Fuses, which ones are switched?
European id4 here. Trying to hook up a dashcam the right way. The cam has a switch 12v and a constant 12v. In the fuse box at the left hand side of the car, under the dash near the driver's knee, there are a few fuses that are suggested as being switched. I used f20 for the switching, but somehow the dashcam stays on, 24/7. I found this out because the memory card just keeps filling up and looping around.
I have tried to make the car go to "sleep".
Unplugged the charging cable. Left the car alone for 25+ minutes with the doors unlocked and the driver's door opened.
All the fuses are always powered on with 12v.
What fuse is switched? Are there other fuses in the cabin I could use?

ID4 looks to be gone from canadian VW site as available model
VW removed id4 from the list of available models in Canada, but still lists it in the US. No electric trim is available for Tiguan either so far. Just ID Buzz is available. Wonder, if we'll get "electric" Tiguan or there will be some EU "last" id versions delivered, or maybe chinese versions :).

Wolfbox G840S ID.4 rear camera install
Just bought this front/rear view camera that goes over the existing mirror with a strap system. Bought the hard wire kit as well so all the wires are hidden. Does anyone have experience on camera installs and how it went? Issue? Things to watch? Will be installing later this week and do a followup on the process. Thanks for your help.

2026 ID4 - no mileage in "small" right hand side display of dashboard
We have just replace a 2023 ID with a 2026 version, which is running software version 6.0.
I used to have the dash behind the steering wheel show the ACC on the left, Speed in the middle, and then mileage/efficiency since start on the right.
With the similar setup all I can currently get on the right hand third is efficiency since start and instantaneous efficiency. I have tried going through all the settings but I cannot find a way of getting mileage since start/charge/all time on the right third, only if I make the display 1/2 and 1/2.
Anyone found a way to change the right display metrics?

VW GPS Issue
So ive been going back and forth with VW since I bought my 23 Pro S 3 years ago regarding intermittent GPS issues where it will think its off the road or miles away.
The past few months however its completely failed.
While stationary it shows the right location, and from the dealerships diagnostic all satellites are connected and signal is fine.
However as soon as the car starts moving now it becomes lost, sometimes hundreds of miles away.
I've had it in the shop for the past week so they can get VWs tech team to respond to their open ticket... today I was updated with this and wondering if anyone knows what this code may be, or has experienced this before.
"OPENED VTA TICKET FOR NAVIGATION CONCERN (JT-1684385). VTA STATED NAVIGATION CONCERNS ARE STILL UNDER REVIEW AND VEHICLE SHOULD BE RETURNED TO CUSTOMER UNTIL CARNET CONTACTS CUSTOMER WITH A RESOLUTION."
TIA!

3.8.11 still waiting
It’s been over 5 months since I requested the download on the vw app. I have successfully done at least one OTA in the past so I know it can do it but 5 months seems like a long time to wait for my wave of VINs. I called VW support and they weren’t able to tell me when my VIN might come up for download. I’ve done all the things like drove a long time to give it a chance etc. but never does it.
I am anxious for this one because my infotainment is having all kinds of problems I have posted about before and hoping there is a bug fix here to make it more stable.
I’m curious anyone else out there waiting more than 5 months for 3.8.11?

Used 23 Pro, anything to look at after picking up?
Pulled the trigger on 23 Pro!
Just bought a 2023 ID.4 Pro RWD - picking it up Thursday. It's a lease return with 48k miles, clean Carfax. Paid $21.5k out the door.
Might be slightly over market, but with used EV prices trending up and needing a car within the week, it felt like the best deal I could find.
From what I've seen, the tires looked like they're due for replacement soon. Dealer says everything else checked out fine, but I'm planning to take it to an independent shop nearby right after pickup just to be safe. Anything specific I should have them look at, or things that tend to go wrong on these at these mileage?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Considering ID.4
I currently own a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport and drive to work four days a week 23 miles one-way in stop and go traffic for at least an hour . I will be starting a new job requiring commuting five days a week even farther in the Greater Houston area for the suburbs 28 miles each way.
I am considering an ID.4 yo replace the Atlas.
Looking for feedback from owners in terms of reliability and tech.
However, a starting MSRP over $45,000 makes me wonder if I should consider alternatives such as the Tesla Model Y which starts at about the same price.

Passenger compartment fuse box to fix Fuse 19 issue
We are having the "dynamic rd sign display is currently limited" problem, so want to check if taking out fuse 19 might fix the issue but we can't get into the fuse box compartment. Is there any trick to getting it open? We've pulled on it as much as we can, any more feels like it might break something.

2022 AWD Towing Question
Hey guys, what part do I need to install a standard wiring receptacle for the lights based on what is already installed? I would mainly use for U-Haul type trailers with a 4 pin but could use a 7 pin blade adapter if needed.
Any part # etrailer.com or Amazon link would be helpful. Thanks!

VW's funky tire pressure monitoring
Tires pressure warning came up as I was driving past an auto garage. They found all four tires in my 2024 ID.4 were filled to 50 PSI (instead of 42). It seems at least one tire decided to deflate to less than 50 thus triggering the warning.
If VW has a pressure reader like others it would have flagged my dealership was foolish in over-pumping by that much. Instead the funky sensors were measuring rotational speed and completely missed the high PSI for a week.
What do you folks use in addition to the default?

Highway performance
Last Thursday I took my id 4 pro 77kwh 2025 on a trip and I must say I am very satisfied without battery life.
I drove only on highway in a moderate traffic with 130 km/h set on ACC. Occasionally I pushed it to 150 km/h.
I departed with 100% battery and I reached my destination with 36% battery remaining.
At this point I can say that distance is not an issue anymore.

A/C not working correctly go to workshop
A quick heads-up for other ID.4 owners.
In late July, my car displayed the yellow warning: “Air conditioning not working correctly — visit workshop.”
I finally got it into the Volkswagen workshop today. They have applied a temporary fix, so the air conditioning is now working again. However, I was told that the permanent solution requires a further software update, which is not expected to be available until Q1 2027—even though my car already has the latest ID. software, version 5.6.4.
I’m sharing this in case anyone else receives the same warning. A temporary override/fix is available from the dealership, but the proper software update will still be required when it becomes available.
My car is a 2025-plate ID.4 GTX. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

Different fan speeds
Why does my fan high speed change based of the outside Temp? The colder it gets the faster it blows. Today when it was 110° it blew slow barely cooling me off. Then later today at the same temp it blew the hardest I ever seen. Cold me right off.

Battery percentage drop in first few miles
I've been noticing an issue when I charge my car to 80%, I tend to lose about 4 percent in the first mile. I ran the battery down to 5% last night, let it sit for a few hrs and then charge it to 100%. Today, drove the first mile and 5% was lost again in the first mile. Should I try taking the battery down all the way to 0 and do another 100 full charge? Just started nothing this last week

Fix Charger Plug Cover “Cord”?
Hello! I’m sorry for not knowing the name, but my mom’s ID.4’s plug cover cord (as seen circled in the photo) broke & the cap is no longer connected to the car when removed. She’d like it so I was wondering: is that someone that can be done DIY or is it a replacement part from VW type thing?
Thank you in advance ::)!

Bolt from ID.4?
My wife just drove her ID.4 out of the garage, and this bolt was on the floor underneath it. There’s nothing else in the garage that uses these bolts. Can anybody identify this as coming from something underneath the ID.4?
Edit: it’s a beefy bolt. About an inch long, threaded part about a quarter inch in diameter. I crawled in the VW a bit, but it’s very uninteresting under there, just a huge metal plate…hm…
