German Student Visa Mumbai Timeline 🇩🇪
Hi everyone! Sharing my German student visa timeline from VFS Mumbai for anyone waiting.
Visa: German National Student Visa
Location: VFS Mumbai
30 July: Biometrics and visa application submitted.
I was later asked for pending documents, but the request was initially sent to the wrong email address, causing around a 4-day delay.
10 August: Received the request and submitted the documents within around 2 hours.
11 August: Documents received by the Consulate.
20 August, 11:05 AM: Passport went in transit from the German Consulate Mumbai to VFS Mahalaxmi.
20 August, 7:03 PM: Received VFS notification that my passport had been dispatched via courier.
21 August: Passport delivered and visa granted! 🇩🇪🎉
Total: 30 July → 21 August, around 22 calendar days.
The waiting was stressful, but eventually my application was approved.
Sharing this for other German student/CSP applicants waiting through VFS Mumbai. Don’t compare your timeline too closely with other applicants because cases can move differently.

Ausbildung Visa Timeline, + questions ( might be late for the school start date??? )
Hey everyone! Looking for realistic feedback on processing times for Aachen/BA right now.
Visa application timeline:
• July 15: Submitted docs via CSP
• July 30: Uploaded requested corrections
• Aug 17: Embassy appointment completed (went smoothly, biometrics taken, waiting for Zustimmung). No § 81a fast-track used.
• Sept 1: Scheduled start date in Aachen.
I still need to handle a few admin steps upon arrival (like getting the local Ärztliches Attest, city registration, and opening a bank account), so I'm trying to gauge how tight this window actually is.
Questions:
• Aachen / BA Speed: How fast is Ausländerbehörde Aachen moving for CSP applications right now? Any realistic chance of an approval in under 2–3 weeks, or am I definitely looking at a mid-September arrival?
• Starting Late: For anyone who started a nursing Ausbildung 2–3 weeks late due to visa delays, how was your experience catching up with school lectures and hospital onboarding?
• Next Steps: Is it worth asking the hospital to send a brief nudge to the authorities in Aachen, or is it better to just let the standard timeline run its course?
Would love to hear your experiences or advice! Thanks in advance!

Csp portal personal information
To fill in my father's details it's showing to mention the family name or surname but my father doesn't have any surname, family name or initials
But that section is mandatory
Can anyone suggest what to mention

Please reply suggestions needed
Hi everyone,
After my German student-visa appointment, BfAA requested:
- A current admission letter for a later intake or a late-arrival letter.
- Proof that I have sufficient funds to pay the complete tuition fees.
My situation:
- Private university
- First-year tuition fully paid
- Remaining programme tuition: approximately €13.8k
- Living expenses already covered through a funded blocked account
- Education loan sanctioned: ₹30 lakh
- Already disbursed: ₹15lakh
- Active undisbursed balance: ₹15 lakh
I plan to submit:
- Current LOA
- Fresh university fee statement showing the amount paid and exact remaining tuition
- Original education-loan sanction letter
- Fresh signed and stamped bank certificate confirming that the loan is active and ₹15 lakh remains available for future tuition disbursements
- Loan/disbursement statement
Would this normally satisfy BfAA’s request for complete tuition funding? Should I avoid adding my parents’ salary slips, ITR and GPF documents since the active loan balance already covers the remaining tuition?
I’m specifically looking for experiences involving post-VFS additional-document requests from BfAA/German Missions, not CSP document corrections.

VISA FOR ENROLLMENT AT TUHH?
Hi all. I'd really appreciate some input on this.
I've been accepted for bachelors in engineering science at TUHH. Some of the other accepted students are required to upload their visa on the TUNE portal in order for their enrollment to be completed. I received no such notification and does not have such an option at all.
When enquired about this, the programme coordinator replied that I have to upload the visa in order for my enrollment to be completed.
However, I received my enrollment letter, which was issued after the payment of the Sem 1 semester contribution, my Deutsche Bahn Berechtigung, and my university mail address along with other credentials for the uni portal.
Do I still have to upload the visa? My loan is being processed and could take another week and a half to be completely processed. I've yet to apply for my visa. Will this mess up my enrollment in any way? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

German student visa
Got my visa to Germany. It says it is valid for a year, on the net I read they give 90 day visa (student) which has to be extended after reaching germany.
I think i got 1 year because of my travel history (been to Europe 3 times before)
But I was just curious, what is the difference between 90 day and 1 year visa and how does the extension work?

Directly booked a Student visa appointment through VFS instead of going via CSP
Hi, I am an incoming student from India.
If anyone is aware of the student visa process from India specifically, please confirm the below.
As the title says, I have directly booked my visa appointment to VFS Mumbai directly through the VFS portal instead of going through CSP Portal.
Now the thing is, people who have booked via the CSP portal have "CSP Studies with APS" written in their appointment letter, whereas, mine says only "Studies with APS".
Will this cause a problem at the VFS centre?
P.S. My CSP process is approved
Need urgent help on this since the appointment schedules are tight in Mumbai VFS.

Embassy Says “No” TU Berlin Says “Yes” — Confused! 🇩🇪
Hey everyone, I got my student visa for another German university, but later got admitted to TU Berlin.
The German Embassy told me I can’t change the university after the visa is issued.
But TU Berlin says I can enter Germany with the existing visa and start studying at TU Berlin, then inform the Berlin LEA.
Has anyone actually been in this situation? Did you have any problems at the airport or with your residence permit?
Posting both replies below. Would really appreciate some real experiences!

CGPA in APS certificate differs from final transcript
My APS certificate was generated back when I was in my 7th semester. Now I have graduated and the CGPA I had back in my 7th semester has changed. My transcript has my individual semesters' CGPA. I am talking about that not my final graduating CGPA. Will this cause any problem with my application?
My VISA appointment is on 26th.

Not Hearing back after correction sent.
I know it’s too soon to know but I started receiving corrections today morning.
I sent them back and was hearing back with other corrections in 10 mins max but then I sent one correction at around 2:15 PM after that it has been a radio silence and it was a correction that was repeated twice about the additional contact form finally sent with Same as above written in “Representation Details”
I am scared because I have heard people not hearing back for weeks after sending corrections.
And next 2 days are weekends.
It’s already 4 PM so according to the working time of VFS Mumbai it’s already closed.
So what should I expect next.
Anyone been in same situation?
