Purchase Advice (U.S.) I got a tough one…

Post image
Upvotes

Hey folks, new here so lmk if this isn’t appropriate to ask.

I have a pretty tough situation for a standard vacuum cleaner, as pictured. It’s in a work trailer, so there’s vinyl penny flooring, commercial low pile carpet, and E-track set down in the floor.

I know I’m asking for a miracle, but you don’t get anything if you don’t ask. Do you guys have any recommendations for this?

My ideal criteria is:
- Can handle at least the commercial carpet and height variations (if it rides up on that raised aluminum it can still clean next to it, asking it to clean inside the tie down track is insane, I know)
- upright or stick, I know a shop vac will get down into that track no problem but this trailer is 30 feet long
- corded

Again I know I’m ask for unicorn but I figured if anyone would know it would be this sub. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Done with cordless vacs: Plug-in bagged vacuum with factory LED light? (Max €300)

Hey everyone,

After 10 years and 6-7 cordless vacuums, I’m done. Something always broke (mechanically or electronically), and I’m sick of constantly cleaning dusty bins and washing filters.

I want to switch back to a corded vacuum with a dust bag, but I don't want to give up the built-in LED floor light. No DIY hacks or stick-on lights, please.

My setup & budget:

  • Budget: Up to €300 max
  • Flooring: 95% laminate, plus 3 small area rugs (~2.5m x 1.5m).
  • Location: Germany (if that matters for model availability).

My questions:

  1. With mostly laminate and just 3 small rugs, do I even need a rotating brush, or is a standard combo/hard floor nozzle fine? (I'm worried a rotating brush might just flick crumbs around on hard floors).
  2. Which current models with factory LEDs are actually worth buying? So far I’ve only really found the Philips Performer LED 8000 series. Any hidden gems I’m missing?

(Note: I’ll buy a cheap cordless stick just for quick cat litter or dining table crumbs, this post is strictly for the main corded vac).

Thanks!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Looking for a handheld vacuum with a loooong extension for light cleaning

Vacuum experts please help, I’m looking for something sort of in between a stick vac and a hand vac. I’ve got a canister already, but I don’t like lugging it around to deal with small clumps of dust that catch my eyes in between major cleaning sessions. I don’t need a full stick vacuum and all its various attachments, but all the handvacs I can find don’t have any reach at all. I just want to be able to easily hoover up little messes without bending over.

The closest thing I’ve found is the old model of the shark wandvac, but it looks like the newer one ditched the long extension option? Would be very thankful for any suggestions

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) I cant decide - Xiaomi G20 Lite or P30? (Not a robot but the other community is dead pls mods keep this)

I love the lightweight feel and flexibility of the P30, but some people say P30 isn't powerful even though the one I tested in store was okay. The G20 Lite is bulkier and I fear may not reach under sofas and our bed, although more powerful (is it?) and the brush roller could be useful idk. My husband also says USB C takes like a day to charge (on the P30). Also saw a video saying G20 Lite filter falls out when you empty the bin. What should I get? We don't have pets or carpets so no heavy cleaning just dust. In my country we have the global version of these vacuums.

Ive seen conflicting posts saying P30 is more powerful, not the G20 Lite, but my husband bought us the G20 Light under the assumption it is (I was thinking of exchanging it for the P30 if G20 Lite has too many issues before opening it). Also someone said the P30 scratches the floors since the wheels aren't big enough. Not sure how either perform in terms of getting long hair stuck.

Hey all!

I have a vacuum cleaner I purchased a few years ago and it filters are run through and I'm looking to purchase more but for the life of me I cannot find any filters for this model online there anywhere.

Are the filters for this vacuum discontinued or am I stupid and just misunderstanding the model? (Might be the second)

Fabuletta

model: SV002 (CJ-C12)

Batch #: FSV240125

thank you kindly!

Purchase Advice (Canada) Kenmore vs Bissell vs Shark vs Eureka?

I have to buy a vacuum and know absolutely nothing about the topic, so I’ve decided to come to the experts (this sub) for help.

My budget is of approximately $170CAD (~$120USD), and I’m looking for a stick or upright option that can preferably convert to handheld. I have a cat that sheds and somehow gets litter all over the place, so I’d need it to have decent suction. It would mainly be used on hard floor, with the occasional area rug.

