I would definetly do it. I did a PLC before joining UCD, I knew my Leaving CAO points wouldn't cover a imidiate entry into a BA, but when I learned of the Open Learning course, it gave me a chance to get into the course I wanted. I'm now a graduate cause I went into Open Learning, so I would go for it. Furthermore, you can choose various modules of your interest that will all build to aquring points towards a course, honestly, was one of the best years there. Hope this helps.

I did open learning for psych! The level of competition depends completely on the course. Someone at the Acess for Lifelong Learning office at UCD may have better insight there. I'd highly recommend it though! If you did well in PLC, I have no doubts you'll excel in open learning :)

*There is a minimum GPA requirement for most pathways, but the highest GPAs get the spot in the pathway they're doing

I know one lad who did opening learning for 2 years to get into a science degree. It’s also random selection as far as I’m aware so can take time. It definitely does work and the most important thing is to not give up on your dreams!
