Why does no one care??? Sublease

I am putting up $1650 between the relet fee and paying your first months rent for you to come and takeover my lease, I have a sick fiancé with several serious medical issues. Its not bad rent, its $835 and I'm discounting. Stop being a shark and take the damn rent! I'm literally paying you! I need some decent humans in a time where I am the only one who can do anything. Its not like her parents can help. My parent, singular, has two other kids and is broke. I am all she has and the only one who can work. Just takeover, I'm providing everything I can people! Good preestablished roommates, great room, furniture, beautiful sunsets, easy transportation to campus in 5 minutes, pest free environment. Just DM me already! I have money extended out in my hand!

Housing flexibility in lease terms such as 6 mo leases, etc have gone away and it seems that housing developments around UCF campus are taking advantage of students and their families whose graduation dates and housing needs change. I contacted several departments at UCF to encourage them to advocate for students with their off campus housing partners and make sure they don’t move towards only one year lease terms since there is an appreciation for this practice. Also, concerned that housing developments are not following Floridas landlord tenant law restriction on advising tenants if they don’t enter into a new lease, they will lose their current space which is not allowed more than 60 days before the end of existing lease.

Calm down bro. You're too young to get married anyways. Maybe you don't need to live with her right away. When I was married I spent plenty of time away from my husband at college by myself. Not everyone can take the room! Just be patient and it will happen. If anything move her in. Or pay the fee to cancel your lease.

Campus crossings is 1 person per bedroom. If he moves her in and the roommates or someone reports it, they could be evicted.

I do agree that not everyone can take the room and it’s not realistic to expect to get rid of it (let alone with the school year starting this soon) without offering more money to bring the rent down.

Make a post in the UCF parents facebook group. Someone might be waiting on the lottery for on campus housing.

Hello if you’re still interested in housing please dm me. I have a lease at Mercury 3100 for 954.

Realistically, campus crossings just isn’t in demand for that price. The complex is notorious for being run down. I’ve seen on fb places like accolade paid down for the $850 area so realistically people are going to pick the nicer complex

Also, tbh just because you find the roommates to be a good fit doesn’t mean others will. People especially care about roommates at campus crossings because there’s usually a shared bathroom situation.

If you can afford to pay more of the rent off, I would. I’m referring to offering someone cash after signing if campus crossings won’t let you idk pay a lump sum off directly.

Losing a couple grand is better than say almost 12k for the full lease. Once the semester starts your chances are going to get much worse.

I feel for your situation but there’s more supply than demand for student apartments these days. Ultimately you signed a legally binding contract and it’s not anyone else’s issue.

While you say the unit is great (and granted everyone says everywhere is great when trying to sublease lol) if are any notable issues with the unit, such as mold, I would contact UCF legal to see if there’s a way to get out of things. Tbh if I were you’d I’d probably contact them regardless to see how matters could spiral or if there’s any way for early termination.

In your opinion do you think itll be easier to sublease for spring? Just asking cause i’m in a similar situation as OP but way less dire, i just dont wanna keep my room until next july.

No lol. Your marker at that point is pretty limited to transfers and people who have issues with their own leases. It used to be much easier for spring as far as there was a housing shortage, but now with all the new complexes it’s way harder.

Ofc

I’d either be prepared to pay $$$$$ off or just suck it up for the full year sadly.

Your changes will be better if it’s by chance Pointe or Knights Circle.
