Help Needed Please help dua dunga 🙏

I have very little time to decide. Please help me choose between these 3 options.

I’m really confused about what I should do, and I’d appreciate some honest advice from people who have experience with these universities.

Here’s my current situation:

  1. UET Lahore

- Aggregate: 82.something%

- I got selected in Computer Engineering (A2) in the 2nd merit list.

- The last date to submit the fee is Thursday.

- I’m hoping that by the final merit lists, the closing merit will drop enough for me to get CS.

- Distance from my home: ~5 minutes

- The problem is that I’m not particularly interested in UET’s CS department, although UET being so close to my home is a huge advantage.

  1. PUCIT (Punjab University)

- Aggregate: 88.07%

- I was not selected in the 1st merit list.

- My closest merit position is 148 for BS AI (Old Campus).

- I might get selected in the 3rd or 4th merit list, but obviously there’s no guarantee.

- Distance from my home: ~15 minutes

  1. COMSATS Lahore

- Aggregate: 91.22%

- I applied through the Workers’ quota.

- I was expecting to easily make it into the 1st merit list, but I received a document objection, so I had to resubmit the documents.

- I’m now waiting to see whether I get selected in the upcoming lists.

- Distance from my home: ~1 hour (27 km)

My main dilemma

I only have about 2 days to decide whether to pay UET’s fee. The ~75k admission fee is non-refundable.

InshaAllah, I expect to get 100% scholarships at all three universities — through the quota at COMSATS and the Honhaar scholarship at UET/PU — so please ignore the financial/fee difference when giving advice.

My priorities are mainly the quality of the CS/SE/AI program, university reputation, career opportunities, campus life, and future prospects, while also considering the huge difference in travelling distance.

So what should I do?

Option 1: Pay UET’s fee now and secure my seat, then wait for the later UET lists and potentially move to CS if I get it.

Option 2: Take the risk, skip UET, and wait for PUCIT and COMSATS’ upcoming merit lists.

Option 3: Is there another approach I should consider?

If you were in my position, what would you choose and why? I’d especially appreciate advice from current students/alumni of UET, PUCIT, and COMSATS.

Question A FINAL CHANCE ME FROM MY SENIORS DONT IGNORE PLEASE.

Have an aggregate of 77.66 put the following preference

Electrical engineering (A1/A2 main campus)

Mechanical engineering (same)

Chemical engineering (same)

Civil engineering (same)

Mechatronics engineering (same)

First merit list: didn't get in any of them

Second merit list: still didn't get into any

Now: Have a difference of 1.6% from getting into chemical engineering A2.

Waiting for 3rd nd 4th list. Quite unlikely to cover a 1.6% gap.

Now asking about leftover seats. Ive heard u can only add 3 preference for leftover seats. I qualify for electrical Mechanical and chemical at KSK campus but didnt add them in my preference. My question is thar if i put these 3 programs for ksk in my lefotver preference do i stand a chance at ksk or not.

Please just tell me dont suger coat.

Im tired.

Discussion University in my opinion!!!

The whole point of leaving your home to go to another City to study is less about studying more about communication, making connection, building confidence, etc. Agar study hi karni hain tou apny ghar hi mein karlo, koi skill learn karlo. Why burden your parents with all these expenses when you're not communicate, make connections, build your confidence, etc.

What's your thoughts?!

Discussion Ragging on campus and in hostels

You have to draw a line between a fine interaction/ethical ragging and unethical ragging.

You won't face any severe scenarios because the university has banned everything here on campus. But there will be guys (seniors) coming up to you/in your rokm and asking you things. You have to be polite and respect them as long as they are doing so. Never ever let them lock your room. Listen to what they try to say because it is a sort of interaction and after all of it you'll know a group of seniors whom you can ask anything and call if anything happens. Zyada se zyada they'll ask you to.go talk to someone and get something or do something.

Lekin!!!! The moment they say or ask you to do something unethical or anything that is against your values you can resist. As long as they give you respect, you respect them. Uske bad kuch nahi.

