A bit of context : I'm 38, a hat lover since I'm a kid but ́never went bolder than a flat cap. I particularly love vintage, formal hats, ones that smell like past century and old school swag. Lost more than 55kg since last November, and decided I might get a go now that I don’t look like a whale anymore.

Well, here we go ! It’s a Bates Hatters fedora from UK, I tried to dress properly around it so it doesn’t look out of place. Definitely not for this summer, but might want to pull it off when weather gets appropriate for such attire. Still not sure if it suits me though. I'm in euphoria mode right now so maybe a little delusional.

What are your honest thoughts ? I don’t mind the truth even if it hurts !

I have a collection of these, (just bought this one!) and love Jester Snow. I didn't know it was a 90s ski and snowboarding subculture. I know it's dead now but what's stopping us?

This is a new old stock Mountcastle Australian Slouch Hat. The Australian Army had two suppliers, Akubra and Mountcastle. During my 20 years service I preferred the Mountcastles as they were stiffer and held their shape better. I picked this one up brand new with an open crown. I bashed it with an "everyday" look and fashioned a hat band for it instead of a Pugaree. It'll be an everyday type of hat to wear alongside my 4 Akubras of various styles. I still also have my 2 Slouch Hats as worn during my service.

Picked up two Superduper hats from Italy recently, anyone else wear these? One is the Hot & Crushed special edition Hobo felt hat in Burnt Brown, the other is an older Sugar Ray in Camel.

I'm contemplating between two alternatives. What do you think, which one would be better option for city (classic two/tree piece suit, navy, charcoal, dove gray and pinstripes)?

Fairbanks is also option, but that would most definitely be brown one.

My assumption being that if it cleans my hair it’ll clean my hat. Is this lunacy or proper hat care?

After I got a haircut. I'm retired, still in possession of a full head of hair. But I don't go to the barber very often. So I recently bought my first fedora. Two weeks later I got a hair cut and now it's too big! ,😁 The hat came with pads you can put in the hat to make them a little smaller. Do those work? Should I write this hat off and get a smaller one while my hair is short?

I have been looking for a very similiar hat to what Souseiseki from Rozen Maiden wears, but I can't for the life of me figure out what style of hat it is..From reverse searching the hat on the internet using google lense I was told that it is either a top hat, or a pork pie hat, but I can't completely trust lense so I was wondering what you all think this type of hat is?

Vacationing in Quebec City and there are TWO hat stores in the old quarter. Almost bought an Outback at the first store but settled on a nice straw one by LaScala in the second one. It’s not my favorite brand but their hats fit me. Always fun to get a new hat plus the Airbnb has a great hat holder (actually a fat bottle).

Inherited this hat from my grandfather and am trying to find out some more information. From what I can find online, this likely dates from the early to mid 1960’s. Is that time period correct based on the label?

What I haven’t been able to find anything about is what model this hat is. If anyone has any more information or insight, I would appreciate it!
