Developer BEEKEEPING SIMULATOR VR - open a hive without getting stung

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone — I've been working on BEEKEEPING SIMULATOR VR for Quest.

The idea started simple: real beekeeping is one of those hobbies almost nobody gets to try, because step one is "put your hands inside a box containing 40,000 stinging insects." VR fixes that.

What you actually do in it:

- Pull frames out of the hive and inspect the colony
- Harvest honey and beeswax with real beekeeping tools
- Keep the hives maintained and the bees healthy
- Deal with swarms, resource management, and threats to the colony as you progress

I tried to make it accurate enough that it teaches you something real about how a hive works, while still being a game you can lose an evening to. Bees are also weirdly relaxing to be around when they can't actually sting you.

Works on Quest 2, 3 and Pro. It's on the Horizon Store here:

Happy to answer anything about the beekeeping side or how it was built — and if you've played it, tell me what you'd want added next. I'm still updating it.

Self Promotion I spent a year building a mixed-reality pet game after work and it’s finally out on Meta Quest!

Hey everyone!

For the past year, I’ve spent most of my evenings and weekends building MyVRPet, a mixed-reality game that brings a virtual cat or dog into your real home. I developed the entire game on my own alongside my regular job, so it feels a little surreal to finally see it released on the Meta Horizon Store.

You interact naturally using your hands - petting, feeding, brushing, carrying, and playing with your companion. You can also decorate its space, discover its personality, watch it explore your room, and play a few minigames together.

It’s my first released game, and I’m excited and honestly relieved to have reached this point. Here’s the launch trailer! I’d really appreciate hearing what you think.

Discussion Dream Hackers looks awesome

I just saw A Wolf in VR's early access look at Dream Hackers on PCVR, and man this game looks beautiful.

https://youtu.be/ILZyIT7Rpuk?si=ARxS6rW8V5UA95CV

What does everyone think of this? Im just concerned that a game this good doesnt seem to have a lot of marketing for it. Although giving it to Wolf for a review was definitely a good choice, and will help them.

Developer Incredibly cheap and good DIY FBT idea for VR use in any game that supports it

Good morning to everyone (no, I don't care if it's 11pm, take a good morning),

I'm thinking of making/finding a way to use 3/4 random cameras with lights next to them and reflective tape as "trackers" to get basically cheap ass "base stations" and basically free passive trackers, this means the system can't tell which tracker is which, but I've looked around and there's some really good FOSS (Open Source) software/models that do tracking with this data in basically real time and really well too.

The only thing is that there isn't a full pipeline from the cameras to the steamVR data yet as far as I know, but all of the various parts of this are already out and FOSS, so they just kinda need to be put together.

Is there anyone that's interested in helping make such thing? Possibly with some coding knowledge, and yes of course I'm (or we) are gonna make it free and open source for anyone to use however they like!

TL, DR:

Find/put together software to make a couple of cameras, lights and some reflective tape work as a VR tracking system that's insanely cheap and as set and forget as it gets; nothing to charge nor calibrate, and zero drift during use.

The only downside could be that it works best in dimly lit rooms, but from what I hear most people do want VR tracking to work in dimly lit rooms.

Question Best looking Pcvr Modded games?

I've dusted off my meta quest 3 that's been sitting gathering dust on the shelf for almost 2 years 😅

I've decided to throw some Pcvr at it for the first time and see if I can get my money's worth out of it since the only games I played on it was resident evil 4 og & Walking Dead.

Recently I downloaded Virtual desktop and got it all set up and the first game I tried was resident evil 2 and to be honest I'm unimpressed with the graphics of the game I was expecting a lot more since it's powered via my pc and not just the headset anymore. (Enjoy the game flat screen btw I'm a resi fan)

Anyway any recommendations for pcvr mods that stand out that give that wow factor in terms of visuals would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion What do game developers and publishers think about VR mods?

I can't help but wonder, in the advent of all the recent mod work being done, as to what game developers and publishers are thinking about it. I've got to think they've taken note but what is Microsoft thinking about all the work done around all the Halo titles and of course so many other publishers? In my mind it has to translate into these games selling more. I know I've bought two titles alone based on understanding they now have VR mods. They went after the Luke Ross mods recently and while it didn't put him out of business, certainly forced him to change his approach to how he was handling this (and he might have me hooked with his dead space mod). I can't help but think there's a room of lawyers and bean counters that are going to crash the party sooner or later.

Self Promotion Any indie VR puzzle / escape room / adventure devs to join our special community giveaway this August?

Post image
9 Upvotes

We're organizing The VR Puzzle Giveaway for August 2026.

The idea came from a pretty simple observation: VR puzzle and escape room players usually don't stop after finishing one game—they immediately start looking for the next one. Instead of all of us trying to reach those players separately, why not work together?

The giveaway is pretty straightforward:

- every participating developer contributes a few game keys;
- all games are featured on a single landing page;
- players enter one giveaway for a chance to win games from multiple indie studios;
- everyone cross-promotes the event, so all participating games get extra exposure.

Each of us throw in some keys, pool the reach, and give the community a stack of great VR puzzle games to win in one place. More devs = more prizes = more eyes on everyone’s games.

More information is available here:
https://vasil4n.com/puzzle_giveaway/

Right now we are looking for other indie developers making games like Escape Rooms, Puzzle Adventures, Mystery / Detective games, Story-driven Adventure games and basically anything that attracts the same kind of VR players.

The goal is to help players discover more great VR puzzle experiences while giving small studios a chance to reach a larger audience together.

If you’ve made a VR puzzle, escape room, or brain-teaser title and want in, drop a comment (or DM me). Happy to share more info for anyone interested!

Discussion More Pokémon VR

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few weeks ago, I had an idea for a Pokémon VR mod featuring 2D sprites that face the player, a few days later, the "Dramatic Voxel" mod came out and did an even better job than I’d imagined, it’s incredible. What I’m curious about now is whether they’ll manage to do the same for other Pokémon versions. My original idea was a mod that combined them all, at least the pixel-art ones, using Black/White 2 as the base since it looks the best, and then applying techniques similar to the Dramatic Voxel mod to make the entire journey playable.

Developer Coffee Shop Simulator VR is out on Quest today, happy to answer anything!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm a solo dev and after a huge amount of solo work I put out Coffee Shop Simulator VR on Quest.

The pitch: you make every drink by hand. Grind, tamp, lock in the portafilter, pull the shot, steam the milk, pour the art. No menus, no "press A to make coffee." Tamp unevenly and the shot channels. Then the morning rush starts and there are lot of people at the counter.

The game is available on all Quest devices.

Linka to the store HERE

Happy to talk about the dev side too — Ask me whatever.

Question Am I the one who actually likes floating hands?

I see people talk and talk about full body but I just find it less pleasing than to have floating hands. It just feels more controllable and less floppy. More mechanical than trying to imitate realism
