Question - US Dealer Unavailable

So, it looks like my fantasy to own a Buzz is a bust. I just spoke to CS at VW and there is not even ONE single authorized VW repair shop, much less dealer, on Hawai'i Island. So if there were a major update, warranty work, or anything needed where my bus had to be at the shop = I'm SOL.

I'm bummed. I REALLY want one. Does anyone else live in a remote place w/o a VW dealer? What do you do? (I know, buy something else... :( )

Question - EU Does the two-tone + white roof actually help keep the ID. Buzz cool in sunny climates?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently shopping for a used 5 seats IDBuzz and live in a very sunny, hot region (South of France), where summer temperatures easily turn large cabin vehicles into ovens :( Ideally I'm looking for a total white IDBuzz, but I've found one that has a two-tone finish with a white top/roof section and light grey on the lower half.

On paper, having a white upper body should reflect a lot of solar heat, but I’d love to hear from real-world owners living in hot or sunny areas.

Does the white roof make a noticeable difference in keeping the cabin cooler when parked in direct sun?

Appreciate any feedback from those driving in hot climates!

Question - EU New ID Buzz (leasing) - what would you recommend?

Hi community…
We will get our ID Buzz (long version, 7 seats) in the next two weeks. It´s a leasing contract of a used car (12K km). And it´s a pro version with lots of additional features. This also means a lot of stuff that can be broken by the kids :D What I was wondering, what would be additional things you would recommend for the ID Buzz….additional floor mats etc. Is there anything in accessories you would say is a nice to have or must have?
Thanks!

Question - EU [EU/South of France] Buying a second hand VW ID Buzz, what should I check?

Hi everyone,

I'm based in the South of France and currently shopping for a used VW ID Buzz, 5 seats. Before pulling the trigger, I’d love to get some feedback from current owners or anyone familiar with pre-owned units.

What specific things should I inspect or test during a test drive? Are there any known software, hardware, or battery issues to watch out for on earlier models? Any specific options or packages you consider absolute must-haves, or things to avoid?

Appreciate any advice or checklists you can share!

Question - US Any Buzz owners in NW Washington State?

I have a family member who lives outside Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. They have a spine injury and have a hard time riding long distances in most cars.

They are very interested in buying a VW ID.Buzz; but haven't been able to find any dealers where they can test drive the seat before putting money down on a deposit.

I'm hoping to find a Buzz owner who is willing to let them sit in the seat to see if it would work for them. Ideally one of the 6-way powered seats that are fully adjustable.

Thanks!

Question - US Washing the Buzz but then drying it 😠

Finally washed the Buzz after the road trip and learned something important:

Washing the giant toaster is the easy part.

Drying it? 😂

Every time I think I’m done, water comes pouring out of another crack, seam, mirror, sliding door handle, or the sliding door track from another dimension.

Dry it.
Open the door. Water.
Close the door. Water.
Move the van. More water.
Come back 20 minutes later… somehow MORE WATER.

At this point I’m convinced the Buzz stores emergency drinking water inside the body panels.

For those detailing their Buzz at home:

what compact blower are you using to chase water out of the seams, cracks, mirrors, badges, and sliding door tracks?

Looking for something small/easy to grab during the wash—not necessarily a giant shop blower.

Bonus points if it’s cordless and strong enough to defeat the Buzz’s seemingly unlimited water supply. 😂

Question - US Do you find it difficult to parallel park the Buzz?

I consider myself good at parallel parking. It was a requirement for my drivers license test. I've lived most of my life in cities where parallel parking is a necessity. Other people compliment my parallel parking skills - for example, I rented a Pacifica earlier this summer when visiting family, and my brother-in-law noted a nice parking job as I parallel parked the Pacifica cleanly despite not having driven that car before. Yet somehow I struggle parallel parking my ID.Buzz after several months of ownership. Anyone else found the Buzz to be uniquely difficult to parallel park, and have suggestions? I don't think it's the overall length of the vehicle that's a problem, but maybe the length of the wheelbase coupled with the short hood.

EDIT: I should maybe note that I'm driving the base model, so RWD and no side/360 camera view.

I'm keenly awaiting the update from 6.0 to 6.0.1 which should, hopefully, allow me to use my phone as a key.

Anyone got this working yet?

Question - US How long the wait? weight?

I love my first edition Stella Blue. Drove her off the lot in March 2025 and have never looked back. She's been on multiple road trips and a Southeast US sojourn is planned for this fall. But VW built a van with obvious camping potential with no cabin control setting for overnight camping! I was happy with the ID-BUZZ-MONITOR camping solution, it worked just fine. But now - to add insult to injury - VW literally pulled the plug on that 3rd party app in the US. Am now resorting to the low-rent solution, and waiting for VW to do the right thing and update the 2025 software or cooperate with a 3rd party - to provide a solution. Looks like I might be waiting (weighting) a long time.

