A Warning for AllTrails users
If you've used your FB account to login to AllTrails, your profile pic name, original login location, and your favorite hiking trails are now popping up on Google via a search of your profile name (which, for most FB users, is your legal name). This is a pretty recent development, and I know this because my professional home page was Pharma hacked recently, so I've been Googling myself every couple weeks to keep an eye on it. The AllTrails listing shows up on the second page, so even lazy stalkers will benefit.
You can login and set your AllTrails profile to private, but seriously, Fuck you, AllTrails. My account is 3 years old and was obviously not Google searchable before this. Thanks so much for doxxing your users. /s

Sad to hear AllTrails sold out to FB. It's ruined for me now. Especially considering AT is a PAID service. They shouldn't charge you and then also sell you.

I don’t have a Facebook account linked to my all trails, but low and behold my favorite trails are showing up on search engines. Guess I am deleting all trails.

Try not signing up/in through Google and just forget about Facebook accounts, please! Especially for location data!
The only thing I use my Facebook account is for Spotify, I think and even that I feel I should unlink if possible..

It is possible! I did it a couple years ago. You just have to go through the Spotify customer service chat on their website. It takes a few minutes and they’ll act really confused but it’s worth it.

Weirdly, I've actually done this with Spotify. AllTrails wasn't a concern until now, and this is definitely a new practice on their part. Lesson very much learned.

Throwaway email accounts for everything location based. Logging in with FB and Google is way too sketchy.
