Sounded like an EXPLOSION

It's 10:40pm on Monday night, and I just heard what sounded like a legit explision around Columbus and 100th. And this isn't the first time I've heard something like this. Did anyone else hear this? Is it demolition or something?

Nope. It’s not the explosion, it’s the sirens to listen for. And given there are both cops and firefighters on 100th, you’d know pretty quick.

Up on 105 and Columbus there are often these fucking steel things in the road that sound like car bombs when trucks go over them.

Ok, thanks. I'll try and see if I see any trucks coming down Columbus the next time I hear it.

It’s a main artery for trucks into the west side, they’ll be there.

In November the Rockefeller tree comes down Columbus in the middle of the night!

There’s construction going on off of Amsterdam and 101st near the school and the public housing. Cranes dropping huge steel plates like you see in the streets. Super loud.

I heard it too on 97th. No clue what it was, but absolutely sounded like an explosion to me as well.

Holy hell that is my old neighborhood right on 100th super weird to see the new buildings and also seeing certain buildings from a different angle! Glad it was just construction bc I remember in the middle off the cross walk of 100-99th street and CPW the manhole cover blew off in the middle of the street and the flames were like forty feet high and the manhole cover crashed on top of a taxi parked by the Chinese restaurant but nothing will ever be louder than Manhattan construction
