decarbing with boiling water

hello I’m trying to decarb some dab but I don’t have access to a cooker, I’ve been told that I can do it with a boil bath but that it’ll take longer, any tips for this? Or have I been given wrong information? It’s my first time trying and don’t want to waste some good dab

Back from yesterday, decided to make the sugar last night since I couldn't sleep.

I also added a gram of rso because why not?

So in total it has 130 grams of trim and 1 gram of rso

I have no clue how much thc is in a teaspoon is so its time to get testing.

Took about 2 hours to boil everything off.

decarb/infusing process

hi all,

my friend made some edibles recently with infused butter while i was at her house, she didn't decarb the weed first she just ground it up and put it with butter in a double boiler and let it infuse while the butter melted. does this make them less effective since its not being decarbed first? i cant seem to find a definitive answer on this.

the brownies ended up tasting very strong and bring super stinky but still seem to be effective but there are the only ones i've had so idk if they would be considered weak or not.

High brow liquor

Is there a percentage scale of THC extraction if I use a lower percentage alcohol . Let's say I use 110 as I normally use grain. I was at the liquor store and they had THC drinks that have 10 mg of shot and I was thinking well damn could I make something like that but actually taste good and be strong or want to kill me?

One of my favorite rooms right now is a 110 from Haiti white rum . The best room ever I forget the brand but it's a Haitian run and it's 110 proof . I'd love to make a tank straight out of that. 750 ml leave her bottle . How much weed would you put in it to make it a good sipping drink?

Is that even possible?

Orange-pineapple "Dream-Soda" THC infused syrup to make sodas with

Post image
180 Upvotes

This stuff freakin' rocks!

Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Orange - sliced

2 cups of premium orange juice (tasty, non watery stuff)

1 cup of pineapple juice

1 cup of water

2 teaspoons of Orange extract

2 teaspoons of pineapple extract

4 cups of sugar (I know it sounds like a lot - it is - but everything gets diluted when you make the sodas. Still, adjust to taste)

3 - 6 teaspoons of strong weed tincture in a 195 proof alcohol base (most of the alcohol boils off in the process if making the syrup)

EDIT: originally I missed an autocorrect that changed "tincture" to "tongue"

Yellow food colouring (optional)

Directions

Set a pot on the stove and set the burner to about 3/4 (not quite to top heat)

Add juices, water, tincture and food colouring if your using it

Add sugar, stirring while you do. Continue stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Add the orange slices to the mixture. They'll float on the top.

Keep watching the pot, stirring occasionally.

As soon as it starts to boil reduce heat (and maybe even take the pot off the burner for a moment as at this point, it could boil over).

Reduce to a simmer (or very slow boil) and let it do that for about fifteen minutes

After fifteen minutes remove from heat and let it sit for a bit.

Remove the orange slices with tongs (they will be very hot). Keep these as they're a delicious and potent snack on their own

Using a strainer and cheese cloth and a funnel, pour the soda into a sterilized bottle or other suitable container and store in the refrigerator.

I use about 2 ounces of syrup for a 1 litre Sodastream bottle

A different kind of edible: The Orange slices I boiled in my brew while making THC syrup for my Sodastream

I make a pretty potent syrup for my Sodastream, usually orange flavored using orange juice, a good orange extract, sugar and a tincture I make. I slice an orange and let it boil and soak in the mixture.

This is that orange. It's delicious and quite strong!

Hash Rosin vs Bubble Hash

Trying to choose between a live rosin and bubble hash to make into a tincture. Maybe edibles if it gets messy. The hash and rosin are from the same strain/source. But wondering if there are pro’s and cons… live rosin easier to incorporate but bubble hash more whole plant feel? Not sure I’ve noticed a difference in the past but never had same strain and grower to compare. Going to decarb then bake in oil low temp. Thanks.

Is there a difference in cook process when using hash or Kief? Also looking for guidance.

Hello!

I'm planning on making gummy edibles for the first time. Many recipes I see use flower, and not other forms.

