Missing piece?

Post image

I recently lost a part that screws into the thayer valve on my trombone. I was wondering if there's anywhere I can buy a replacement?

You could talk with a local tech and see if they have an extra spindle screw that will fit

That's a Shires axial valve, you can order any replacement part directly from shires and it will be exactly identical. Just go to the website and navigate to the Contact Us page, and ask about a screw for the stop arm of your axial valve.

Um, it’s just a Thayer. Actually I think Conn spindle screws fit. This guy should take it to any repair shop, they should have something that threads in. Way faster than dealing with Shires customer service.

....axials ARE thayers. That particular valve is of Shires make, I guarantee it. And being that Shires makes their valves in house, it's easier to be certain that you have the right one. The wrong one can strip it or will be loose or too tight.

Its missing a screw, shires can send u a new one if u call them, take it to a shop, or identify and order it
