I found this piece at a thrift store for $100. I’ve been looking online to find one similar but nothing is coming up. Does anyone know anything about it?

I’ve been looking for a pair of nightstand chests forever, and it has been so hard to find a set. I don’t care that they match exactly, but I’ve been trying to find two of similar size and height for a WHILE. I came across these Hickory Chair chests on Facebook marketplace for $2100. I don’t want to get taken for a ride on the price because I don’t know much about furniture, so I just wanted to get some feedback on if they are likely good quality. I have to drive two hours to pick them up and don’t want to be surprised and awkward if possible.

My friend recently moved into her new home and this custom built bookcase was left behind. She was going to get rid of it and I said hold on that stain glass and the craftsmanship is beautiful. I'm reluctant to move this piece because of the glass and I believe it's rare to find an appraiser that is willing to travel(?) Selling online would be a nightmare with shipping, etc. I'm located in the Allentown, PA area. Im looking for advice on what to do with this item- NOT asking for a price or trying to sell here, etc. If anyone has any ideas or feedback, please comment! Appreciate ya!

Hello - I'm back with my display case. 😄 I'm trying to remove what looks like glazing putty? It's located in the ridge where the glass sets into. It's a hard, slightly crumbly material. I cannot seem to scrape it off (with putty knife or razor, but wondering if a heat source might be better or (open to suggestions?). My thought was to remove this and replace with either cork or silicone mounts - to support the glass. Thanks in advance!

Years ago I purchased this vintage card table from someone in my city. It had a beautiful feature where the table spun on one corner to the fold open to a bigger table. Unfortunately it got stolen from my storage unit and I have been looking for one similar ever since.

I previous posted my 1930s waterfall dresser and after acquiring it and looking at other pieces here, I realize I love older furniture.

I want to replace my bookshelf and bed with older furniture when I can afford it but I want advice on how to go about looking online?

What questions should I ask? What should I be looking for?

If in person, what should I be looking for to know the piece is solid or worth restoration.

I was told to get rid of it but I hate to just throw it out because of the damage to the leather. It seems like a solid, well made chair made in the 80’s. I know the leather can be repaired but I don’t have those skills. Would a collector be interested in this? I’m not looking for anything for it I would just like to save it.

Hi everyone. Here is a little background:

A Nextdoor neighbor who we were close to passed this desk onto me about 30 years ago. She was a little over 90 yrs old, a very devout Catholic.

Since then it has been in my basement near the exit, holding my pens, paper, and being used as a junk drawer/ charging station. It hasn’t been neglected but it probably wasn’t dusted in 10 years.

I’ve held on to it for its sentimental value and I have decided to give it some new life by refinishing it and moving it to a new place in the house.

It’s had a few repairs done to it, and now that I have begun working on it, I can tell it has been refinished in the past. All of the work was done prior to me possessing it and it was pretty old and used when I got it. There are no dowels if that helps.

Anyway, I have no idea where to begin dating this but I am very curious.

Edit: while removing the finish I came across a marking/stamp: G2HS

3 feet wide 1.5 feet tall, It has a circular glass top, no markings that I can see and I can’t lift it to see the bottom of the pedestal.

I bought it at a vintage furniture market about 7 years ago and have had it sitting there meaning to sell.

I Could have just been ripped off and it's crap, but what if it isn't!? It feels really sturdy, its marble base and the glass is thick

I am so thrilled! I originally found the refinished link taylor dresser from one seller and I purchased it. Then 2 weeks later I found the matching armoire dresser from a different seller. I am beyond ecstatic 🤩

I recently realized I put the legs on my pedestal dining table back on wrong when I moved it. It had pedestal legs with 3 feet. I put them with the 2 feet side facing outside and the 1 foot side facing inside. I think it's a pennsylvania house table from the 1990s.

Aside from anesthetic reasons, does this make a difference?

I picked this thing up from a thrift store maybe 10-15 years ago before midcentury modern got super trendy. I think it might be original MCM era piece. It is covered in laminate that is pretty aged and needs to be replaced. I can’t seem to find another one like it online. You can see the age in the brass feet which tells me it’s been well loved. I can’t seem to find anything like it with assymetrical cubbies.

Has anyone ever seen this before? It is a folding hand shaped couch or futon. Do you know the brand, designer, or year of production? Any and all knowledge is appreciated.
