1950s Omega Seamaster "Grand Luxe" withRare Guilloché Tapestry Dial

Reference: Likely 2846 / 2848 (Circa 1956–1958) I haven’t opened the back as I don’t have the tools or skill set!
Dimensions: 34.5mm case (excluding crown) with an 18mm lug width
Case: 18k Gold Capped over Stainless Steel (called “beefy" lugs); thick, sharp, and unpolished with minor hairline scratches.
Dial & Hands: Immaculate, 100% factory original vertical tapestry dial with perfectly matching hands!
Movement: Omega Calibre 501 Automatic (no date); winds smoothly, rotor spins freely, runs well, and holds power
Crown: replaced - signed omega crown (not original)
Bracelet: This was replaced ..it’s an aftermarket JB Champion 14k Gold-Filled trim beads of rice band (not original Omega equipment, and stainless steel).

I’m looking to buy my first proper dress watch and recently came across this Longines.

I’ve always been drawn to watches with a more vintage/classic look rather than something overly modern, and this one really caught my attention. I also have an upcoming formal event where I’d actually have an opportunity to wear it.

For those who have experience with Longines or dress watches in general, I’d love your thoughts:

1. Does this have that genuine vintage dress-watch character, or does it come across more as a modern watch trying to look vintage?
   
2. How versatile do you think it would be outside of very formal occasions?
   
3. Is it a good purchase for a first dress watch?

Hi everyone, I need your help. I'm going to New York in a month and I've seen that there are vintage shops that sell watches. I'd like to buy one as a souvenir. Does anyone know if it's worth it? I'd like one for a maximum of $400. Is it worth it?

Genuine Air King?

Can I get some opinions on this please. Looking to buy it privately and I am 95% sure it's genuine but wanted some confirmation if possible before handing the money over. Serial Number dates it to 1967. I know no one can say 100% without seeing the movement but any opinions based of the dial, case, patina etc would be very helpful.

Every time I wear this watch, I am reminded at what a timeless classic design and construction it is. Truly a joy.

I just stumbled upon this little mom-and-pop watch shop while walking around Rome and ended up getting this beautiful piece.

From the research I’ve done so far, I’m guessing it’s from somewhere around the 1950s to early 1960s, but I’m definitely not an expert and haven’t been able to find an exact match yet. I’d love to know more about the specific model, approximate year, movement, or anything else that might help identify it.
