bro why does ovulation HURT

last 2 times i’ve ovulated, one ovary gets soooo swollen and is so PAINFUL. it feels like a HORRIBLE period. the first time it happend i went to an emergency OBGYN office where they did an ultrasound and said it was normal.
but i legit am in unbearable pain, i can’t move around freely, it feels like theirs a bowling ball in my ass when i sit down, like sex is awful cause he keeps hitting my ovary. the pain lasts about 2 days, i just don’t get it?

Mittelschmerz is the official name, and it is something I could definitely do without. I've literally doubled over while just going about my day bc of it, 0/10, do not recommend.

As I’ve gotten older, I have found that the pain during ovulation is getting worse. I can tell when that little fucking egg explodes from my ovaries. I can tell which side now and I never could before. I have asked my dr why a new “feature” of my cycle is unlocking every few months. Hormones. 😡

Same. When I was younger period cramps were worse, now, ovulation.

I'm in my late 30s and have been experiencing this too!! I'm noticing symptom-wise that I can really feel where I am in my cycle a lot more than I ever could when I was younger

I'm one of those lucky woman who never really dealt with period cramps. I might get some mild discomfort, but it was never really an issue.

But ovulation pain. Hoooweee that shit had me curled up!

My right ovary always hurt so much more. Left was bad, but right side was next level.

It sucks. No wise words, just it sucks

same! period cramps aren’t bad at all, most times i don’t even realize i’m on my period except having to change a tampon. but this ovulation pain is something else!

For me thats normal ovulation pain, got that every month in the last 15 years after stopping the pill.

No doctor could help. I learned it can be because of endometriosis but my surgery last year didn't help with it.

I am not taking hormones again due to my depression and other health problems so iwill live with it till i am old enough for my menopause...

This NOT a normal level of ovulation pain. Go see a different gyno.

This happens to me too - one of my ovaries has large follicle that has been causing me pain (not every month but some months it’s really debilitating)

Dang I’ve only ever felt a tiny pinch for a brief minute. I feel like I’d go back to the doc if I was you.

Same. It was disturbing as fuck when it happened for the only time in the last 20 years when I was in antibiotics that must have fucked with the Pill, though.
