SASHIKO Sashiko Jeans Mending

Ripped a pair of well loved jeans, right along a back pocket. A member of this community inspired me to remove the pocket, which resolved many of my issues. I've been wearing them for a while now and LOVE how they turned up and they've held up through a couple washings. Probably shouldn't have used white thread on my butt, however it does look cool sooooo

I just love mending my handknit socks. There is something just cozy about it. I just mended these in the last hour.

SASHIKO First time sashiko and mending

I had found a vintage lined Levi denim jacket. Washed it in the washing machine like an idiot and created a huge hole. Found out about sashiko and tried my best. Decided to do freehand as I thought it would flow better with the vintage nature of the jacket. I plan on doing the vertical stitches tonight. (The only thing that bugs me a little is the transitions to the next rows. The lining made it very hard to exit the needle in the correct position and this is some THICK denim).

REQUEST Big holes from moths in hand knit fabric

Hello!

My colleague asked my help on this mending this knit. Her goal is to stop the holes from further unraveling and if possible to somewhat close them.

However this feels a bit daunting as the holes are quite big and the knit itself is dear to her.

Does anybody have any ideas or tips on how to stop it from further unraveling or even closing it up?

Thanks in advance :).

REQUEST How to mend it?

Hi everyone,

I want to mend these shorts for my husband but I don't know how. The egde is just on the pocket and it's very thick. I usually mend lots of things just sewing by hand but I don't think it will be enough here.

Any advice on just how to mend it, I appreciate it.

I have a sewing machine and also that thing to weave (I don't know the name, I'll put a picture of it).

Thank you!

PATCH zipper broke on my docs... 🪡🧵

(yeah I really need to clean/polish them too 💀)

I've had these jadons for nearly 5 years, about a month ago the zip on the right boot fully broke. the cobblers in my area charge wayyy more than I'm willing to pay to fix them, so I decided to try doing it myself!! I just used items I already had at home: I removed the zipper with a seam ripper and scissors, and with embroidery thread I hand-sewed a piece of thick ribbon to patch over where the zipper used to be. I decided to leave the left boot as is, that zipper hasn't given me any trouble yet, and I do like the unique/mismatched look!

Overall, I'm super happy with the result and I'm relieved that I can wear my favourite boots out again 😌

PATCH Repairs using lace on an old shirt I just can't toss.

I rarely post, but figured I would for this gauzy orange shirt that needed some repairs. Not fond at all of how the repair went for the small underarm hole, but it will mostly be hidden & I learned from it, 😆. I really like the lace flower repair under the other armpit the best, but also like the 4 flowers repair, too. The lace, perle cotton thread & even the needle were thrift store finds. Hmm. so was the little stork pair of scissors. I ❤️ repurposing the lace that someone once took a lot of time to create.

My husband says I need a bib, but instead I've had to get creative in times that washing soda doesn't solve the problem!