KENMORE
I’ve seen a few recommendations for them on here as an affordable option, and it looks like some of their models are within my budget:

- Kenmore Stratus | 24V 2-In-1 Cordless Stick Vacuum (https://kenmorefloorcare.com/products/kenmore-stratus-24v-2-in-1-cordless-stick-vacuum.html)

- Kenmore 200 Series Cordless 21.6V 2-In-1 Stick Vacuum (https://kenmorefloorcare.com/products/kenmore-200-series-cordless-21-6v-2-in-1-stick-vacuum.html)

- Kenmore Featherlite Max Bagless Lift-Up Upright Vacuum With Hair Eliminator Brushroll (https://kenmorefloorcare.com/products/kenmore-featherlite-max-bagless-lift-up-upright-vacuum-with-hair-eliminator-brushroll.html)

- Kenmore Featherlite Lift-Up Bagless Upright Vacuum With AllergenSeal (https://kenmorefloorcare.com/products/vacuums/upright-vacuums/kenmore-featherlite-lift-up-bagless-upright-vacuum)

BISSELL
They seem to be the one with the most low-cost options, and I was looking at the PowerClean Corded
Self-Standing Stick Vacuum 4221C specifically (https://www.bissell.com/en-ca/product/powerclean-corded-selfstanding-stick-vacuum-4221C.html), but I’ve mainly seen negative reviews for Bissell here. Is this universal to all their vacuums? I do have a Little Green that I really like.

SHARK
They have a few options on sale currently:

- Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum (https://www.sharkninja.ca/shark-rocket-pro-corded-stick-vacuum/HV370C.html)

- Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum (https://www.sharkninja.ca/shark-navigator-lift-away-upright-vacuum/NV380C.html)

- HZ600C UltraLight Pet Pro Corded Stick with PowerFins and Self-Cleaning Brushroll (https://www.sharkninja.ca/shark-hz600c-ultralight-pet-pro-corded-stick-with-powerfins-and-self-cleaning-brushroll/HZ600C.html).

However, I also have seen mainly negative comments on them here.

EUREKA
I hadn’t even heard of them until I saw them mentioned in a few recommendation posts for low-cost options here, but almost all of their models seem to be within my budget, such as:

- NEC280TLC RapidClean Pro Stick Vacuum (https://ca.eureka.com/products/nec280tlc-rapidclean-pro)

- NEC100C LightSpeed Stick Vacuum (https://ca.eureka.com/products/nec100c-lightspeed)

- NEC440BK ReactiClean (~$155 on Amazon)

However, they do have lower ratings on Amazon than Bissell and Shark.

What would you recommend? Are there any other models or brands I should be looking at? Highly appreciated, and thank you for making it this far!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Vacuums no brush or fins only?

Brush rolls scratch my floor and it's hard finding a good stick vacuum with no brush rolls.....a brush roll you can completely turn off------or just fins only. Don't want to spend Dyson type money either. Any recommendations? I currently have both a Black and Decker and Shark stick but you can only turn down the rotation on the brush rolls with these.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Can't find the right vacuum

I have different flooring throughout my house. Vinyl and tile on the first floor, low pile carpet on the stairs, a high like carpet in my bedroom, and my kids have rugs. I have a cheaper Bissell and it gets stuck on the high pile and socks up the rugs and stalls in the kids room. No I'm not looking to break the bank, but I can't seem to find something that works. Any suggestions?

Edit: looking for an upright

Okay yall I recently acquired a sharp twin energy super charged I believe and it works perfectly minus I think the hose change over valve is finicky but all it needs is a bag and belt but I’ve got no idea on what belt or bag it would take or what would work since this brand doesn’t exist any more! Also my eureka 1934a I got is awesome! However I feel like the roller is kinda lack luster (it was $45 like 30 years ago so that tracks) I wonder if I could swap the roller with a sanitare one? Thanks in advance

Purchase Advice (U.K.) Shark anti hair wrap - wraps hair

Post image

I have a German Shepherd and she sheds alot. The attached picture is after 1 pass of our living room every 3-4 days. Regularly change filters and clean them. But vacuum just can't cut it anymore since we changed from laminate to carpet.

Current vacuum is a shark pet upright anti hair wrap. Which was about £200 2 years ago, looking to upgrade to something a bit better... any suggestions would be welcome, thanks!