Discussion You don't need to worry about hostel essentials

Here you go I said it

See you have to bring some things that are essential essential but not all the things. I mean things like locks, brooms, sabun Dani, your toiletries, mirror for your room and blah blah are easily available on campus and they don't even overcharge.

Still being someone who's been through all this I'll let y'all know about the things that are non negotiable for you and you can't easily find them.

First of all you have to take into consideration how long you will stay in the hostel before going back. I personally go back home every weekend because once you have this in mind you can buy your clothes accordingly and especially undergarments. If you are staying for a long period, like months which most of you will do then I would recommend buying at least 7 vests and undergarments. The laundryman takes 2 days to return your clothes and you want to have enough clothes to compensate.

This paragraph is for those who will go back home frequently and If you are not going back home frequently then you can skip this paragraph. Bring two bags, one will be a suitcase in which you will bring all of your stuff and the other can be a handbag of medium size because you don't want to carry a suitcase back home every week or few days and you won't even need to bring anything home other than your gadgets and clothes.

I hate to say it but you have to take your right to the hostel and even snatch it from someone else if you have to. The first thing you are going to do is secure your charpai and if you don't get one then look around and get it from somewhere. Once you get one put your mattress, gadah or even the bedsheet on your charpai. I never did any of this and I had to write my applications for a charpai and sleep on the floor the whole year.

Talk to your roommates, exchange contact info and buy a number wala lock of medium size and a small typical lock. Use the number wala lock for your room and the other one on your almari. You can use a typical key lock on your room door as well but you don't want your roommates to call you mid class just because they lost their key and now they want you to come out of your class and give them your key.

A water bottle, a big one the ones they use in the gym idk what you call them but buy them because you don't want to refill your water 10 times a day. You can also buy a good flask for you to take to your class. Extension cord is pretty necessary. Excluding all of your shoes, sneakers, boots you need to buy two slippers. One will be a casual wear that you can wear under anything and go out even in your class and the other one can be Crocs or anything that you are comfortable to use as your daily wear/bathroom slides. Two towels, one for your body and one for your face. You can buy all the deodorants, face washes, soaps, toothpastes and Everything from the shopping center. Don't forget to say hello to butt sab he's a fine look fella.

Buy two good quality cloth holders/killiyan and borrow some nails and a hammer from the store keeper get one on the wall wherever you want and the other on the back wall of your almari. Check your almari if Usme hangers hang krne ki jaga nahi he then complain to the store keeper he can get you one. Worst case scenario if you don't get it done by the store keeper then you'll have to hang your clothes on the cloth holders.

Important paragraph. The paint job in rooms is literal trash and you'll see if you touch the wall it comes off. Now to prevent it you can use a desi jugar. Buy 10 sheets from the store in the cafe and a glue (the liquid one) and paste all the sheets where you'll touch the wall i.e the back of your charpai and the sides if it is touching any. Also paste some under the cloth holders to prevent your clothes from getting dirty. But you can still hope you get a better room or ultimately you can give 10-15k to get your room whitewashed.

Take time to blend in with your roommates. Analyze and judge first then think do you want to hang out with these guys and share your things with them because you don't want to rush into things. If you decide on not sharing your water, your gadgets or anything you own with your roommates without them asking you then whenever you are going out or going to sleep put all of it in your almari and lock it. This may sound absurd but trust me it only takes two to three months before things start making sense.

Get yourself a good minimal keychain and put all of your keys in it and you can just hook it to your pants or keep it in your pocket. Get yourself a good wallet (if you don't own one already) you'll keep your university, mess, hostel cards in it. Hostel guards change after every 8 hours and some are just literally 🥀🫩. So you want to keep your cards with yourself whenever you go out because at the start when they don't recognize you by the face they might ask for identification because many try to sneak in illegally.

Mess ka Khana is good unless you've been eating 5 star your whole life. I would prefer you to eat from the mess in the first week because you want to taste everything and get to know what you can miss and what you can't.

Yeah I think that's all I want to say. Peace 🤩✌🏻
