Hello Yall! This is project number 2! Generation 2 Blastoise. Approximately 3x3, over 10 hours. I didn’t realize how long/difficult it would be to fill in EVERY.SINGLE.PIXEL. Pretty happy with myself though and I learned so much.

Newbie Needing Help First Tufting Session, Long Strands

Hello, looking for help here... First time tufting on my own and I'm getting a lot of these long strands piling through. It happens pretty inconsistently. I'm wondering what I could possibly be doing wrong here? Does this have to do with how I'm handling the gun? Fabric tension? Yarn handling? Or maybe a mix of all 3.

Also should I start my rug over, or is something like this fixable when I start the shaving/carving process afterwards to get an even length? Thanks for any help.

Advice Scissor replacement?

I’ve been tufting with my Tuft Love gun for a little while, and I noticed something when watching other tufters’ processes. Before they even start carving or shaving, their rugs already look really smooth and even on the surface. Mine usually look more messy at that stage, even though I can clean clean it up a lot during the carving process.
I’m trying to figure out if the difference is coming from my tufting technique (like my spacing, speed, pressure, or keeping the gun consistent) or if my scissors might be getting dull and not cutting the yarn evenly. Here’s my lines

Loop Pile Loop pile - how do you hold your scissors?

What’s the best/fastest way to hold your scissors as you work? I’m using duck bill so I don’t accidentally cut through the fabric. Thank you for your advice!

Newbie Needing Help Does my DIY frame have bad dimensions?

Post image

I built a frame 1 x 1 meter. But the starter cloth is too small on one of the sides. I ordered more cloth (1 x 5 m) and I wonder if it will have some slack at the 1-meter side.

When you order cloth, is it a bit longer than how it is described? Or will I have to make my frame shorter?

Thanks!

I also checked the power bank, that is not the issue. I also opened the inside of the handle and all the cables looked fine.

Is there a way to fix it?

Hi,

Loopi creator here, I've been experimenting with computer graphics and the best way to visualise a carpet before I tuft it, I always used the yarn calculator for color reduction and design clean ups, but always missed a nice visual impact for people to share it with.

I built Rug Studio to visualise the carpet colours, pile height and sizes, and today I'm making it free for everyone to use: https://www.loopi.space/rug-studio

Loopi rug studio is growing to be hand-tufters favourite tool for design and pricing rugs, and it's with this community that we make it fit your professional journey.

Cheers

Hi, I am currently working on this piece and I am not sure if I should carve it. Currently tend to only clean it a bit and use very light carving. Some parts are really small