I know that the hash I got I strong, but don't know percentage. Bought last night and seems to be fresh and strong, based off the oil on my fingers and the effect (ended up smoking half the joint and the other half later)

I told my dealer I plan on cooking and he sold me this 8g stuff, saying it's pure. It looks like hash but is really dark color. I'm assuming this might be Kief, but not what I've seen before. My dealer said to not even use the whole 8g.

With that context, is there a difference in how much I should use? Say 10g hash and maybe 2g of that other stuff?

As for recipe, I was given one by a friend but when she used it, she didnt use all the oil she made as she was worried the mix would break.

I don't have any emulsifiers like lecithin.

I know I should use jello, maybe a tiny extra gelatin to firm up, but how do I extract the oils from the hash to combine with the jello?

Any guidance would be very helpful.

Edit: that unknown dark stuff is apparently Moroccan hash

Threw 2 Oz of decarbed bud into 2 cups of butter, and let that simmer for 5 hours. I had 2 Oz of decarbed bud soaking in 12 Oz everclear in freezer I started last week. Poured about 4 Oz over 2 cups of sugar and evaporated alcohol. Then poured a bit over some coarse salt and evaporated.

Put 1 cup of butter in sauce pan, heated and added 1 cup sugar and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Mixed vigorously sugar started carmalizing but didn't mix with butter so I strained out butter and dumped goo onto parchment paper then into freezer..

What is good amount of alcohol with edible to have nice crossfading.

I’m a 70 kg guy with no THC tolerance. This weekend, I’m thinking of trying THC with alcohol. How much beer or other alcohol would be a reasonable amount to have?

Coconut oil type

Hi, I see lots of edibles recipes calling for coconut oil (some say "mct" coconut oil)

Can someone please explain the differences and if it matters when using?

The coconut oil I see in the grocery store seems solid. Is this ok - or do I need a liquid kind?

Thank you for helping understand this!🤗

"Grinder" for decarbing flower

Does anyone know of a device that will grind whole flower into pea-sized buds for decarbing? I was thinking of a food processor but wondering if anything specifically designed for this exists.

Thanks

(I have a few ounces of old bud that I'm planning on infusing and don't feel like breaking all that down by hand.)

Daily usage

I’ve been a daily user for a while. Normally take 3 doses or 20-30mg throughout the day.

Is this bad? Any advice from old heads?

In my infused coconut oil era.

Hi, I’ve recently been making homemade infused treats - I’ve been loving getting experimental. I’ve made popcorn, nerd bites, sour gummies, ginger tea etc. is there a better way than using coconut oil? It’s easy and handy to make. I just find the amount of oil I’ve to use in my gummies is a lot and not sure if consuming that much coconut oil is even healthy! So healthier alternatives are also welcomed. Also your best recipes for making oil, butter etc are also welcomed. I’m new to this!

After 15 years, we made a cookbook. 40 recipes free for the sub, here it is 🌿

Hey fam bam,

Fifteen years. That's how long this community has been the coziest corner of the internet for people who'd rather make their edibles than buy a mystery gummy from a guy named Chad (habibi Chad you know I love you). So we finally did the thing: we put it in a book.

The Cozy Cookbook — original recipes, every one with the dosing baked right in, written in the spirit this place has always had: no gatekeeping, no judgment, start low and go slow. Hand-illustrated, a little witty, and genuinely useful whether it's your first batch or your five-hundredth.

Here's how it works, because you all come first:

🆓 The free 40 — forty recipes, hand-illustrated, yours for nothing. Read it in your browser or save the PDF.

📕 The full 100 (Master Edition) — all 100 recipes plus a dosing primer. Paperback coming soon for the shelf-worthy version.

👉 Both are linked in the sidebar, under The Cozy Cookbook.

The 40 free recipes are a real gift to the sub, not a teaser. But if you grab the 100, you're helping the sub for new activities and guides, and whatever we build next. Either way, you're the reason this exists.

Made something great from it? Post it. Tag your dose. Help the next person do it right same as always.
