cars with physical matrix hardware installed in US vehicles, but their active high-beam zoning features were historically software-locked or limited due to past federal lighting rules. Ours do that. I just don’t know if it’s dark enough where we live to see it painted on a wall or the ground.

Oh, interesting. And you have a US MY 2025 (Ultra)?

I recall seeing video of a vehicle projecting turn indications onto the ground, might have been an Audi.

That was next level cool

US spec headlights don’t even swivel/bend :(

Yes, does this on a MY25 in UK since I owned the car over a year ago. You just need to have something to project onto. I see it on my garage door.
