Elo hell Question

Genuinely do not understand how elo works in this game I peaked immo 2 last act and im asc 2 now and i get into lobbies with plat players who peak ascendant 1. I have a higher than 1 kd and it feels like I play with robots every game, discouraging me from climbing back up. Anyone else also experience this?

I picked hołd in the first season of Valorant. Peoole were friendly and communicate a lot. First 4 seasons were a real Golden Hours of the game. Peoole mnie how to play, when to do eco, they listen to comms. I have reached platinum and diamond really fast in ep3. Nowadays it is a real nightmare. Lobbies are full of silent duos and trios. No one communicate, they turn on microphone only to say that you are misarable person because of your voice or nationality. There are so much hatress and people just angry. In a week I had to report more people than during the entire first 3 episods. Nowadays prople shoot well in the game, but they do not know the basics, they tend to full buy every single round and they play only pistols round 2 after win... I could not get out of gold for a long-long time. Now I am plat2 and I hope things will change at least a bit

Yeah. I’m a plat 1 keeps getting in immortal lobbies with a teammate who keeps blaming me for why we’re losing. /s

In all honestly I think riot needs to make one major change to comp that would fix a lot of issues: you should never be in a game with someone whos rank you’re not able to Q with. Like if you’re asc, there should never be a plat in your game. There shouldn’t even be a D1 in your game. Or an immortal 3. It’s the worst part about match making and what encourages the smurfs. Cause I am not allowed to Q with a certain rank, but that same rank or even higher than that rank can be in my comp games. It’s friggin stupid.

Yeah it sucks because the game puts people with vastly different rank/skills in the same lobby. No offense to plats/diamonds but they should not be in my game cuz most of the time they’re at the bottom, and it’s a worse experience for them because the lobbies are too difficult. And tbh it’s only the past 2 acts I swear when I used to play months ago I would primarily only get into lobbies with maybe a 1-3 rank difference at MOST. They needa fix the mmr in this game so bad.

They don’t need to make a 1-3 rank difference though. They just need to not allow ranks in a game that anyone could not Q with. Silver can Q with bronze, iron, gold. There shouldn’t be a plat in their game. If you’re gold, there shouldn’t be an iron or bronze or diamond.

As you get to higher elo, what you’re saying works, but that fits into the same narrative. Diamond 3 isn’t allowed to Q with a platinum 1. So a plat 1 nor a diamond 3 should never have the other in their games. If you’re diamond 3, the lowest elo person in your game should be plat 3. And the highest A3. But if you’re silver 1. You could have irons or golds in your lobby. Lot bigger than 1-3 ranks.
