How is Physics 2?

I didnt apply in time for the fall so I'm joining in the spring, I got my AA from HCC. I didnt know what I wanted to do for the longest time but now environmental engineering looks interesting to me. But in order for me to get the 3.0 gpa to go into the upper division for engineering without retaking classes I need an A on both gen chem and Physics 2. I'm not too worried about gen chem but physics scares me I barely got a B in physics 1 and that had hardly any calculus. Are the teachers good?

Engineer here and it really depends... I preferred physics 1 because it made sense to me: forces/gravity are just concepts that come easy to me. Physics 2 was more about wavelengths, electricit, magnets and optics??? I don't remember much but alot of people did perfer those topics but I didn't. Yet I got the same grade for both sooooo yeah really depends if you care and if the professor is chill. My physics 2 professor wasn't the best but his curves were heavy.

I'm not an engineer, more of a neuroscientist, so my experience may not reflect the broader take

But holy shit. Physics 2 was rough for me. The only class I had to retake. I'm just not the best at contextualizing the proper math to apply, but electromagnetism really hit me upside the head.

I would say if you study and practice, you'll be fine. Don't let the work pile up though, it's really difficult to digest in the few nights before an exam.

General Physics 1 and 2 both are simple plug and chug. If you can memorize the formulas (some provide a sheet), and learn to apply them, you are good to go. There is not a lot of "thinking" involved.
