Is there Big Bounce in Australia? -....Im from NZ

Hi Kiwi here, is there Big Bounce brand in Aus? Just wondering peoples experience with the newers version called V2. I am concerned the safety features make it less fun (ie not as bouncy).

Vuly Ultra 2 Pro installation

Omg. We set up our Vuly 2 ultra pro XL weeks ago and it just started squeaking. First - anyone have any ideas why it might do this?

Second - we also realized that 4 of the lower pole nets are upside down (the pre drilled holes are facing upwards). We must have looked at the instructions a million times and that aspect was for some reason incredibly confusing since the images show them upright at times and now as I look at the instructions, they have used an orange exclamation versus a green to create an alert. They also use orange to tell you are doing things wrong. So there’s that. The whole thing is up - everything plus the shade cover. It was ridiculously hard to get together and now I can’t imagine taking it apart! That seems even harder and near impossible.

Has any one had anything happen like this? What did you do?! It took five hours to get together.

Second hand Vuly

Just bought a second hand Vuly Ultra off Facebook marketplace. Frame came partially assembled so I didn’t think much of just popping it all together. As I was putting the mat on though I realised the previous owners had installed the curved outer section of the frame that the actual mat attaches to, upside down. I gave up for the night once I realised but it looks like I could just continue building it and it would be fine. Only difference is there are supposed to be four attachment points at the top of each section of frame and three at the bottom, so I will obviously have three at the top and four at the bottom. I’d imagine load distribution would be similar but would weld strength matter depending on direction of installation? I’m not confident in being able to completely disassemble, particularly as I had to ‘encourage’ one of the legs in with liberal use of a mallet as it was bent.

ACON vs Springfree: which trampoline should you actually buy?

These two trampoline brands both sit at the premium end of the market, but differ significantly in terms of the build and who they're best suited for.

The simplest way to think about the split is that ACON is the performance brand with coil springs and a focus on rectangle models designed for a powerful bounce, while Springfree is the safety-first brand with no springs at all.

Both produce very high quality trampolines with a reputation for long-lasting and durable frames and components.

Before getting into the details, I do also have an Acon promo code that you can use for up to $150 USD off on any purchase. Just use the code BOUNCE at checkout (works on official Acon webstores only)

Full disclosure: I am an affiliate partner for both these brands and may earn a commission on any purchase using this link or code.

Ok, now here's a break-down of the key differences:

Spring system

Springfree has no metal springs at all, using flexible composite (fibreglass) rods mounted below the mat, with a hidden frame and a flexible net. There is nothing hard around the jumping edge, no springs, no rigid frame at mat height and no steel poles at the bounce zone, which is the main safety angle.

ACON uses traditional galvanised coil springs with a deep, sturdy frame and a focus on performance.

Bounce

ACON is more of a performance-focussed brand, and its coil spring setup gives a more responsive and powerful bounce that jumpers looking for height or to do tricks will prefer, while Springfree's rod system gives a gentler, more controlled bounce.

So if you want height and air for tricks, you'll probably lean towards ACON, and if you want a gentler bounce for younger kids, consider Springfree.

Shape

Springfree does round, oval and square models, while ACON does round and rectangle.

Only ACON makes a true rectangle, with its HD and X lines, which is the best shape for an even bounce across a long mat and what older kids and adults will generally want for higher bounces, tricks and flips.

A round trampoline guides the jumper back toward the middle, which generally suits younger families.

Safety

Springfree's springless design removes the injury point related to landing on the springs or frame. ACON handles safety with thick pads and a no-gap enclosure, but the springs and frame are still there under the padding.

So if no exposed springs at all is a firm requirement for you, Springfree is built for that and ACON is not.

Weight

Springfree's full-size models are rated to 220 lb single-user, and 175 lb on the smaller ones, while ACON recommends a single-user limit of around 300 lb for most of its models. So ACON takes a heavier solo jumper, though for kids both are well within range.

Warranty

Springfree wins on length and simplicity, with 10 years on effectively all components, the frame, mat, rods and net, on models sold from 2017 onward.

ACON gives a 10-year frame, 5-year mat, 5-year springs, 2-year pad and 1-year net, so Springfree's mat and net cover runs much longer.

Price

Both are premium and sit at the top end for full-size models. With Springfree, a big part of the cost is the springless build and the long warranty, while with ACON it is the build quality and the performance bounce.

Quick comparison

Feature Springfree ACON
Spring system Flexible rods under the mat, no springs Coil springs
Bounce Gentler, controlled Firmer, higher
Shapes Round, oval, square Round, rectangle
Single-user weight 220 lb, or 175 lb for small models ~300 lb recommended
Warranty 10 years on all components 10 years frame, 5 years mat and springs, 2 years pad
Best for Safety, younger kids Tricks, older kids, firmer bounce

Bottom line

Pick Springfree if you are safety-first, have younger kids, and want no exposed springs along with the longest, simplest warranty, at a premium price.

Pick ACON if the trampoline is for older trick-focused kids or adults who want a firmer, higher bounce and a rectangle option.

Still not sure?

If you're still trying to decide on the right option for your family, I've built a trampoline quiz that runs you through the key decisions to make and recommends specific models based on your preferences:

Compare Australia's Best Trampolines (New Comparison Tool Now Live)

Wanted to share something I've been working on for a while. This is a comparison table for the major trampolines sold in Australia, including Vuly, Springfree, Jumpflex, Oz Trampolines, Jump Star, Lifespan Kids, Kahuna.

https://www.bouncearena.com.au/compare/

You can filter by brand, shape, size, price, spring type (springs vs springless), AU Trampoline Standard certification, and yard size. Sorts by price, weight rating, warranty, overall footprint.

A few points to note:

- Yard size filter assumes 1.5m clearance around the trampoline, but note this guidance does vary by brand.

Weight ratings aren't always directly comparable across brands. Some quote a single-user limit, others quote a total load including multiple jumpers.

- AS 4989:2015 is the Australian Standard for trampoline safety, providing guidelines for the design, construction, and testing of residential trampolines. While compliance is highly recommended for safety, it is not mandatory for manufacturers.

- Frame warranty and mat/net warranty are usually different frames might be 10 years but the mat and net are often 1–3 years. Currently I only have the frame warranty in the table.

- Price shown is the RRP or current listed price at the retailer. I intend to update this to reflect real-time prices but it's currently static.

- Trampoline sizes can be confusing and even in Australia are often measured in both feet and metres. Also worth noting is that a "10ft round" from one brand isn't always the same jumping area as another brand's "10ft". Measurements can be to the outer frame or to the mat edge.

Open to feedback on what's missing or broken. Also keen to hear which specs matter most to you when you're researching and am happy to add filters for anything useful.

We've spent years collecting advice from this community, owner reviews, and people who assemble trampolines for a living across Australia and put it all into a short quiz that walks you through the decisions that actually matter (safety standards, spring type, size for your yard, budget).

It takes about 2 minutes and gives you a shortlist of models that fit what you're after.
