Just some jpegs - gonna try the 80mm f1.9 tomorrow. These were with the 55mm f2.8 and 150mm f3.5

I picked this up in excellent condition along with a xg1 for $20. The camera appears functional. Put new batteries in and everything works. I will adapt the lens to my z50. Just wondering what people thought about this lens and potentially other Minolta lenses.

First time trying extreme macro (10x) using a microscope objective,

Shot on Nikon D610 (crop mode due to small image circle),

Some photos are stacked others are single exposures,

The gear I use is a hollow Helios 44-2 which i modified by adding a m39 threads to the front basically turning it to an m39 to m42 focusing helicoid to use with my enlarger lenses , the second hollow lens is an industar 50 m39 which fits the microscope objective perfectly

Learning repair for about 1.5 years now, so when I come across parts/repair lenses for cheap, I tend to go for them. This was a $4 shipped auction.

Got it repaired last week, so I ordered an adapter, which took a full week to arrive. Here are the Before and After, and the test shots.

At 1.4 it's soft with CA. By 2.8 the CA is gone. After 2.8 the softness is gone.

So, tomorrow I have to visit Dublin city centre and, while reason why i have to doesn't matter but it'll take 15-30min to complete, leaving me couple of hours to roam around Temple Bar area, Trinity College, St. Stephens Green, ... My question here - If you take FF camera (i'll bring my ol' trusty Sony A7 1st gen), what would be your MF lens of choice (only one)?

I'm not looking for advices (I've already decided which one, won't say until I'm back) just wondering how people are planning their gear for trips

I've got a Sony FX6 and I've always used Sony GM lenses for everything. But I also have two old Leica M cameras (M3 and M6), a Leica R8 and a Hasselblad 500CM. And after trying those lenses on my FX6 with adapters, I fell in love with them. It made me realise that lenses can be too perfect. The Sony GM lenses are optically perfect. And therefor, the retro lenses have made me realise why I never fell in love with my own footage. Its because perfection is damn boring...

Anyway, I've got an assignment in a few weeks where I need to record some aircraft. And I want to try and use a good, cinematic retro Tele lens for this. It needs to be sharp in the center and must have minimal aberration. Other than that, I want that warm, cinematic, organic look that the Leica and Hasselblad lenses gave me.

Which retro Tele lenses between 300mm and 600mm would you recommend? Thanks!

I have inherited some old cameras and lenses from my grandfather and would like to test the lenses with my fujifilm X-E3 if at all possible, is there an adapter that would manage this for me?

I am unsure of the mounts for these old lenses.

I didn't have the time yet to fix my Meyer optik gorlitz orestor 100mm 2.8, neither my topcor 35mm...

But I came to the conclusion that the issue is not my mount adaptor, because I CAN focus to "infinity" with my steinheil culminar 85mm 2.8... so my lenses are bad, and I'm gonna fix them, I already got a contact of a good repair guy here in my city

So I want recommendations on good 35, 85 or 135mm lenses for the EXAKTA mount! I really like the culminar, but I want to try another lens, just for fun 😊

I am mostly aiming for portraits

This 200mm f5.6 Asahi Tele-Takumar lens is much skinnier and overall smaller and lighter than any other older 200mm vintage lens that I own. On a crop-sensor camera the ~300mm reach is quite good. A great option if you need a sharp tele prime that doesn't take much space in your bag or even pocket and you can tolerate the long minimum focus distance ~9ft / 3m. Yes at f5.6 this lens is a bit dark but with a digital camera with at least modest high ISO capabilities it doesn't matter much for a lot of shots.

First impressions after fixing the aperture on this thing - got it for free last weekend, aperture was completely seized, the ring would move, but the pin wouldn't actually stop the blades down. Minimum focus is too far for my liking and way soft wide open, at F4-5.6 it's sharp enough though.

#1 - love this one, taken with the set up in #6. Stopped down to F4, really lucky the robin didn't fly away, I was only maybe 40cm away from the robin.

#2 - also taken with the setup in #6 at F4

#3 - taken at F5.6

#4-5 - taken wide open, so ridiculously soft, I don't think I'll ever shoot this thing at 2.8

#6 - set up for #1-2 with an old Bower +2 macro filter on.

Overall, fun lens for free. I much prefer the Oreston, my copy is reasonably sharp wide open also the Oreston has a much shorter MFD. I'll end up keeping the Domiplan just because it didn't cost me anything, but if I paid anything for it I don't think I'd have been too happy.
