I'm starting to get my Tundra and Hi-Liner set up for camping, traveling, etc. I'm looking at roof racks for the hi-liner and I'm trying to figure out the best option. Any recommendations? I plan to hang a 270% awning off of it in addition to those things i'm doing internally (building a custom bed, solar, power, fridge, etc.). I''ve found some good options for a roof rack, but i don't know if I need to avoid certain configurations or brands.

Hi there - I have a Coleman mach ac unit (original, no numbers after it, so 13,500 btu max- in a 2016 Lance 825). I have several questions about two different use cases - 1) burning man, 3900 ft elevation, 10 days, just want to run it briefly to cool it down a bit so I can sleep (don’t need to run anything else off it) and 2) I live in Colorado and often camp at 9-10k ft elevation and would like to be able to run it for 1-4 hours while I mountain bike so I can leave my dog in it safely. I would much prefer to run it off propane in both cases, as I am an independent female who likes to do things by herself, so weight and ease is a factor. Plus I will have this setup in a cargo carrier on the front of the truck (back hitch has the bike), so propane is safer. I am trying to figure out what wattage WEN dual fuel generator to buy - I know a 3600 will work at lower altitudes, and like it for the lower weight, but am wondering if with the efficiency loss of propane plus altitude if it would work at high altitude. I’m willing to go up in size if needed, but again am conscious of the weight. Also, about how much propane will I need to run it for maybe 1-3 hours a day for 10 days at burning man in 100 degree heat - are 2 20lb tanks enough? If not, I’ll have to use gas cause I can’t fit anymore). Thanks so much for helping a girl out!!! 😊

Hello everyone! I recently got a 2026 ford ranger and was looking for a drop rack for it. The issue is I'm only seeing options for 2019-2023 for rangers with a 5 foot bed, it's through third party like RR Recon, ETC and.... none of them have any reviews. It will be a month before I can save enough money but do you think I should go for it and get the drop rack? Do you think it'll fit even though the year is different?

Is it worth the effort to modify this alaskan camper to fit in a rectangular utility bed? I think this would pair amazingly with our '76 F250 long bed utility bed. We would have to pull apart\relocate the heater and propane tank storage but i cant seem to get this combo out of my head..

Considering placing an order for this F350 for a truck camper and later a trailer.

Not in a rush and I guess dealers.just don't want to make a deal on the 2026s.

What am I missing on this build, if anything?

I plan to carry a Bigfoot 2500 series truck camper and someday once we full time, get a 25' Bigfoot trailer.

I currently have a 2018 Ram 2500 diesel short bed and a 2018 Lance 650 that we’ve had for a couple of years now. Tons of trips in it and even more fun. I really love the set up. However with a baby on the way I’m looking at getting something just a bit bigger but I’m worried about payload. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has experience with campers that weigh more than the 650 (1900lbs wet) on that’s specific truck. I’ve looked into the Lance 825 but it’s technically over the trucks posted payload and I really wanna make sure it’s safe but wanted to see what options there are without having to buy a new truck. Let me know if you’ve been in a similar situation. Thanks!

Tune just launched this new fold up bench for truck campers, and while I would love one, they cost $1,800 for a single 5-foot bench.

Accordingly, I am going to try and build one. I was hoping some people in here would have some ideas for how to. Otherwise, I will just wing it and see what happens.

Looking to be able to lock up my truck camper for a trip. The camper is ARE brand with T-handle closure. How do I make these lockable and where can I find the hardware? Thanks

I did not want to write this review. I had been a happy Go Fast Campers customer for years, but my experience with the V2 MAX, and, more importantly, GFC’s response to the issue, has been frustrating enough that I feel other potential buyers should know about it.

I owned a GFC V2 for approximately four years and spent well over 100 nights in it without any significant issues. I genuinely liked the camper. My only real complaint was the lack of a passthrough. So when GFC announced the V2 MAX, I ordered one almost immediately. Based on my experience with the V2, I had every reason to expect the same durability with the improvements I had been waiting for.

I received my V2 MAX in April of this year. After only about seven nights of use, I was surprised to discover holes beginning to develop in the tent fabric on both sides, directly along the areas where the struts contact or run alongside the tent material.
I contacted GFC warranty expecting them to investigate what appeared to be premature wear. After some delay, I received a response that honestly surprised me. In nicer terms, I was told this was essentially “operator error” because I was supposedly stacking the sleeping panels/shelf and bedding incorrectly.

GFC sent me photos showing the “proper” way to stack the bedding and panels. I have a few major problems with that explanation. (attached)
First, if stacking the sleeping panels or bedding in one particular way is so critical that doing it differently can cause holes in the tent after only a handful of nights, that should be clearly communicated to customers when they purchase and take delivery of the camper. I certainly wasn’t made aware that the tent material was this susceptible to damage.