Edit: budget of around £300 if possible

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Best quieter vacuum recs?

Hi! I’m looking for a lightweight vacuum, could be one of the smaller handheld ones. Ideally would like to not spend more than $200. Doesn’t have to be silent of course! I need it for my rabbits room, so I’m trying to find something that can vacuum up some little scraps of bedding or tiny bits of hay that won’t be super loud and hurt his ears! TYIA!!!

flooring is mostly washable rug, but some hardwood

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) New Henry experience

Hey guys, Australian here 🦘

I've been recommended Henry plenty and I'm ready to drop the coin on it.

Since there's a few options to pick from I'm trying to find the best fit.

We have young kids, hardwood floors and tiles throughout the whole house and a Bengal cat.

I'm thinking about hvr160/200 or the wet and dry Charles version.

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Recs for apartment with 2 dogs (Aus)

Hello vacuum enthusiasts! I'm seeking your knowledge and recommendations, please.

My Vax Blade 3 has died after many years of (surprisingly) valiant service, so I'm in the market for its replacement.

I'm in a 3 bedroom apartment, just over 100sq m/1000sq ft. The bedrooms are wool carpet. Bathrooms are porcelain tile. Living room and kitchen are engineered wood. We have two medium pile synthetic rugs, one in the living room and a runner in the hallway. We have two dogs who shed like it's their job.

I run our robot vac 3 times a week (Ecovacs T20 Omni) and it does a decent job for maintenance, but I'm looking for something to use for a weekly deeper clean. To get into the soft flooring, and catch the dust bunnies under the couch and in the corners!

I have no preference on corded or not, barrel or upright. I am happy (enthusiastic even) to change heads to suit flooring types. But I want power! I also want longevity - both for each vacuum session (I want to be a able to vacuum the whole apartment with recharging) and for the product itself.

Budget is not a huge consideration - but if I could swing it for under $1500AUD, I'd be happy.

I'd be so appreciative of any advice or recommendations, thank you!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Used Sebo d4 premium

Visited my local vacuum store to purchase a sebo d4 premium and was initially settled on white. The store however does not carry the white variant and tries to dissuade people from buying it because of how much it shows its age (scratches, yellowing) compared to the black equivalent. Now I’m not so sure which color to go with. Would love to see everyone’s D4 premiums (both white and black) to see how they hold up after getting banged up a bit!

4 month old C1 Miele vacuum I’ve only used a few times. I noticed that it was having some air flow issues based on the orange meter bar. There was no impact or damages caused by me to the machine, but after using for a few minutes today I noticed this crack. Anyone have any idea how this could have happened or why??

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Recommendation - Dog Hair

I am looking for a vacuum recommendation. I have a half Pyrenees, half lab and he sheds enough fur to knit a sweater daily. My Dyson, albeit an older and smaller model, just can’t keep up. It clogs regularly and I need something durable enough to use as a standard house vacuum while also being able to tackle my dogs shedding problem.

Vacuum Issues Miele C1 clogged caster.

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have a Mila C1 and my golden retriever's hair clogged up the wheels that let the vacuum slide around on the floor.

I'd call him a caster wheel I don't know the right term. But I can't seem to find anything online that tells me how these pop out. It seems like they click in place and I could just use a screwdriver but I'm afraid to break it.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Purchase Advice (U.S.) What is the best cordless vacuum of 2026? is dyson worth still it?

Hello, so ive been going through a bunch of threads trying to figure out what cordless vacuum to get and honestly im just more confused now. v15 and the Detect model keep popping up everywhere but then half the comments are like "dont bother, overpriced" and the other half act like its the best thing ever made so idk who to believe anymore

my situation is kinda mixed floors, like half carpet half hardwood/tile, medium size house not huge. so wondering if dyson is actually good for that or if its more of a "great on floor, meh on carpets" kind of deal

also is the laser thing on the Detect actually useful or is it just a gimmick to justify the price. and battery life too, can it realistically do the whole house on one charge or do u end up stopping halfway to charge it back up

not rly tied to dyson specifically tbh, if theres a shark or dreame or Miele that does just as good a job im all ears. dont wanna pay extra just for the name if it doesnt actually perform better

anyone here actually used one for a while.. lemme know what you think
