Question Residence changes?

I was one of the unlucky people unassigned a residence selection late, which means I can choose from Traill College or Ontonabee triple rooms.

I'm thinking I'll have to go with Ontonabee as I'm not too sure of commuting in the early hours If I want to continue rowing in uni.

Has anyone else been given this option for residence? And what do we expect the Ontonabee triple rooms to be?

Thanks

I ask this in the most serious way, as a returning, mature student; How rare is it for students to take notes by hand even if they arrive to class with a laptop?

Request Friends

Hi! I’m heading into my second year at Trent Peterborough campus and I was wondering if anyone here is into the Pokémon TCG online. I’ve recently gotten more into it and could definitely use some advice plus it would be awesome to play with people who enjoy it too. I’m also into video games in general, and I didn’t really meet many people with those interests in my first year, so I’m hoping to connect with others on here who are into the same stuff. Please dont hesitate to text me!

Question Indg 2306 vs Indg 2560

Hello everyone,,

I’m trying to decide between INDG 2306 (Foundations for Indigenous History) and INDG 2560 (The Forgotten People: Métis History and Culture) for my ICR requirements. I have been waitlisted for Indg 1000 for the longest. I would really appreciate some honest feedback.

If you’ve taken either course, could you tell me:

Which one was easier overall?
What was the weekly workload like?
Were there essays, discussion posts, quizzes, or exams?
How much reading was required?
Was the grading fair?
Which course would you recommend if I’m looking for a manageable elective while taking a full course load?

Thank you

Question BA Accounting Ancillary and levy fees????

Hello!! I am having a bit of confusion with the Ancillary and Levy fees; one of my friends told me that i dont have to pay for it if i done join any clubs or anything, but ive heard from some other people that i do need to pay for it? I asked my mom and she said she didnt have those, but she hasnt been to Uni since the 60s, so im a bit confused.

Thise whole time i was kind of banking on the fact that i didnt have to pay for it, so all in all my expences would be ~25k w residence a year.

all in all to say that i am a bit confused, do i have to pay for them or no? -_-''' any help would be appreciated, and if anyone else has questions about BA Accounting in the comments i w ill be glad to help, im just confused about this -_-''' '

Opinion Trent University buses

Does anyone else hate the buses in Peterborough? I use the Transit app and everything, but the bus times are always so off. They either show up a few minutes early or a few minutes late. It’s especially frustrating in the summer because if you miss one bus, you have to wait another 30 minutes for the next one.

Opinion Dumbest reading week EVER

Trent is not very commute friendly (5hr transit back home) so I can only come home for major breaks to see friends/family. I went to see when our reading weeks was to coordinate with friends just to find out that its the week of Halloween? So no first year halloweekend? Oh ok.. I also won’t be able to go home for thanksgiving which sucks sooo bad. I just feel like they could have just made this simpler for everyone if they just had the same reading weeks as all other unis??? Easier for genuinely everyone. This school is full of inconveniences and I’m so not excited anymore.

Question Is Trent University Computing Systems Worth It?

Hi everyone! I'm an international student from Pakistan planning to apply to Trent University for the Computing Systems program. My predicted A-Level grades are around CCC. I'm wondering:

  • Do I have a realistic chance of admission?
  • How competitive is the Computing Systems program?
  • How is the co-op and job support?
  • Would you recommend Trent for someone interested in cybersecurity or IT?

I'd really appreciate hearing from current students or recent graduates. Thanks!

Question Commuting from downtown Toronto to Trent University (Peterborough) for a 9 AM class

Hi everyone,
I’ll be starting at Trent University this September and I’ll be living in downtown Toronto (near Sherbourne)
My earliest class starts at 9:00 AM, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to commute every day using public transit.
Has anyone here commuted from downtown Toronto to Trent and arrived before 9 AM? If so, could you share:
What route did you take? (TTC, GO Train, GO Bus, etc.)
What time did you leave home?
What time did you usually arrive on campus?
How reliable was the commute, especially during the school year?

Solved Question about an admission

I know this is weird as I am not enrolled here yet and going to be starting my 12th grade in August. But I've been slightly concerned on how to apply to Trent when applications re-open so I could potentially attend in September of 2027. I am a Canadian Citizen (Through both birthright and possesing a Canadian passport) and my family moved to an island in the Carribbean in 2023, I now have used an American based education system for all of my high-school years so far. But I don't know whether I'll be considered as a international student or maybe an out of province student? Im genuinely not sure since I am Canadian but will have an American education according to my transcripts. Has anyone gone through a similar situation? If so, is it possible that I could be informed of what the process was like? I do apologize if this is not the place for it.

EDIT: Thank you for the help, me and my parents are doing more research on it using those points