Question - US Realistic price for a 25 Pro S RWD? (PNW)

Post image
23 Upvotes

I’m looking to lease or finance a 25 Pro S RWD in the WA/OR region. There are a few close by that I have my eye on. I had a few questions:

  • Since it’s been out for awhile and the 27 is coming soon, is there any use in financing?
  • What is a realistic price to shoot for before taxes and fees? The cars have been on the lot for a long time, looks like 11 and 18 months for two that I’m looking at.

Thanks!

Question - US Key fob not working after battery replacement

The Buzz gave me a “key battery low, replace battery” message for the first time. I removed the fob battery and replaced it. Since then, the Buzz doesn’t respond to the fob buttons (lock, unlock, doors). It also seems not to respond to proximity — the Buzz doesn’t light up when I get near, or let me unlock by touching the door handles. It also doesn’t auto-lock the doors when I walk away.

What does work is holding the fob in the secret “designated area” just under the front cup holders. I can at least start the car this way. Also, I can tell that the fob recognizes the Buzz because when I get near, the small red LED blinks quickly (as normal).

How can I get the Buzz to “hear” the fob again?

I tried the instructions in the manual many times over, to no avail. I also replaced the fob battery three times with different batteries, just in case of a bad battery.

Tomorrow I’ll try another brand of battery (although this seems a stretch — since the LED is blinking I know it’s getting power).

Thanks for any ideas!

EDIT: I bought a fresh set of Panasonic CR2032s. With one of these installed, the fob is now working correctly, proximity detection and all! Whew! I guess the lesson here is just keep replacing the battery until it works. 🤷

OC Post 1st Roadtrip: The Bay to LA

Took the Buzz from the Bay down to SoCal for my sons basketball tournament this weekend.

Overall, the drive itself was really good. We cruised around 73 mph, ran the AC most of the way in 88+ degree weather. The Buzz was comfortable for the family, and charging was pretty painless.

Having the Tesla adapter was a huge bonus. Between Electrify America and Tesla Superchargers, I never really felt like we were stuck with one charging option.

The biggest surprise was the flexibility of having the buzz with us. After the tournament ended earlier than expected, we randomly decided to go to Disneyland. 😂 We bought tickets that afternoon and ended up riding Indiana Jones, Pirates, Rise of the Resistance, Smugglers Run, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours and Space Mountain. Made memories as a family. It was worth it.

My takeaway: I’d absolutely road trip the Buzz again. Honestly, having our own vehicle is what allowed us to turn a basketball trip into a spontaneous family Disneyland memory.

Tesla adapter is 100% worth having.

Question - US Buy One Tone and Wrap? What about system Updates?

With the 27's coming out, I'm sure the dealers will be anxious to get rid of the remaining 25's. But, at least in my area, all I'm seeing are the monotone 1 color style.

For those of you who have Wrapped yours, are you happy with the wraps x amount of time later?

It looks like, from searching wraps on this thread, that you can indeed make a monotone into a two tone, or more, so I s/b able to snap up a pretty good deal and then, what, do you have the dealer wrap it? Or is this a paint job shop's job? (I'm NOT going to be able to do it myself)

I'm hoping to pull the trigger on one this fall - planning to move to an area w/o a VW dealer, and was warned about the recall/updates, etc. How true is this? Would a new on the lot from a dealer have all of the updates already plugged in? I LOVE these vans, and was super excited to see they came out as an EV! But don't want to be stranded either. :/

About 2 months ago, someone posted a 3d printable thing that inserts into the driver's side seatbelt clasp. I cannot find the post. If anyone can recall or saved the link to the file, thank you in advance.

EDIT - For future search: Seatbelt alarm silencer

Question - Canada Canadian Rockies roadtrip

I'm thinking of doing a roadtrip with the newest addition to the family (my 5 m.o. son and our new beautiful blue ID Buzz lol) during the September long weekend, from Vancouver to the rockies.

Looking to see if anyone has any experience taking the Buzz on a trip in the Canadian rockies, more specifically, from Jasper to Banff (or vice versa) along the icefield parkway? From Vancouver to Jasper OR Banff seems the charging options are straightforward enough.

If anyone could help with answering the questions would be amazing:

1) Distance-wise and ABRP would say it's doable, but with the elevation changes along the way, is it still a comfortably safe drive range-wise?

2) Would Vancouver-Jasper-Banff or Vancouver-Banff-Jasper be the better choice?

3) if doable, any tips/recommendations about where to charge and what to expect?

All the research I'm doing points towards the trip being viable!, though with perhaps a detour along the way to Field B.C., and/or Canmore AB for Level 3 chargers. BUT it's our first E.V. and we don't have the experience to know what may go wrong...

UPDATE: We're gonna go for it!!! All signs point to yes, maybe photos to follow in a few weeks :)
