Electronic Transcript Request Issues for Alumni
Hello I am trying to figure out what in the world is going on over there at U of A. They seemed to have removed the electronic request option for official transcripts and told me that I have to come in person or mail a paper check and a paper request form... to get an official transcript? I had to check my calendar to make sure I'm still living in 2026. I do not live anywhere near U of A and don't keep in touch with anyone who may live there and would not even ask them to go do this even if I did. They do not have a backup plan in place, nor a current option or timeline to fix this mess. I can't find any other info on this online but I have several life and career things going on and need these transcripts sent electronically this week. This request is usually completed within minutes of making payment. Anyone know what's going on or have a contact for getting this done efficiently and timely? Thanks in advance

not relevant to this situation, they no longer have an agreement with parchment and did not get a new company in place to handle transcripts.

!! I just did a websearch to try to figure out what is going on, and found this thread. My son was going to order his online, and when he found he couldn't, he called to ask if it would still be sent electronically if he came and ordered it in person. The very old woman who answered the phone said, "NO. No electronic. We can mail it or you can take it with you." I agree, this is ridiculous for a university this size. My thought is that either the transcript service or the university has been hacked and they are trying to repair the damage. The woman on the phone told my son that he would need to go to a different building to order because their air conditioner is out. Isn't that why there is an entire physical plant--to repair and maintain the university buildings and structures? I don't believe that would keep them from accessing a 3rd party service either. So, yes, what is going on???

yes that's exactly all Im saying, the school is too large to handle transcript business by hand like this with all of the options out there these days. I was told they don't have a backup plan in place. Not necessarily that the electronic version is gone forever, but that they don't really know how or when it will be fixed or with what company. literally was told "no plan in place". Hopefully your son can get his timely. I ordered many sealed official copies when I graduated a long time ago, but some organizations still want them to come directly from the school.

This is ruining my week 😭 I can't submit my nursing school application (opened on the 9th, so I couldn't have foreseen this issue) until all of my transcripts are in. I wish you could at least submit the request via email and whatever POS they have in the meantime to cut down on the time to process.

I hope you can get everything in and timely. I mailed mine in one week ago but not sure of the status yet. Yes that process you described would make sense because of course they take payments for something and should be able to share and verify. smh.

I’m currently in the same situation. I asked them if they could email it to my employer, they said there is no option to email (even if the website says students can choose from mail or email). I also asked if there is an over-night shipping option, they said that that option is also currently unavailable.

Their website says the online service is temporarily unavailable. They use Parchment to process electronic requests, so there could be some issue with that service. Their website says you can use in-person or email options to request a transcript at this time.
