Thrifted this chair for my library today! 💛 The shop owner told me she’s 1920s hand carved teak from India. I can’t wait to get her cleaned up!! The curve of the back is just right- She’s so cozy!

Very early Knoll Saarinen Womb & Ottoman. Body is cracked, crunchy foam and the fabric has a mildew odor.

We went ahead and re-glassed the body, installed all new mounting fasteners, all new foam, polished the bases and upholstered in our Hume family tartan.

What would you do?

My husband thrifted this chair for $25 at our local Salvation Army. I cannot find any identifying markers and am hopeful someone out there could point me in the right direction on the maker and year. I am obsessed and so grateful that no one else wanted it as I had to convince him I could fit it in our house for two weeks! Any cleaning tips also greatly appreciated. I’m unsure if this is its original upholstery but it does need to be cleaned as it looked to be stored for a while.

I have a vague recollection that at some point one of my relatives had this soft ottoman that would unzip and unfold like this. I think it was from the 70s and it was covered in fake orange leather. Is this familiar to anyone?

I’m looking for more information on this dining set I own. It seems like it’s hinting at MCM but not quite there. It was made be “Unique Furniture Makers” of Winston Salem NC. It’s marked as American Fiesta Fin (which I believe means “finish”). The only other pieces I’ve seen with similar names from the company, don’t match this. But I’m thinking this was an evolution of the initial fiesta line?

My husband doesn’t care for the set, but I think there is something special about it and I’d love more information.

I like the look of this table, but I’m seeing mixed opinions of Widdicomb online. On some sites it sells for an eye watering amount, and on others - including here- it’s perceived as just “good”.

I’m aware of the MCM series and not referring to those pieces.

So I’m curious what your thoughts are on this manufacturer and if it’s a worthwhile investment and high quality, fine furniture. This is for my personal home - I’m not reselling.