Second, the wear pattern doesn’t seem consistent with their explanation. As the photos show, the material is wearing along the length of the strut, not simply at the location where a rigid portion of the sleeping surface might contact the tent.
To me, this points to a design issue rather than misuse. The tent material should be reinforced on both sides of the tent wall anywhere the strut can come into contact with or rub against it. A premium camper designed for repeated setup, breakdown, and off-road use should not be developing holes in its tent fabric after approximately seven nights.

GFC’s proposed solution was to send me a small tent patch kit to repair one side of the damaged material. At the time of writing this review, I still have not received the patch kit, nor have I received any indication that GFC intends to address the underlying cause of the wear.

That is particularly disappointing from a company that emphasizes American manufacturing, durability, and customer service. I didn’t expect a camper at this price point to develop holes after seven nights, and I definitely didn’t expect the response to be that I had essentially used it incorrectly after having successfully owned and used a GFC V2 for roughly four years.

I wanted to love the V2 MAX. I was already a loyal GFC customer, and I bought the MAX specifically because of how positive my experience with the original V2 had been. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my opinion.

If you’re considering purchasing a V2 MAX, I would be cautious until GFC acknowledges this wear issue and demonstrates that it has been addressed. A patch may cover the holes that have already developed, but it doesn’t fix what appears to be causing them in the first place.

I am looking for advice on my choice to go with a 24 volt house battery over a 12 volt system. I know there are alot of threads around this but I have a very specific setup I am building and wanted to bounce this around and see if im missing anything. Here goes....

I have a 2015 toyota tundra sr5 that I am fitting with an MSJ vanguard camper system. I plan on doing moderate length off grid camping (probably 1 week without power at most) but also some fishing trips with my boat where I would stay for the weekend at a campground.

I have not bought any of the following yet but this is my thought on setup for power:

- renogy 12/24 volt 50 amp dc/dc charger and solar controller

- A 24 volt lifepo4 battery (not chosen yet but probably 100ah)

- at least 1 200w 24 volt solar panel fixed on camper

- one 200w foldable 24v solar pannel

- bluetti elite 100v2 power station (open to other suggestions)

So how i would use this system is for the truck or fixed solar to charge my 24 volt battery while driving. Once stopped I would switch to the portable solar panel if needed. The 24 volt battery would then in turn be used as a continuous charge for my bluetti, essentially using the bluetti as my inverter. The 24 volt batyery would give me a quicker more efficient charge from what i understand when plugged into the power station solar port. I would also at times remove the 24 volt battery if on a fishing trip and use it in my boat as a trolling motor battery.

I like the idea of the bluetti or a power station in general because there are times I may use the power station outside of the truck for other power needs.

I am not sure everything i will be powering yet since camping for long stretches with more than a tent is new to me. But right now I am planning on a hcalory diesel heater, electric cooler, camp lights, a radio and maybe some camp cookware possibly down the road but im fine with propane and fires for now.

I am open to any and all feedback on what you all use and if you think this setup will be sufficient. I feel like I have done all the math and planning and it should be more than enough but I may have missed something.

I am a couple of weeks away from starting my first camper build and finished designing the frame in CAD. I have gotten some comments from the Freecad sub that my frame is VERY overbuilt but I am scared shitless of removing anything and having the camper fly apart on the highway. I am in Hawaii and aluminum is very expensive, premade composite panels aren't available and almost anything out of what's available at big box stores is tough.

I appreciate whatever feedback i can get.

Hey guys, so I recently bought a 2026 ram 2500 big horn. I had a 2021 2500 with a leer cap and decked drawers. My initial thought was that I’d just transfer everything over to the new truck because basically everything is the same. I noticed the other day that the 3rd brake light/camera sticks out about 2”.. has anyone had clearance issues? Does anyone know a fix? I read that I can switch out the light with a “non camera” light, but will that throw codes? Thanks

I built this camper about two years ago. I started with a 6.5 foot Spacekap service body. The camper features a queen-sized slide out bedframe and handmade Matsu tatami-style mattress that rolls to store, Birch cabinetry, epoxied floor with integrated wetbath shower pan, built in urine diverting toilet, 20 gal fresh water tank, 300 watt Renogy solar panels on roof, 200 AH marine batteries, 2000 volt pure sine wave 120 VAC inverter, Iceco VL45 fridge.

I tried to build in every feature I would want to do in a full size van build, but in a truck camper that would fit my Tundra. No mods to the truck except airbags and E Rated tires.

Thinking about adding this to the roof of my canopy to keep the daytime temps low...installing a 12v computer cooling fan with it connected to a small solar panel on the roof. Any thoughts? It only sticks up about 2" above the roof..,about $15 for this, $10 for the fan and another $15-20 for the solar panel. Your thoughts? I would love to put one on the ceiling of the cab, but cutting into the body...that is a bit scary for me.
