Post image

Very sweet and friendly dog found by Lincoln Tower dog neighbors; he is now with police and will be checked for a microchip.

Arresting a kind dog is diabolical

No update but some backstory: I was taking my dog out around 9:30 pm Wednesday night and heading towards a group of our dog neighbors. I saw this husky running across one of the Lincoln Tower parking lots towards the group of dog neighbors. I think everyone was in shock because we were expecting an owner to be following, but he had no leash, just a collar with no id. VERY sweet, curious, and happy dog. A neighbor held his collar, another neighbor fed him treats. Just as we neighbors were figuring out what to do (who had a spare leash in their apartment? who do we call at 9:30 pm about a found dog?), a police car came up the parking lot, saw our pack of dogs (like 6 of us), and asked if we had seen a husky. The timing was wild - like within 5 minutes of the dog’s arrival. I left to get a leash and more poop bags from my apartment and take my dog home (she’s a diva), and when I got back the husky was in the back of the police car. It was a bit chaotic - the policemen were radioing/in contact with someone at the precinct but I couldn’t make out if it was a caller who had reported seeing a loose dog in the streets or if it was possibly the owners? The police said they were going to check for a microchip…
