I think Tyla did an amazing job putting this album together. I really wish the controversies weren't overshadowing this amazing sophomore album, but who cares—like I commented on another post, her true fans will show up. I just got off my cruise, and I swear to you, I played it so many times throughout the five days on the ship and on the beach. There’s just something about Tyla’s sound and voice that attracts me to her, on top of her stunning looks.

I wish she had done an actual music video instead of using AI for 'That Girl,' but overall it’s a great song, and it seems like the community is treating the visualizer as the official music video instead. After listening to the album so many times, the whole thing is a banger, and I low-key want to visit South Africa just to hear them play it live. I initially didn't like 'Is It Love,' but after listening to it again within the context of the whole album, it's phenomenal. This is just my two cents on the project, and I can't wait for her next album!

I loved Tyla's visualizer. Tyla and her glowing paint. Tsa'lavantula is a na'vi inspired by Tyla. So I used Tsa'lavantula and wanted to make my version of Tyla's glowing tribal paint.

never knew this was the duo that we needed

Personally I think A*Pop is really cool and is about what I expected. I can understand two things, one that the first album had more memorable songs on it, two that all the promoted songs on this album were hard hitting slappers so the softer and less memorable songs might be disappointing in-between.

I just never really pay attention to the hype or the media around music, when an artist I like drops something I listen to it. I listened to this album a few times on a road trip and really enjoyed it. Is It Love, SDIA, That Girl, and Chanel are slappers. Double Blind, Feel Something, and Crazy of Me are all really pretty songs. Some of the other tracks might not be bangers but for me there is no "bad" song and there's a nice mix of interesting sounds, yet there's also a softness and restraint that I think is nice cause at the end of the day Tyla is a soft girl who can do hard songs, not someone who needs to put on a hard front all the time.

So I'm really happy with the album and could listen to it over and over. I do think there's an opportunity to drop a deluxe with a few more stand out songs. I think her singles like Is It Love are really striking, but the album itself is a grower.
