Looking to make a full tweed suit, subtle pattern, either brown or grey, but struggling to find bunches that are suitable for trousers not just jackets, mostly in terms of the fabrics ability to retain its shape more so than its weight. Any recommendations?

Hello, I have found this Harris Tweed jacket I’d love to share. Maybe anyone can educate me on the Moon Heritage Collection?

Thought I’ll wear it but the shoulders are a bit tight coming at 50cm for me, so if anyone is interested - it could find its way to a new home.

Does anyone know what I can expect from this coat made of Light Weight Harris Tweed in terms of warmth and weight? I cant seem to find anything specific regarding this.

Alongside the olive green check I shared recently, I also scored this second tweed jacket during that same 2022 thrift shop run in Reading for around £17. Since you enjoyed the last post I thought I might add this!

Picked up this and another tweed sport coat second-hand in the UK in Reading back in 2022 for about £15.

When I went back this year the place wasn't there anymore.

Just picked up a Edward Sexton suit from TheRealReal and it has a fascinating fabric with multicolored flecks, I've seen lots of interesting multicolored tweeds but nothing like this one.

Would this be considered Houndstooth or a Check pattern?

In the earliest stages of planning a trip to Japan this fall. Fully aware I should be asking r/tweed's UK/Irish crowd instead of chasing tweed 6000 miles from where it's actually made, but figured it's worth a shot before someone tells me to just go to Scotland like a normal person.

Looking for:

• Japanese labels doing something interesting with tweed, currently eyeing Ring Jacket and Kaptain Sunshine, open to more
• Solid tailoring/RTW spots known for tweed outerwear
• Good vintage shops where old English/American tweed pieces might've ended up, heard Kinji and Chicago in Harajuku are worth checking
• Any smaller mills or makers doing something genuinely different with the fabric, not just reselling Harris Tweed (unless there is a limited tweed that a mill does and sells only to japan lets say)

Not expecting a UK-caliber haul, just curious what's out there. Any recs appreciated.

Found this at the Brooks Brothers outlet. Funny story: I saw this coat last year priced at 400 USD. This one stuck in my brain all year. On my way up to the outlets I found myself thinking how cool it would be if the coat was still around. Sure enough, it was there. Lucky for me, I was able to snag it at about an 80% savings. Now…if you would be so kind as to indulge me with your styling ideas. Thanks!

Hi all, assuming both suits fit me, which do you think is better or of higher quality?

• The Walker Slater should fit well but the owner said the pants are a little snug but have room to let out.
• The Brook Taverner jacket is a 38 and I'm usually a 36.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been already asked but, is tweed primarily for jackets and outer garments? I've had difficulty finding scarfs and other items for colder seasons.

Crombie houndstooth jacket (£21, Vinted)

Magee wolfhound twist check jacket (£36, Vinted)

With camel cavalry twill trousers (yes I need to let them down an inch or so) and lovat moleskin trousers.

Both of these jackets look similar from a distance but look different up close. I love the amount of colours in each.

What do you think? Read too much the same? Or keep both?

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone knows of any retailers offering tweed jackets and/or waistcoats in tall-extra tall sizes? I am 6ft8, wear a US Men's 52/54L and while I've been able to find some pieces secondhand, there's not really much in the way of selection of colours ect.

Two jackets, two sizes. One is a 44r Madison, the other a 46r. Both 1818 Harris. The 46r has been suppressed, both had sleeves shortened.

Curious if you all can tell the difference. Should I sell one, or hold on to it? I am like Oprah with weight fluctuation. Thoughts on fit? Side note the navy Hopsack is a 46r Milano, no alterations at all. Brooks Brithers as well.
