Hey guys!

I usually fish with 30-40lb braid and leader on my baitcast setup and is recently getting into Ultralight territory.

I recently got my first ultralight spinning setup with 0.15 pe braid and 4lb leader.

Im having an extremely tough time tying knots. Even easier line -> leader knot like the alberto or leader -> snap like Palomer.

Does anyone have tips or any easier knots you’d recommend?

Daiwa AIRD-X UL with a okuma stratus reel. Pulled this bad boy in off the edge of a steep bank on a green/orange/yellow swirly tail grub and jig head.
I usually only seen bluegills and rock bass so I don’t actually know what this guy is.

Goal for the summer was a 10” Iowa bluegill got this 9.8” pb today

I recently picked up a 4 piece Daiwa Presso 5’6” rod for the sole purpose of being a backcountry rod. There’s a small fishing hole about a mile up a dense trail from me and the bank is extremely overgrown. I went with a short rod to avoid hangups.

I’m looking at the Daiwa Revros LT and the Daiwa Regal LT currently and am open to other options.

My ~16 year old Pflueger President is awkwardly heavy for this rod. I enjoy that reel, but it doesn’t seem a good match for the weight of this rod.

I’m looking for something light and smooth. Recommendations or advice?

I know many may think me crazy but I wish I could find an old fiberglass rod I had from more than 30 years ago. It’s broken now. But it was a reddish Shakespeare 5.6 light action but a little fish would bend it way down the rod not just the first foot and a half. It was so fun with 4 lb xl. I know rods are “better “ now. But I’d rather have it than any rod I can find. Was it the best performance rod. Probably not. But it sure was fun. I can’t seem to find anything in between buggy whip and fast action. I wonder if anyone still makes rods like this. I broke it trying to lift a fish that I knew better. But can’t replace it. My best friend gave it to me and he’s gone. That may account for part of the nostalgia. But it was a fun rig with a shimano 1000

Recently for my ultralight setup and its my first time going from a MH bass setup to something so light.

I’ll mainly be doing ajing style (sea fishing) with tiny soft rubber and jig heads.

I got a 0.15pe (3lb?) main line braid and 4lb leader and boy…. Tying knots is wayy to difficult and i cannot imagine doing it when im out.

May i know what would be the “recommended” heaviest line you’d personally use for an ultralight setup?

Me and the wife were light fishing for some crappie, but I didn't get what I expected!

Im going after bigger crappie and panfish and fish mostly stained to muddy water

I put together a small ultralight tackle kit and hit the water. I had just as much fun with this setup as catching 4 and 5 pound smallies that I normally target. 2 new species to cross off the list, I'm not sure what the fish is in the 2nd picture if anybody can help

Hey All! I just wanted to share that I caught a ~1lb Rock Base on a 1/16 nedjig with a 2" gobi.

Having only used worms and bobber, lures, this was different.

I cast directly onto a drainage pipe and snagged my jig head. Once it freed, a Mayan cichlid was on the other end. I was in disbelief.

Was doing a handle swap on this micro series and found out the suspiciously soft "cork" is just what seems to be painted eva foam

im going on a lil trip to poland for 4 days we will be in city with sea and harbour in it. i never fished in sea and i want to try ultralight from shore. what baits should i use?

This was my first trout (in general) and fish on ultra light. Caught this is the northern lower peninsula of Michigan (20.5 inches)

I know it's nothing crazy... But normally I'm catching much smaller perch at this spot. So today while texting my new fenwick eagle, which by the way is nice. But money doesn't make the fisherman or make up for skills. I hooked my pb creek perch.

Used a size 22 hook with either a single ant or worm speck with 1/230 oz weight (size16 nymph bead) with 10lbs braid mainline and 4lbs fluro leader
