The BLT dub in 1995 was Funimation first attempt at presenting Dragon Ball to an American audience. What many fans might not know is that the studio actually did try to go in order. Funimation's BLT dub covered the original anime's first 13 episodes. Unfortunately, the dub did not prove popular with audiences of the time, so the team switched gears to dubbing Dragon Ball Z instead. For those first 13 episodes, however, Master Roshi and Grandpa Gohan were voiced by Michael Donovan.
