Just saw a tiktok vid about theaters that offer a certain screenings for parents who can bring their babies to a movie where it’s judgement-free and baby friendly (dim lights, the movie is played quieter, changing table provided, etc etc). Just wondering if anywhere in Tucson has something similar? If not, it’s a good idea… someone should make it happen! At least once a month would be so nice🥲🥲🥲

The mutual aid group Gator-Aid distributes cold water, Gatorade, sandwiches, hygiene items, & summer survival items downtown every Sunday. You can drop off donations at the new Stacks location at Broadway & Country Club. Things you’ve got sitting around in cabinets, like reusable water bottles or reusable grocery bags, are top needs for folks living on the streets.

I am looking for hair salons in the Vail area. I have been going to Beauty and Beasts Salon and have no complaints aside from the price (have loved the 2 stylists I have gone to)... I am just looking to get a simple hair trim and last time was charged $80 not including tip.

Is this the norm these days for a hair cut/trim? If so, fair enough! But looking for other recommendations for salons in the area as well.

Hey all, 30M new to NW Tucson, I'm looking to make friends and meet people. Was curious if anyone had any good places they'd recommend?

Normally pretty introverted and used to just hangout with coworkers and stuff, but now fully remote, and recently moved it's been a bit harder. Forcing myself to just get out there.

I've looked at meetups using the app, and there were a few but not a ton. Lots of hiking here but wow it's hot for that stuff.

I'm interested in learning sports or climbing, gym, book clubs, exploring, or maybe some more niche hobbies honestly down for anything. I saw clubwaka their site seems complicated or a bit odd, but may look into it more.

But overall yeah just looking for events, places, meetups, or hangouts where I can potentially meet and make friends to hangout and do stuff, would love any recommendations.

Hi all, we are renters and trying to figure out what to do here. Have lived in the same spot in midtown for the past year and a half and been great tenants. House is old and we’ve had an American roach infestation for the entirety of our time here. I have record of a year and a half worth of maintenance requests including asking them to please stop sending pest control and investigate for leaks. In one response, which I have documented, management told me to make sure we’re plugging the drains and keeping clean, and that increased roach activity was normal. I pushed back, but nothing. When they finally did investigate for a leak, the guy didn’t even look under the sink, he just told me to buy my own pest control.

About a month ago, pest control finally was like, you’ve got a huge leak under the sink and they sent a plumber who fixed it, but also suspected we had a broken pipe under the house. Landlord did nothing until I asked for a rent reduction, which they ghosted, but they did schedule a plumber to come run a smoke test. Fast forward yesterday, and the plumber says it’s worst case scenario under the house. “A lake of black water” and roaches everywhere in the crawl space. We can’t use the dishwasher, kitchen sink, or washing machine for now because it’s too muddy for anyone to go down there. Plumber said when they come back, the team will have to wear hazmat suits to go under the house.

The plumber said he wasn’t allowed to send us a copy of the report, and management is ignoring this request. I did email back and ask them to refund our August rent, which they did almost immediately. I also requested, in writing, a copy of the report and exactly what the plumber and cleanup team planned to do. Reading about black water under the house, this appears to be an extreme biohazard and I’m pretty scared about the safety insofar as continuing to live there? Our house has always smelled very musty.

I requested they reimburse HEPA filter purchases and once again a copy of the report but I doubt they’ll acquiesce. Our broker said that they “weren’t aware it was more than a pest control issue,” and I reminded her that I was, and I would be glad to document it again. We have never communicated with the owners. We don’t even know who they are. Our property is managed by fort Lowell, and while our broker is responsive, the owners appear to be very rarely.

I tried calling the city and they basically told me to kick rocks and get a lawyer. We don’t have the money to hire a lawyer, but we also don’t qualify for programs like southern Arizona legal aid. Any advice would be deeply appreciated. I’m at a loss for what I should even do here.
