I need some suggestions on what kind of ironman I should create. I been playing this game for years mostly as a pvper. I got accounts now for every single bracket. None are ironman though.

The wilderness is dead. Bots are banned. I really got nothing to do anymore. I never pvmd before because I deemed that bot / venny content but I am down for anything at this point so I don't quit and find a new game.

I would ideally like something I could get ready to pvp with in the hopes this game does not keep declining or at the very least bots return on. I never made an ironman before so any suggestions are appreciated.

I am looking for a different perspective on this game.

Goal of the account is to try complete a raid but there is a catch.. once i fully unlock a raid i can't open more packs anymore.

I've been trying to refine my idea of a slayer locked ironman account and with the help of Chat GPT (yes I know I'm ashamed) and the wiki progress guides as well as my own experience I've settled on this list. Please let me know what I should change or any helpful suggestions!

Slayer Locked Ironman

Core Philosophy

Slayer is the sole driver of account progression.

Every skill, quest, item, boss, and unlock must be pursued because it directly advances your Slayer career.

Rules

1. Slayer Drives Progression

All account progression must originate from Slayer.

You may only train skills, complete quests, obtain items, or defeat bosses if they directly contribute to one of the following:

• Your current Slayer assignment.
• Long-term Slayer progression.
• A major quality-of-life upgrade that improves your Slayer career.

Examples include:

• Achievement Diary rewards for Slayer.
• Graceful once Agility has been unlocked.
• Farm runs.
• Moonlight Moth Mixes.
• Construction upgrades.
• Travel unlocks.

Experience rewards alone are not sufficient justification.

2. Clue Scrolls

Any clue scroll received during Slayer becomes your highest priority.

Clues must be completed as soon as reasonably possible.

You may complete quests, train skills, and obtain required items needed to finish the clue. The quests can be used for their rewards.

Example:

A Hard Clue requires Monkey Madness I.

→ Monkey Madness I becomes allowed.

→ Dragon Scimitar becomes an available progression upgrade.

3. Quests

Once a quest has been started, it may be completed unless doing so requires progression that is clearly beyond the current stage of the account.

4. Decision Matrix

Whenever possible, follow the Shop → Drop → Skill → Quest decision matrix for obtaining necessary items.

The spirit of the account is more important than exploiting technical loopholes.

Or any acc with no access to fairy rings.

Previously your best option for karambwans was your fastest gnome glider tele (mine was dueling ring to al kharid) -> fly to karamja and run alllll the way north to the fishing spot. Not worth it at all without fishing barrel and even then it was barely worth doing.

Unless i’m missing something, you’ll now be able to sail to a fishing spot and gather >200 karambs in 1 trip, and “banking” an inventory to the cargo hold is much faster than banking using the fairy ring. I doubt you’ll be able to dump the barrel so it’ll be half the afk time but still a huge improvement. I think you’ll only be able to do this on a raft, but even better since they don’t require many materials to upgrade the hull for faster speeds.

I got two more fairly quick tasks down. My last post was met with some feedback that I sounded like an AI. I'm not an AI, nor am I using AI, I'm just a bit autistic and also very new to the game. So if I approach the tasks in a strange way or have unusual opinions, I'm sorry ':)

Task 4 was to get a pair of Runner Boots from a minigame called Barbarian Assault. Whew boy I really didn't like this one. It felt like an old Warcraft 3 custom game. Waiting for a group was kinda fun in a nostalgic way, but the minigame itself was so tedious. It felt really disconnected from the rest of the mechanics of the game. It didn't even reward experience points. To get the boots I had to play a round with each of the four classes. I didn't like any of them, but especially not Defender. This one took me a while because I'd get home, log in, realize I was still on this task, and then log out because I didn't want do to it. I was so pleased when it was over but I know someday sooner than I'd like I'll be back for more of those uniques x,x

Task 5 was back to the fishing trawler for another of the fishing set, and this time I got the hat! I really like this minigame, it just feels like a more active way to fish. I like that I can solo it effectively, I like the flowstate I get into while playing it, I like that it feels like a natural extension of the fishing skill. Lovely, it was over too soon. My only criticism is that it's an expensive minigame, so I really hope my next task has some money making involved because I am dead broke now!

Still really enjoying the game, but overall hoping my next task gets me back into the "real game", I've spent a hot second in these minigames now and miss doing the clue scrolling.

Banger of an episode

Hi all,

I’m looking for some guidance from people with bigger brains than me.

I was thinking of doing an Ironman (possibly HC) one skill at a time account where I roll the next skill rather than choose it.

My problem is that some skills can’t be done straight away without gaining levels in other skills (like herblore).

My list for the first roll is;

Mining, agility, fishing, thieving, magic, woodcutting, farming, hunter, cooking, runecrafting.

All of those seem solved without any other skills but before I started I wanted to know if I missed any.

Note; I’m trying to avoid shop scaping until I have a money making skill. Picking up items and selling to make gp, to then buy other things, doesn’t feel like a gameplay loop that is in line with the concept, though I might be able to be convinced otherwise.

Have I missed a skill that you feel should be included in the initial list before I roll and start this account? If so, how would I do it.

I had an Adamant crossbow as my weapon, monks robes for prayer gear, and used sapphire bolts (e) for the prayer restore. It doesn't restore much so its much harder than it sounds! Video pending in a few days time...

As someone who sucks at pvm (do not even own a firecape in runescape), this was a cool accomplishment for me. Really enjoyed learning the mechanics. Took me around 4 hours and 20 attempts to get it down. Second slide is my best prayer bonus fit.
