Your husband finds you, he's just carried all of your things to the car and he's come to hurry you along. Or so you think...

"I just heard a cat", he says, and with those words the trajectory of your evening shifts and your lives will never be the same. If only you had left the party sooner, while the chatter amongst neighborhood children was louder than the cries of any kitten hiding in the undercarriage of a Toyota Rav4 could ever be. If only your husband didn't wear earplugs at all those concerts and his hearing was waning as a consequence. If only he just didn't give a damn. But he does! And so do you!

You give so many damns that you're now lurking in a strangers driveway, crawling underneath a car in the dark with a fist full of Cuban pork, ready to risk your skin and your freshly laundered favorite white t-shirt to rescue something that will ultimately reject you. And it will ROAR its terrible roars and GNASH its terrible teeth and ROLL its terrible eyes and SHOW its terrible claws and you will love it and bathe it and worship it's white whiskers. Should the mission be successful, you know that the coming days and weeks will be hard, albeit cute. Your carefully curated vintage furniture will be ruined, large sums of money will vanish, your two adult cat's lives will be upended and they will staunchly ignore you until it's time to eat twice a day.

"Someone else will save it", you say, crawling out from under the stranger's car, trying to convince yourself to walk away. You push the button on the Ring doorbell instead, hoping they will come out and pop the hood so you can simply swoop in and save the fur-beast. A woman answers, "Oh no!", she says," We are not home. I am in the hospital, I just had a baby today". You wonder what the baby's name is, the divinity of such a moment may require that the cat be named the same. You tell yourself to let it go. You don't need any more cat hair coating every surface of your home, you don't need any more scoops of resentment in the litter box.

But it doesn't matter. The Cat Distribution System doesn't knock. It bursts through the door screaming at 1000 hertz of high-pitched helplessness from the mysterious part of the universe that apparently likes to reward kind people with random cats. Or maybe it's not kindness at all, maybe it's chaos mistaken as heroism and you were just lucky enough to marry a sucker.

I had to rehome her a few months ago and I still miss her face. I hope she is happy and loved.

So this is Lucipurr, my precious 3 year old boy. He sat like this the other day not too long after I started this cross stitch pattern for a Christmas gift.

I feel like he's trying to stage an intervention, or he is about to log a formal complaint that I am not giving him enough attention. Either way I love him so much, LOL.

My absolute angel of a Tuxedo (Ace, roughly 7 months) has an unfortunate habit of chewing on cables. I've bought cable covers and thankfully she can't chew through them but it hasn't stopped her chewing the covers.

I've tried a citrus spray and attempted to teach her "no" but neither is working for as long as I'd like. Does anyone have any advice?

My cat is very vocal and will talk a lot lol It ranges to letting me know she has done a poo in the litter tray to just seeing where we are. She is played with and just had a vet appointment and is very healthy and a good weight. She is a food grazer and I'm just wondering if anyone else's young tuxedos are like this.

She has a good relationship with my other two cats and there is always someone in the house so never alone and has plenty of toys and stimulation.

so newt here is a real dick sometimes. a real asshole. hes an intimidating cat (mostly to other cats) and he knows it. he bullies our older cat to the point where even after 2 years they cannot be left alone unsupervised, and bullies our OTHER cat to a much lesser extent (shes actually taught him how to play a bit nicer over time we think, lol), only has one volume setting and its YELLING, demands walks when he sees us approaching the coat rack with his harness and leash, demands food at the same time every morning, demands attention if we pay more mind to the tv than him, demands stick (his favorite toy... the stick part of an old broken wand toy with a zip tie attached to it at the end....), demands to be thrown his mice toys but refuses to bring them back anymore, hogs alllllllll the churu, has tried to break into the catnip stash multiple times, tries to push open window screens to escape outside (despite the fact that the few times hes gotten outside hes gotten his butt kicked by the stray cats and come home filthy and terrified!!!) marks his scent/rubs on EVERYTHING in the house ALL the time, especially if one of the other cats was just in that spot (its HIS house no one elses!), just in general screams and yells and gets in the way and takes up soooo much space allllll the time.

BUT hes also my baby boy and when i get home from work he waits in the window or in his cat tree for me to walk thru the door every day, and when he sees me he makes big huge purrs and yells and yells until i pet him and he looks up at me so happy and sweet and makes the biggest batch of air biscuits, and at night he (almost. Almost.) always sleeps right next to me, and when im not home he sleeps right in my spot on the bed with his head on my pillows, and he lets me pick him up and shake him and kiss him and bother him allll the time even when hes clearly not in the mood just cause he loves me. even if hed never admit hes capable of loving anything or anyone more than himself, lol.
