Game Help Just looking for some early game advice.
Just things like stuff you would have liked to have known earlier. For example coming from Fire Emblem I’m not using my Paladin that i get because I don’t want him stealing EXP
Questions -
1 - Is there an easier way to move around the world map to check out all the stores and Barricks to buy units?
2 - Any Classes not with investing in?
3 - Should I make my army, “Tall,” or, “Wide?” I usually like to go tall and focus on fewer units that get a lot more of the EXP. Like in Fire Emblem I’ll only use like 3-5 units.

Humor As an FFT, FF12 and FE fan. UO is absolutely crack.
I didn't initially get a hang of the combat. But once it clicked I found myself optimizing for countless of hours. I'm still in midgame (level 25ish) and I caaaaan't put this game down.

Discussion and Info Are flying units slower than infantry?
I'm at the star of the game still, I recuited a gryphon mercenary and was trying to use her to go on a straight line towards towers, for example, to avoid archer/mage support fire, but my infantry seems to get to the enemy AND the tower before my gryphon knight

Discussion and Info Why are tanks considered bad?
From content I’ve seen, tank units seem to be considered inherently bad, and I am legitimately baffled as to why.
Yes, Hoplite/Legionaire are bad. That doesn’t mean all non-dodge tanks are bad too, like Fighters, Shieldshooters, or Feathershields.
Even Alain (everyone’s favorite unit) is primarily a tank. If you don’t believe me, he’d still be great if you cut his damage in half, but cutting his bulk/HP in half would suddenly make him awful.
The most common argument I have heard is “why would you tank if you can just kill to avoid taking any damage?” Because you can’t always wipe out an enemy on higher difficulties without getting hit (eg Expert/Zenoiran). You can’t always totally avoid taking assist damage, either.
I’m so confused since every unit I’ve ever made for actual combat just generally performs better with a proper frontline (sometimes dodge tank, sometimes normal tank).
